[] 1. [TEN - WR Robert Woods confident in recovery]( Source: 1 No Source Tennessee Titans WR Robert Woods (knee) said Wednesday, May 18, that he feels 'really, really good' in his recovery from knee surgery. 'I actually feel like they're kind of holding me back a little bit,' Woods said. 'But really my main goal is to be ready, and be back in tip-top shape. I just want to be ready to go when it is time.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see if Woods can be ready for training camp, but things seem to be trending in that direction. The Titans could always be cautious and start him on the PUP list as they ease him into action during the preseason. Woods is in line to be the top target for the Titans now that A.J. Brown was traded away. The veteran will compete with rookie first-round pick Treylon Burks for the top spot. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CAR - Carolina still in veteran QB market](=) Source: The Associated Press - Steve Reed San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo and Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield are still of interest to the Carolina Panthers, but Steve Reed of The Associated Press reports that the Panthers will not trade with the 49ers or Browns unless those teams agree to pick up a large portion of the quarterback's salary. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No surprise here. They're trying to find a replacement for QB Sam Darnold and HC Matt Rhule is on the hottest of hot seats. They did select Ole Miss QB Matt Corral, but he might be more of a developmental guy than someone who can push for the starting job this year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CLE - David Bell frontrunner for slot role?](=) Source: ClevelandBrowns.com Cleveland Browns rookie WR David Bell could be the frontrunner to start as the slot receiver, in the opinion of Andrew Poisal of Browns.com. 'The frontrunner to be next for the role could be third-round rookie David Bell, who had three seasons of top-tier production at Purdue and possesses a strong set of hands that should work well in the position. The Browns appear ready to work Bell in both slot and outside roles, but the slot role could be primarily his if he performs well in training camp,' said Poisal.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bell projects as a high-floor/low-ceiling starter in the NFL. He lacks dynamic speed, but Bell wins with size, strength and body control. Bell is a savvy pass-catcher who reminds some in the scouting community of Michael Pittman. We'll see if he can improve his consistency after the catch to make the most of his rookie season in the pros. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [NE - Team 'Ecstatic' with QB Jones Dedication](=) Source: Jeff Howe - The Athletic Jeff Howe, from The Athletic, reports the New England Patriots are "ecstatic" with QB Mac Jones offseason dedication. According to Howe's report, Jones has spent long hours at Gillette Stadium, often beating the coaching staff into the building. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones is a grinder, and he always has been dating back to his days in college at Alabama. He's taking ownership of the offense per Howe, accentuating plays he likes while shutting down plays he's not a fan of. We'll see if the Patriots trust him to do more than lead their run-heavy offense in 2022. From a fantasy perspective, Jones is a low-end, highly efficient QB2. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [BAL - QB Jackson's Contract Situation Being Monitored]() Source: Jeff Howe - The Athletic Jeff Howe, from The Athletic, reports Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson's contract situation is being monitored by NFL executives around the NFL. "Executives around the league are certainly monitoring the situation from afar, wondering of course whether Jackson would ever become available if these nontraditional negotiations go sideways." Howe said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Ravens insist a new contract will be worked out with Jackson but until it's done there's always a chance he could be available for the right price. The league has transformed into a trade-happy league, and quarterbacks are always going to get a premium haul (or at least a big haul like what Seattle got for Russell Wilson). Jackson's in the final year of his contract, but the Ravens could place the franchise tag on him for multiple years to keep him around at a premium price. [] 6. [LAR - WR Allen Robinson poised for 1,000 and 10 season?](=) Source: RamsWire - Cameron DaSilva Los Angeles Rams WR Allen Robinson could find his way into producing 1,000 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns during the 2022 season, in the opinion of RamsWire's Cam DaSilva. 'He sees the presence of [Cooper] Kupp as 'a tremendous help,' so there are no concerns whatsoever about his target share. It'll be tough to top his 1,400-yard season in 2015, but Robinson is poised to top 1,000 yards and potentially 10 touchdowns again this year,' said DaSilva. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Robinson gets to play with QB Matthew Stafford, the best passer he's had in his pro career. He'll work as a chain-mover for the Rams with WR Cooper Kupp. Robinson was a top-5 fantasy receiver years ago (2015), but we think he could produce like a low-end WR1 for Fantasy GMs - and he was no.12 in fantasy points at the position twice with the Bears (2019, 2020). Career-best numbers are a possibility for Robinson, making him a WR2 with upside for Fantasy GMs in 2022. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [IND - Jelani Woods under contract](=) Source: Colts.com Third-round draft choice TE Jelani Woods (Virginia) signed a four-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts on Friday, May 20. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Woods is a huge prospect at the tight end position, so he can at least be a red zone threat in the pros if not more. He's got a huge wingspan and as a former quarterback he knows how to sit down in the soft spot of a zone. Woods begins his pro career as a reserve with the Colts behind starting TE Mo Alie-Cox. We'll keep track of him in dynasty formats because the upside is there for him to be a weapon in the NFL someday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [ARI - WR Brown Set to Be Among Highest Paid]() Source: Jeff Howe - The Athletic Jeff Howe, from The Athletic, believes Arizona Cardinals WR Marquise Brown is set to become one of the highest-paid players in the league at his position. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brown has a new team with an old teammate - his college QB Kyler Murray. If he stays healthy, Brown should be able to cash in with a big money deal. Coming off career-best numbers with the Ravens, Brown is looking to do even more this season. The Cardinals could offer Brown an extension at some point in the future because he deserves it and WR DeAndre Hopkins isn't getting any younger. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [DET - Jameson Williams could be ready in September?]() Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman Detroit Lions WR Jameson Williams (knee) believes he has a chance to be recovered enough from his torn anterior cruciate ligament to be ready for training camp in August. If so, Tim Twentyman of the team's website believes Williams could be on the field at some point during the first month of the season, suggesting a late September or early October debut. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams was injured in the National Championship Game, but the Lions felt strongly enough about his skill set to move up in the first round to select him. Reports have indicated he's making good progress and should be ready for the beginning of the regular season. He's likely to begin training camp on the PUP list, which means starting on PUP for the regular season is possible if the team feels he needs more time to heal. If he's on the field in Week 1, expect the Lions to ease him into action. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [MIN - QB Kellen Mond catching the eye of his head coach]( Source: Sports Illustrated - Will Ragatz Minnesota Vikings QB Kellen Mond is 'having a good spring so far' and 'digesting the system,' according to head coach Kevin O'Connell.'Kellen's having a good spring so far, working incredibly hard, digesting the system. He made a couple checks yesterday at the LOS that he wasn't prepared play by play for...he just instinctively did it. Those are the little things you look for,' O'Connell said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mond did not impress the staff last year as a rookie. A third-round pick out of Texas A&M in the 2021 NFL draft, Mond has some Colin Kaepernick to his game. He is athletic and has a good arm to make throws on the run, but his reads are simple and he needs to get better at making full field scans before taking off. We'll see how he meshes with the new staff, but it seems like he's fitting in better with O'Connell - a noted quarterback whisperer. Take note in dynasty formats as some were quick to move on from the young passer. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
