[Detailed Stat Projections Give You The Edge You Need]() We love cheatsheets and rankings. And we'll do a ton of them through the summer. But the edge we have at Footballguys is we also project every stat for every player. Down to the last yard. This allows Footballguys customers to input their specific scoring system into our site and we turn projections into specific information and valuations for players in your scoring system and your league. It's a huge advantage over generic rankings. We've got another set of updated projections ready for you here. B. [Combined Rookie Draft Board](=) For years, our Dr. Jene Bramel created the Combined Rookie Draft board. It's a tier-based combined offensive and IDP ranking of the 2022 NFL Rookie Class. Dr. Jene passed the torch this year to our Jeff Bell and John Norton and they crushed it. We're excited to deliver it again. [] INSIDE THIS ISSUE 1. [MIN - TE Smith Nearly at Full Speed](#1) 2. [MIN - TE Smith Nearly at Full Speed]( Source: Sam Ekstrom - Locked On Vikings Sam Ekstrom, from Locked On Vikings, reports Minnesota Vikings TE Irv Smith (knee) was running routes at almost full speed in recent team workouts. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell said Irv Smith is "right on schedule" with his recovery from meniscus surgery, and most around the team expect him to be fully cleared for the start of training camp. This meniscus problem cost Smith all of the 2021 season, but this year he could be in line for a larger-than-expected role. The potential for TE1 numbers is there, but Smith is going undrafted in most 12-team PPR leagues at this time. Keep him in mind as a late-round pick, but definitely keep him on waiver wire speed dial this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [WAS - Big Money Deal Coming for WR McLaurin]( Source: Jeremy Fowler - ESPN.com Jeremy Fowler, from ESPN.com, reports the Washington Commanders have been somewhat reserved in free agent spending this offseason as they budget for a big-money deal for WR Terry McLaurin. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Washington has been talking about this for some time...and McLaurin has been patiently waiting. He certainly is going to be one of the highest-paid wide receivers when a contract is finally done. Most around the team feel like McLaurin could get that big payday sometime in late July - right near the start of training camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [MIN - RB Cook Lining Up in Bunch WR Sets]() Source: Chad Graff - The Athletic Chad Graff, from The Athletic, reports the Minnesota Vikings have lined up RB Dalvin Cook in bunch wide receiver sets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kevin O'Connell, new Vikings head coach, is going to mix things up with the offense - and he's certainly going to lean on the passing attack. That means Cook is going to get snaps lined up outside as a receiver in addition to the great work he can do as a runner. He's a no-brainer RB1 for Fantasy GMs, and hopefully he'll play a full season for the first time in his pro career. [CIN - WR Higgins Ready for Training Camp?]() Source: Paul Dehner - The Athletic Paul Dehner Jr, from The Athletic, reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins (shoulder) is not wearing a sling and is expected to be ready for training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Higgins played through a torn labrum last year, and he had surgery to repair his shoulder a few months ago. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said the team would keep him out of OTAs and minicamp as he recovers. However, most around the Bengals feel Higgins will be eased into action during training camp and the preseason. Higgins finished 2021 as the no.18 fantasy wide receiver in standard scoring leagues, and he should be around the same spot this season as a WR2 with WR1 upside. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NYG - HC Wants QB Jones to 'Cut it Loose']() Source: Jordan Raanan - ESPN.com Jordan Raanan, from ESPN.com, reports New York Giants HC Brian Daboll reiterated his desire for QB Daniel Jones to "cut it loose" in 2022. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Daboll's offense could be good for Jones. This is obviously a make-or-break season for the 2019 first-round pick, but Daboll's system should play to his strengths to give him the best chance to produce. In 2QB/Superflex leagues, Jones makes an intriguing late-round pick because of his system fit with Daboll and his ability to gain yards with his legs in addition to his arm. Deep shots will be taken by Jones this year - per his coach's request - but he needs to cut down on the turnovers to keep his job past this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [SEA - May Still Have Interest in QB Mayfield]() Source: Jeff Howe - The Athletic Jeff Howe, from The Athletic, reports the Seattle Seahawks "haven't ruled out" trading for Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Seahawks should still be considering Mayfield because they only have Geno Smith and Drew Lock. Smith has a slight edge to Lock in the battle for the starting quarterback position, but neither one is a great option as Seattle moves into the post-Russell Wilson era. If the Browns agree to take on more of Mayfield's $18.9 million, fully guaranteed salary a trade might get done. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family.
