[NO - QB Jameis Winston still limping]( Source: NewOrleans.Football - Nick Underhill New Orleans Saints QB Jameis Winston (knee) was still walking with a visible limp during organized team activities last week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Winston has been a limited participant in OTAs, and reports have mostly been positive about his recovery from the knee injury that cut his 2021 season short. His passes still have plenty of zip to them, but this report indicated most of his passes in team drills were close to the line of scrimmage. [CLE - CLE not in on WR T.Y. Hilton](=) Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot Free-agent WR T.Y. Hilton (Colts) has not received interest from the Cleveland Browns. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] According to reports, the Browns do not consider the no.2 receiver a priority. They have WR Amari Cooper as their top target, and behind him guys like Donovan Peoples-Jones and rookie David Bell will compete to establish a pecking order. There are rumblings about more than one team (besides the Colts) being interested in Hilton, but it sounds like that team is not the Browns. [CHI - Velus Jones to be fed the ball?]() Source: NFL.com - Bobby Kownack Chicago Bears WR Velus Jones is going to gain a lot of extra yards with his physical style, according to QB Justin Fields. 'He's almost like a running back at receiver,' Fields said. 'Having him on the outside and putting the ball in his hands and letting him work will be great.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A two-year starter in college at Tennessee (USC transfer), Jones was used mostly as a slot receiver and return man. He's best used on short passes he can turn into long gains. Jones is not a nuanced route runner yet, but he's dangerous after the catch with quickness, burst and speed. He should have the inside track on the slot receiver job with Darnell Mooney and Byron Pringle on the outside. [CHI - QB Justin Fields confident in WRs]( Source: Bleacher Report - Scott Polacek Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields is confident in his wide receivers, even though the group doesn't have any big names. 'We don't have an Odell [Beckham Jr.] or a Cooper Kupp on our team, but at the end of the day I think if everybody is on their P's and Q's, and we're on top of everything and not making mistakes, the players we have right now are good enough,' Fields said. 'The front office thinks that, too. The fans outside of the facility, they don't know what's going on at practice. Just because we don't have a big-name guy doesn't mean those guys aren't talented. I have plenty of confidence in myself and my teammates that we're going to get the job done.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fields gets a fresh start this year after a disastrous rookie season under former head coach Matt Nagy. He struggled playing under pressure, taking too many sacks and not attacking the perimeter of the defense. Fields will be targeting guys like WR Darnell Mooney early and often this season. Behind Mooney, we'll see how the group shakes out but it's good to hear he's got confidence in the players catching his passes. [NO - Chris Olave making good impression]( Source: The Times-Picayune - Jeff Duncan New Orleans Saints WR Chris Olave has the same traits as some top receivers, according to assistant general manager Jeff Ireland. 'He reminds me of some players who have played in our league, the Marvin Harrisons, who were just silky smooth and effortless,' Ireland said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Olave was arguably the best wide receiver coming into the league this year. He's a nuanced receiver with guile, speed and a nose for the end zone as the hallmarks of his game. Olave has 'late hands' and does a good job masking the incoming pass, plus he has the body control to make sideline and back-of-the-end-zone catches seem routine. With the injury history of WR Michael Thomas, there's a chance the rookie from Ohio State is the Saints leading receiver in 2022. [CHI - WR Darnell Mooney putting in the hours]() Source: 1 No Source Chicago Bears WR Darnell Mooney 'works harder than anybody,' according to QB Justin Fields. 'A couple nights ago, we were in the facility until 12:30 a.m. going through plays and walking through plays for the next day at practice,' Fields said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mooney was a big part of the Bears passing game in 2021, and that was with WR Allen Robinson still on the roster. With Robinson (Rams) gone, Mooney should be the top options for QB Justin Fields. He was the no.22 fantasy receiver last year (standard-scoring leagues) and can be considered a WR2 with upside for Fantasy GMs this season. [KC - QB Mahomes Says Targets Will Be Spread Around]() Source: Nate Taylor - The Athletic Nate Taylor, from The Athletic, reports Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes said things will be spread around this year in the passing game. "It's going to be everybody... Travis is still going to get a lot of completions, a lot of yards, but I think the whole receiving room is going to have big days. That can be something we can use to our advantage." Mahomes said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Without WR Tyreek Hill, things are going to look different for the Chiefs offense. Nobody knows (outside of TE Travis Kelce) who will emerge as a favorite target for Mahomes. This complicates things for Fantasy GMs...and this new idea of spreading things around could lead to headaches during the season. JuJu Smith-Schuster should do work on underneath routes with rookie Skyy Moore working into the mix as well. Add in guys like Mecole Hardman and Marquez Valdes-Scantling taking the top off the defense, and you can see how Mahomes has plenty of options.
