[JAX - RB Travis Etienne open to Deebo-like role]( Source: CBSSports.com - Jonathan Jones Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne is open to having a role similar to the one San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel had in 2021. 'Football is all about matchups, so I mean if I could be like Deebo Samuel, I would love that,' Etienne stated. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Etienne certainly has a ton of speed and can make defenders look silly in the open field. He's not as powerful a runner as Samuel, but he's fast and has the ability to create his own space. Etienne is a running back, but he also can line up in the slot or out wide. After missing his entire rookie season in 2021, we're excited to see what the former Clemson star can do at the pro level...no matter where he lines up. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [DEN - WR Jerry Jeudy's case closed](=) Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis and Wilson Beese Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy had the misdemeanor charge of second-degree criminal tampering against him dropped after the judge granted a motion to dismiss on Tuesday, May 31. Jeudy can now participate in organized team activities. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jeudy was back at practice on Tuesday after missing last week with back tightness. He's looking like a first-round bust after being called the best wide receiver in the best wide receiver draft class back in 2020. Last year, Jeudy didn't catch a touchdown pass...but in his defense he was catching passes from Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater...and he wasn't healthy for a full season. Things are different with QB Russell Wilson in the Mile High City. We'll see if Jeudy can catch his eye...and catch a lot of passes from him in 2022. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CIN - Ja'Marr Chase looking to top 2021]( Source: The Athletic - Jay Morrison Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase isn't resting on his laurels ahead of the 2022 season. 'I'm not going to say what [my goals] are, but I don't think they're hard,' Chase said. 'They're a little more than last year, like catches and yards. I've still got to find my touchdown minimum.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Chase was an absolute monster during his rookie season, and his game in Week 17 against the Chiefs (11 catches, 266 yards, three touchdowns) probably won a lot of fantasy championships out there. His chemistry with QB Joe Burrow is off the charts, and Chase is one of the best deep threats in the NFL. He finished his rookie campaign with 81 catches for 1,455 yards and 13 receiving touchdowns. Those will be tough numbers to best in his sophomore season, but with Chase we're not going to doubt his ability to do just that. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [ARI - QB Kyler Murray is in the building]( Source: PHNX Sports - Bo Brack Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray was officially in attendance for organized team activities on Wednesday, June 1, and was throwing passes during his first session. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Murray wants a new contract from the Cardinals, but nothing has come to fruition yet. This could be a good-faith move from the young passer as he continues to wait for a deal. The Cardinals have put more weapons around Murray this year, and we imagine they'll get him a new contract at some point before the start of the regular season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [BAL - RB J.K. Dobbins spotted at practice](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) was spotted at practice on Wednesday, June 1, and was catching passes. However, he didn't move much and made catches while standing still. Dobbins, who is recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, is expected to start training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list but should be ready for the start of the season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Ravens will begin Dobbins on the PUP list so that he can be eased into action during training camp. We doubt he gets much if any action in the preseason. All reports right now do indicate the plan is to have him ready for Week 1 of the regular season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [CLE - QB Deshaun Watson to face 24th lawsuit]() Source: The Associated Press - Tom Withers Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson is set to face a 24th civil lawsuit, attorney Tony Buzbee revealed to the Associated Press on Wednesday, June 1. Buzbee filed a 23rd civil lawsuit alleging sexual misconduct on Tuesday, May 31. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The NFL has not made any decision on Watson's availability for the 2022 season. The Browns made a huge move to acquire him, and they paid a fully guaranteed contract to secure his services. They still have QB Baker Mayfield on the roster, but everyone thinks Jacoby Brissett would get to start if/when Watson is suspended. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [DEN - Players Buying Into Wilson/Offense]() Source: Cecil Lammey - Footballguys.com Cecil Lammey, from Footballguys.com, reports Denver Broncos players seem to have bought into what QB Russell Wilson and this offense bring to the table. During OTAs, the team has responded to Wilson's leadership and HC Nathaniel Hackett's system which lets Wilson do what he does best. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] "Let Russ Cook!" is the mantra of the Broncos this year. They're going to let him run the show in a way the Seahawks refused to allow. Wilson should lead a pass-happy offense with RB Javonte Williams there as a closer. We love Williams, but he's getting overdrafted right now. Instead, look to Wilson as a potential top-5 fantasy quarterback (he's getting drafted as a low-end QB1). Also note that WR Courtland Sutton seems to be emerging as the top target for Wilson in an offense that is custom fit for the veteran quarterback. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [CLE - RB Kareem Hunt extension up in the air](=) Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot The Cleveland Browns and RB Kareem Hunt haven't had 'substantive extension talks,' The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot reported. She also notes Hunt is 'still very much in the Browns' plans for this season.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There's no telling where Hunt is going to play in the future. However, there are plenty of rumblings about him having a sizable role with the Browns this year. In fact, there are reports coming out of Browns camp that Nick Chubb and Hunt have been seen on the field together plenty of times. From a fantasy perspective, Chubb is a low-end RB1 while Hunt is a flex play in PPR formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [PIT - Kenny Pickett not sweating depth chart]( Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Chris Adamski Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick QB Kenny Pickett is OK starting third on the depth chart. Pickett said he and seventh-round pick Chris Oladokun have been joined at the hip to learn the nuances of the NFL. 'It's kind of what I was expecting in coming in here,' Pickett said. 'Earn everything I get. Kind of how it goes in life and in the game, so I am excited to be here.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pickett is third on the depth chart right now, but he could end up as the starter in Week 1. In order to win the top job, Pickett would have to unseat veteran QB Mitchell Trubisky. That's possible if the 2021 first-round pick performs well in the preseason. However, it's also possible that he spends a lot of time during his rookie season holding a clipboard. Pickett has confidence, and he certainly could be the quarterback of the future for the Steelers. We'll see how quickly he earns his opportunity. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [TEN - Treylon Burks talks practice struggles]() Source: PaulKuharsky.com - Paul Kuharsky Tennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks briefly addressed his issues staying on the practice field because of apparent conditioning issues. 'Everything isn't perfect and I'm just going to keep attacking it like I know how,' Burks said on Wednesday, June 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Burks was the team's first-round pick, and a player tabbed to help replace A.J. Brown, but he has had a bad start to his rookie campaign. He struggled through rookie minicamp with conditioning issues and reports of drops. It's super early, and there's a lot to be excited about with his game, and the rookie has plenty of time to get things on track. He's not Deebo Samuel, as many liked to say in the pre-draft process, but his run-after-the-catch ability is what should be highlighted by the Titans offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [TEN - TEN inks WR Juwan Green]() Source: Pro Football Network - Aaron Wilson Free-agent WR Juwan Green (Lions) has signed an undisclosed contract with the Tennessee Titans after a workout on Wednesday, June 1, per a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Titans were rumored to be in the market for more help at the wide receiver position, but adding Green wasn't what most thought they would do. They perhaps aren't done adding talent in the room, but Green is a longshot to make the final roster. Undrafted out of Albany in 2020, Green has spent a couple of seasons bouncing on and off practice squads (mostly with the Falcons). [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [NE - Coaches Splitting OC Duties]() Source: Evan Lazar - CLNSMedia.com Evan Lazar, from CLNSMedia.com, reports New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick remains heavily involved in the offense. From his observations, it looks like Matt Patricia was a run-game coordinator while Joe Judge seemed to be a passing-game coordinator. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Patriots have not named an Offensive Coordinator since Josh McDaniels left to be the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. It looks like they may take a college football approach when it comes to structuring the offense by having one coach overseeing everything (Belichick) with another coach guiding the run game (Patricia) and another coach building the passing attack (Judge). Now, we'll have to see which one of these coaches will call plays for the offense. QB Mac Jones has reportedly taken ownership of the offense, and that should help. [MIN - WR Adam Thielen feeling good](=) Source: FOX 9 Minneapolis Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen says he's feeling 'fresh' and 'energetic' ahead of the 2022 season. 'I feel fresh, I feel energetic, I think the culture that's been created here is just a breath of fresh air,' he said. 'It just makes it exciting to be here and work.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Great news for the Vikings here. Thielen underwent season-ending ankle surgery in late December and has been recovering ever since. He's signed with the Vikings through the 2024 season and restructured his contract this offseason to lower his 2022 cap hit. He might not be the top-10 wide receiver he used to be from a fantasy perspective, but Thielen is still a favorite redzone target of QB Kirk Cousins. We like him in that low-end WR2 range with upside. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [NYJ - Garrett Wilson 'so locked in']() Source: JetsConfidential.com - Dan Leberfeld New York Jets WR Garrett Wilson had his work habits praised by offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur on Wednesday, June 1. 'He is so locked in,' LaFleur said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ever since he showed up on campus at Ohio State, Wilson carried himself as a professional so this report is no surprise. Wilson reminds many in the scouting community of CeeDee Lamb because of his speed and ability to make tough catches near the sidelines or back of the end zone. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [DEN - WR Hamler Could Begin Camp on PUP]( Source: Charlie Campbell - WalterFootball.com Charlie Campbell, from WalterFootball.com, reports Denver Broncos WR K.J. Hamler could begin training camp on the PUP list. Hamler is back to running fast at Broncos OTAs, but this report indicates the team wants to be cautious with the young receiver. The expectation is that he will be ready for the start of the regular season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hamler's game is all about speed, speed and more speed. The Broncos have a talented wide receiver room with Courtland Sutton as the no.1 at the position. Tim Patrick and Jerry Jeudy will be on the field quite a bit this year, and then we get to Hamler. His speed could have some packaged plays to utilize what he does best. Hamler also might get in the mix as a return man when at full strength. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [JAX - WR Shenault to Help as a Returner](=) Source: Jamal St. Cyr - WJXT4 Jamal St. Cyr, sports anchor for WJXT4, reports Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson says WR Laviska Shenault can help the team in the return game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Shenault has done little in a couple of pro seasons. He's kind of like Cordarrelle Patterson and might be better used as a running back/receiver than he has been to this point. The Jaguars are going to try and get something out of him as a return man, but he doesn't yet look natural doing that. Shenault might never be what he could have been, or he might have to wait until his second team before his natural talent starts to emerge. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [SEA - SEA has interest in QB Cam Newton]( Source: FOX Sports Radio - Sheena Quick Free-agent QB Cam Newton (Panthers) is receiving interest from the Seattle Seahawks, per source. The Carolina Panthers also remain in the mix. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This report has been out there for some time...and it makes sense. Geno Smith is currently getting the first-team reps at OTAs, and Drew Lock is running with the second team. Newton is not the same player he used to be, but he could be a better starting option than either of the Seahawks current options. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [NE - WR Agholor No.4 on Early Depth Chart]() Source: Evan Lazar - CLNSMedia.com Evan Lazar, from CLNSMedia.com, reports from New England Patriots OTAs that their top three receivers have been DeVante Parker (X), Kendrick Bourne (Z) and Jakobi Meyers (slot). That means WR Nelson Agholor has been working as no.4 on the depth chart. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fantasy GMs aren't looking to the Patriots passing game, and they're especially not getting excited about Agholor. We'll see what kind of progress QB Mac Jones can make in year two of his career. The Patriots are implementing a zone-rushing attack to lead the way on offense. The running game will set things up for Jones and this group of 'meh' receivers. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [NE - Could Take Time for Rookie WR Thornton]() Source: Evan Lazar - CLNSMedia.com Evan Lazar, from CLNSMedia.com, reports it could take a year for New England Patriots rookie WR Tyquan Thornton to make an impact as he develops his route tree and adds weight. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Patriots reached when they moved up for Thornton in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft. He's super fast and can take the top off the defense. However, Thornton needs to add strength to his frame (and his playing style), plus he needs to be a much better route runner. New England has had a tough time identifying wide receiver talent in the draft, so it wouldn't surprise if Thornton turns in a disappointing career. It's on him to improve - and the speed is certainly there - but only dynasty GMs should be monitoring the speedy rookie at this time. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [GB - Packers OC raves about Christian Watson](=) Source: The Athletic - Matt Schneidman Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson is receiving rave reviews from his offensive coordinator, Adam Stenavich. 'His combination of size and speed is great,' Stenavich said. 'He's a big guy. He can move. He's going to be a problem once he figures things out.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Another day, and another positive report about Watson from Packers camp. The Packers did not take a wide receiver (again) in the first round even though they had two picks this year. They did trade up with the Vikings to select Watson with the No. 34 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Watson can win vertically and is an explosive athlete with a nice size/sped combination. He's not polished as a route runner and will face much tougher (and more physical) competition than he did in college at the FCS level (North Dakota State). Let's see what he looks like in the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 21. [MIN - WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette will miss time]( Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Chris Tomasson Minnesota Vikings WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette (leg) is out for the rest of the spring with an unspecified lower leg injury, head coach Kevin O'Connell revealed on Wednesday, June 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith-Marsette, a fifth-round pick out of Iowa in the 2021 NFL draft, looked good in the preseason last year and had a 100-yard game against the Bears in Week 18. He's a deep threat and return specialist we'll continue to monitor in deep dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 22. [NYJ - WR Denzel Mims praised by Robert Saleh](=) Source: NewYorkJets.com New York Jets WR Denzel Mims received praise from head coach Robert Saleh on Wednesday, June 1. 'He's in fantastic shape,' Saleh noted. 'He's a lot further along today than he was a year ago.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mims hasn't done much with the Jets over the last two years, but this offseason there has been plenty of praise about his ability. A second-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft, Mims had three catches in three starts last year for the Jets - and he finished his sophomore season with only eight catches for 133 yards. Mims doesn't play special teams which hinders his ability to make the 53-man roster this year as the no.5 (at best) wide receiver on the depth chart. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 23. [TEN - WR Robert Woods provides recovery update](=) Source: ESPN.com - Turron Davenport Tennessee Titans WR Robert Woods (knee) is pleased with the progress he has made with cuts and the speed he's been able to run at while rehabbing a torn anterior cruciate ligament, he said on Wednesday, June 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] All reports about Woods have been positive this offseason. He should be ready for the start of training camp, but we imagine the Titans will ease him into action with a plan to have him ready for Week 1 of the regular season. Without A.J. Brown, the Titans will lean on Woods as perhaps their no.1 target. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
