[CLE - D'Ernest Johnson at workouts](=) Source: BrownsWire -Jared Mueller Cleveland Browns restricted free-agent RB D'Ernest Johnson is participating in voluntary workouts even though he still has not signed his tender offer. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Johnson is due $2.43 million if he signs the tender, which isn't chump change in the running back market. No team can sign him to an offer now as the deadline passed for RFA offer sheets. He might be trying to negotiate a long term deal for more security, but the Browns took Jerome Ford in the fifth round, so they may not be eager to invest more in the position right now. Johnson should sign the tender soon, as the Browns could still rescind it and make him a free agent in a buyer's market if they get impatient. Expect Johnson to be the third string back and not worth a redraft pick, but last year he showed he is startable if Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt miss time. [LVR - RB Josh Jacobs sits out practice]( Source: The Athletic - Tashan Reed Las Vegas Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (undisclosed) did not participate in individual or team drills during practice Thursday, May 26. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Usually missing practices in the spring is no big deal, but we have to monitor these situations for signs of something more worrisome than the team lets on. In the meantime, fourth round pick Zamir White will get more opportunity to show what he can do with Kenyan Drake recovering from ankle surgery after suffering a season-ending injury in December. [NE - TE Jonnu Smith had difficulties with offense](=) Source: The Providence Journal - Mark Daniels New England Patriots TE Jonnu Smith admitted that skipping voluntary workouts and suffering a hamstring injury last year put him behind in learning the offense. He arrived early for voluntary workouts this season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith was an immense disappointment after being the first free agent signing for the Patriots in an offensive spending spree. He'll share targets with Hunter Henry, and be the second option of the two in the red zone. Smith won't have fantasy value in redraft, but could be of use in deep TE premium best ball drafts. [JAX - Chad Muma terms]() Source: The Florida Times-Union - John Reid Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars third-round pick LB Chad Muma received a four-year, $5.4 million deal. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Muma was a favorite of a lot of draft analysts after taking over for current Bengal Logan Wilson on the Wyoming defense. He'll likely be relegated a less fantasy-friendly role than Devin Lloyd or Foye Oluokun, but Muma could be an IDP breakout player if injuries or Lloyd's versatility to rush the passer gets the third off ball linebacker on the field more often. [JAX - Devin Lloyd terms]() Source: The Florida Times-Union - John Reid Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars first-round pick LB Devin Lloyd's four-year deal was worth $12.9 million with a $6.5 million signing bonus. It also includes a fifth-year option. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Jaguars wanted Lloyd enough to move back into the first round to get him. Many had him going in the top 15 picks as the first off-ball linebacker off of the board, but the Packers took Georgia's Quay Walker before Lloyd went off of the board. He can drop into coverage, rush the passer, and handle run defense duties with nearly early aplomb and should be a centerpiece of the defense. [DET - CB Jeff Okudah back in action](=) Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett Detroit Lions CB Jeff Okudah (Achilles') was a limited participant in organized team activities Thursday, May 26, on his way back from an Achilles' tear. [LAC - Zion Johnson inks rookie deal]( Source: Chargers.com First-round draft choice OG Zion Johnson (Boston College) signed a four-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, May 27. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Johnson is a safe pick who will continue the offensive rebuild to help solidify the foundation of Justin Herbert's success. He'll likely plug into the hole at right guard, next to the unsettled right tackle position, so the team will be counting on him to play at a high level right away. [HOU - Derek Stingley Jr. limited at OTAs](=) Source: Pro Football Network - Aaron Wilson Houston Texans CB Derek Stingley Jr. (foot) has been limited to individual drills during OTAs. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Stingley was the crown jewel of this rebuilding draft for the Texans. He is expected to be their instant #1 corner. Stingley had one of the best true freshman seasons in college football history in 2019, but struggled with injuries in 2020 and 2021, including a lis franc injury last year. He was healthy enough to run a 4.37 40 at his pro day earlier this spring, but the team is being extremely cautious with their franchise defensive player. [KC - WR Justin Watson catching the eye of his QB](=) Source: Chiefs Digest - Matt Derrick Kansas City Chiefs WR Justin Watson has been a 'pleasant surprise for me (during spring practices),' according to quarterback Patrick Mahomes. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We should be paying attention to any item about a Chiefs wide receiver because the longest tenured returning member - Mecole Hardman - is perenially disappointing, and who knows which of the new additions will have the best chemistry with Mahomes. Watson was once a prospect on the rise with the Bucs, but his career fizzled out there despite his having top end measureables. [NO - Veteran Running Back signing before camp coming?]( Source: Jeff Duncan - Nola.com Jeff Duncan, of Nola.com, would be surprised if the Saints did not sign a veteran running back before the start of training camp because of the uncertainty about whether Alvin Kamara will be with the team at the beginning of the season and how much of the season he'll be eligible to play after getting charged with felony battery in February stemming from an incident in Las Vegas [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mark Ingram is in the winter of his career and Tony Jones was unimpressive in limited duty last year. Dwayne Washington and Devine Ozigbo are on the roster, but don't offer a lot of upside. UDFA Abram Smith (Baylor) is a name to remember as he was a natural after converting to running back from linebacker, but Duncan has covered the team for a long time and probably has his finger on the pulse of this situation. If we're looking for speculative redraft value to hedge against a Kamara suspension, the answer might not be on the roster yet.
