[CAR - It will be a "challenge" for QB Matt Corral to win job]( Source: PanthersWire - Anthony Rizzuti Carolina Panthers QB Matt Corral won't have an easy time winning the starting job out of training camp, offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo said on Wednesday, June 1. 'It's really early now to even say what he needs to do,' McAdoo said. 'We need to get to training camp first. Then, obviously, preseason will play a part of it. But it's not gonna be easy for him. It's gonna be a challenge. And I'm not here to make it easy for him. I'm here to make it hard on him. So when he does have a chance to play and get in the games, he's ready to go.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Corral has talent, and he was arguably the best quarterback in this draft class. It wasn't a great class, but Corral certainly is an intriguing prospect. He's athletic and plays with no regard for his personal safety. Corral is a fighter and can attack a defense with his arm and his legs. We'll see if he can beat out QB Sam Darnold in training camp. There's a chance the Panthers add another player to the mix (Baker Mayfield and Cam Newton are possibilities) as well. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CIN - WR Chase More Comfortable]( Source: Jay Morrison - The Athletic Jay Morrison, from The Athletic, reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase is more comfortable with the team's offense than he was as a rookie in 2021. "Last year I was just out there running routes, having fun again," Chase said. "Now I've got all the small details down, like learning how to set people up before the next route. And I feel more comfortable with the offense. Maybe I can move around a little more when we see different things on film. I feel like all of that's going to make me a lot better this year." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Uh oh...a more comfortable Chase is a more dangerous Chase. He's already one of the best receivers in the NFL, and he's only played one season. Chase has incredible natural talent, and his connection with QB Joe Burrow is off the charts. Chase is a no-brainer WR1 for Fantasy GMs and a first-round pick in all draft formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [ATL - QB Marcus Mariota to run more?](=) Source: The Athletic - Josh Kendall Atlanta Falcons QB Marcus Mariota's mobility will be utilized in the offense, according to quarterbacks coach Charles London. 'I think we'd be crazy if we didn't try to roll these guys out of the pocket a little bit,' London said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mariota can pull down the ball and attack a defense with his legs, so the Falcons offense will use that to their advantage. Not only can Mariota do that, but 2022 third-round pick QB Desmond Ridder is an athletic quarterback. If Ridder is being groomed to be an eventual starter in this offense it would make sense to get him on the run too. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [LAR - WR Cooper Kupp to attend minicamp]( Source: The Athletic - Jourdan Rodrigue Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp will attend mandatory minicamp next week despite ongoing contract negotiations, the wideout said on Thursday, June 2. Kupp has been in attendance during the Rams' voluntary organized team activities. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It only makes sense that he'd be at mandatory minicamp when he's been at voluntary OTAs. Kupp will get a contract that likely makes him the highest paid wide receiver in the NFL. The Rams have made getting Kupp and Aaron Donald extensions their highest priority. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [TB - TE Rob Gronkowski won't be at minicamp]() Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud Free-agent TE [Rob Gronkowski](=) (Buccaneers) will not take part in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' mandatory minicamp during the upcoming week but the team remains cautiously optimistic that he will re-sign with them before training camp begins in late July. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] If Gronkowski is going to play it's going to be for the Buccaneers. Most around the league feel that he will re-sign with the team for one more season. He and QB Tom Brady can make one more run at a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers this season. Gronkowski may not be the same player he used to be, but Fantasy GMs know that TE1 production can come from him (he's been the no.5 and no.8 fantays TE over the last two seasons in Tampa). It's not only because of his connection with Brady but it's his presence in the red zone that helps his fantasy production. [DEN - KJ Hamler back in action](=) Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis Denver Broncos WR KJ Hamler (knee) has resumed practicing. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hamler has looked fast on the practice field, but the team is going to continue being careful with him. There's still a chance he begins training camp on the PUP list just to be safe. Hamler is buried on the Broncos depth chart as the no.4 receiver behind Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick and Jerry Jeudy. Add in a tight end or two, a couple of running backs who can catch, and you can see how Hamler's fantasy production will be incredibly low unless injuries hit on the depth chart in front of him. We still like him in dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [NE - Position Switch Needed for WR Harry?]() Source: Mike Reiss - ESPN.com Mike Reiss, from ESPN.com, reports New England Patriots WR N'Keal Harry is a long shot to make the 53-man roster at his normal position. His best bet to make the team might come with a position switch to tight end. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Harry has been a first-round bust, and if he moved to tight end he could compete with guys like compete with Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene as the no.3 tight end behind Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith. We'll have to see if the Patriots want to potentially waste time with such a move. In super deep dynasty formats, you can get Harry for cheap. Go ahead and buy low if you think a change of scenery will help the former first-round pick. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [SEA - WR Tyler Lockett considered retiring](=) Source: New York Post - Zach Braziller Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett recently opened up about his mental health issues and says he considered retiring on multiple occasions. 'Two years out of my seven years in the NFL thus far I played through depression and anxiety and almost quit and had my best year,' Lockett tweeted. 'I played through trauma another year and had my best year. Moral of the story: just keep going. You never know what's waiting on the other side!' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's good that more players are coming forward to openly talk about mental health. Lockett is a playmaker who has fought through a lot to make his way in the NFL. This year, Seattle's offense is in transition as they'll move forward without QB Russell Wilson. That means Lockett's production could change depending on who wins the starting QB job and how their offense is now structured. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [NE - QB Jones Leadership 'At Another Level']() Source: Mike Reiss - ESPN.com Mike Reiss, from ESPN.com, reports New England Patriots QB Mac Jones is getting rave reviews from his teammates when it comes to leadership. "It's just at another level now," receiver Kendrick Bourne told ESPN. "He's more comfortable, more confident. He knows what's going on, and the muscle memory is there [from having gone through it] -- OTAs, then camp, and the season. He's just more locked in, more secure in his position." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ah yes, it's OTA season and that means 'teammate says other teammate is better than ever' time. In all seriousness, this report and Bourne's opinion does match up with everything we've heard about Jones all offseason. Who knows who is going to call plays, but Jones has taken on a leadership role in this offense and is looking to avoid the sophomore slump in 2022. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [TB - WR Chris Godwin on track to return early?](=) Source: PewterReport.com - Matt Matera Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (knee) could be back earlier than expected from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, his teammate and WR Cyril Grayson Jr. said. 'I think Chris is going to surprise people. I think he's going to be back sooner than everybody thinks. I'll say that,' Grayson said. 'I've been seeing him sometimes. I heard he ran 19 miles per hour the other day.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] All reports have been positive about Godwin, but let's not go overboard here. The Buccaneers are going to be careful with Godwin as he continues to recover from his late-season knee injury. Godwin tore his ACL in Week 15 and has been recovering since then. The Buccaneers will ease him into action with the idea he could be ready for the start of the regular season.
