[TB - RB Leonard Fournette weighing around 240]( Source: Buccaneers.com - Scott Smith Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Leonard Fournette said he's weighing in around 240 pounds but expects to get down to the 220-230-pound range before the season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud reports Fournette "seemed to be a little heavy and struggled some in the heat" at the first day of Buccaneers minicamp. Fournette said he's always lost weight in the summer, and he's got to after skipping voluntary OTAs then struggling with conditioning and drops early in mandatory minicamp. He's set to be the lead back for Tampa, but rookie Rachaad White may find a way to cut into his role - especially as a receiver out of the backfield. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [PIT - QB Mitchell Trubisky operating as clear starter]() Source: DKPittsburghSports.com - Dale Lolley Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mitchell Trubisky was 'the clear No. 1 QB' during minicamp, according to Dale Lolley of DK Pittsburgh Sports. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Few things are as old school as making the rookie QB earn the job and few teams are as old school as the Steelers. Expect this kind of talk to continue for Trubisky through the summer and then a full-on battle in camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [IND - OLB Darius Leonard set to have back surgery]() Source: ESPN.com - Mike Wells Indianapolis Colts LB Darius Leonard (back) is expected to undergo back surgery soon, according to ESPN.com's Mike Wells. Per Wells, 'the plan' is for Leonard to be back in time for training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We hate to see this for one of the best players in the game. The timing in June is troubling as it implies the issue just came up, or that they were hoping offseason rest would resolve it. We'll be watching this one closely. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [TEN - Treylon Burks dealing with asthma]( Source: The Athletic - Joe Rexrode Tennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks is working through asthma issues this summer, according to receivers coach Rob Moore.'Some of those things are out of his control. He's got asthma. Those things happen...I'm excited about Treylon and what he's going to be able to bring to this football team. He just has to get himself healthy and be able to show everyone out here on the field what he's capable of,' Moore said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Burks had a rough start to rookie minicamp about a month ago. Initial reports said it was a conditioning issue, while later reports indicated he was battling some asthma. Burks was dropping passes at an alarming rate in camp, and that made all the reports. He's in line to take a large role in the Titans passing attack if he can get up to speed in the pro game. Burks is constantly compared to Deebo Samuel (he's not), and his run-after-the-catch ability should be highlighted by the offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [SEA - WR DK Metcalf sitting out minicamp](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf (foot) is not present for mandatory minicamp, according to sources. While Metcalf is known to be rehabbing from foot surgery, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media suggests the absence has more to do with the lack of movement on a contract extension. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] What's interesting to note is that Metcalf was around for some voluntary workouts earlier this offseason. No contract extension is in sight right now, but deals get done at deadlines. Seattle has the intention of keeping Metcalf around as a key member of the offense, so perhaps something comes together on the contract front before the start of training camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [NYG - QB Daniel Jones cleared for contact]( Source: The Record - Art Stapleton New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (neck) is cleared for contact, according to head coach Brian Daboll on Tuesday, June 7. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones is in a much better offense under Daboll. This system should bring the best out of him...or at least it better or the Giants will be moving on from Jones next season. We'll see if Jones can play up to his potential and show the rushing and passing ability that made him a top-10 pick a few years ago. [GB - Allen Lazard not at mandatory minicamp](=) Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky Green Bay Packers restricted free-agent WR Allen Lazard is not participating in the team's mandatory minicamp Tuesday, June 7. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Packers placed a second-round tender on Lazard, but he has yet to sign the tender. He's looking for a better contract situation and thus is staying away from the facility. Last season, Lazard caught 40 of 60 targets for 513 yards and eight touchdowns, and was a go-to red zone target for QB Aaron Rodgers. With Davante Adams (Raiders) traded away, Lazard is the favorite to take over as the primary receiver for the Packers. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [SF - WR Deebo Samuel to attend mandatory camp]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel is expected to report to mandatory minicamp Tuesday, June 7. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Things have been tense between Samuel and the 49ers this offseason. He unfollowed them on Instagram, there were rumblings he requested a trade, and reports surfaced that he didn't want to be used as a rusher anymore. On the other side, 49ers GM John Lynch has always insisted that Samuel was not going to be traded. However, the team has yet to give him a new contract. They'll have to make him one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the league in order to make him happy. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [NE - RB Stevenson Focused on Third Down Duties](=) Source: Doug Kyed - Pro Football Focus Doug Kyed, from Pro Football Focus, reports New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson is focusing on "route running and being a third-down back." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Stevenson is a better receiver than some think. He's built to run between the tackles, but he can catch passes and attack a defense on third downs - especially if he's working on that part of his game. RB James White is the Patriots pass-catching back, but he's getting up there in age and Stevenson could cut into that role. With more passes caught, Stevenson might push for RB2 value for Fantasy GMs in PPR formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [HOU - WR DaeSean Hamilton carted off with injury]() Source: Pro Football Network - Aaron Wilson Houston Texans WR DaeSean Hamilton (knee) went down with an apparent right knee injury Tuesday, June 7, at minicamp. Trainers examined his knee on the field, and he had to get helped to the cart to leave practice. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A fourth-round pick (Penn State) in the 2018 NFL draft, Hamilton couldn't stay healthy and never did much during his time with the Broncos. The Texans signed him a couple of months ago after Hamilton missed all of the 2021 season and now he's hurt again. This could be it for the veteran receiver. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [LAR - Kyren Williams likely sidelined until camp]() Source: The Athletic - Jourdan Rodrigue Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Rams RB Kyren Williams (foot) recently broke a bone in his foot and underwent surgery that is expected to sideline him until the 'early phase' of training camp, according to head coach Sean McVay. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams, a fifth-round pick out of Notre Dame in the 2022 NFL draft, is already behind others due to this injury. He's a talented back as both a runner and receiver out of the backfield, and Williams is trying to make the 53-man roster as the no.3 RB behind Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [LAR - RB Darrell Henderson nursing soft-tissue injury]() Source: Los Angeles Daily News - Kevin Modesti Los Angeles Rams RB Darrell Henderson (undisclosed) is present but has yet to take part in mandatory minicamp due to a 'soft-tissue' injury, according to head coach Sean McVay. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Henderson's issue is not considered a long-term problem, so the team is likely just being cautious here. When healthy, Henderson is a valuable backup to Cam Akers and a handcuff candidate for Fantasy GMs who have enough bench space.
