[] 1. [MIN - RB Dalvin Cook getting looks at WR]() Source: The Athletic - Chad Graff Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook has been lining up in bunch wide receiver sets in multiple formations during the team's organized team activities, The Athletic's Chad Graff reported on Tuesday, May 17. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] KJ Osborn is the team's #3 receiver, but Alexander Mattison appeared to take a step forward last year, so perhaps putting Cook in the slot at times could give them their strongest personnel set. New head coach Kevin O'Connell could also be experimenting, so we'll wait to see if this carries over to camp before changing any projections for the usage of Cook, Osborn, and Mattison. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [MIN - TE Irv Smith making progress]( Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Chris Tomasson Minnesota Vikings TE Irv Smith (knee) did some work during the team's workout on Tuesday, May 17, and is making progress in his rehab for a torn meniscus. 'He's little by little every single day doing more and more,' head coach Kevin O'Connell said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith's meniscus injury was on the serious side, as it shut him down before the season began and he's still not full speed. If he comes back without incident, he should be the #3 option in the passing game and a possible fantasy TE1. He turns 24 in August despite already being in the league for three years. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NFL - Serious injury for RB Tarik Cohen]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Tarik Cohen (Achilles) suffered a torn Achilles' tendon during his workout Tuesday, May 17. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Devastating news for Cohen, who was coming back from an ACL tear in 2020 after not playing last year. This could be it for the diminutive playmaker, which is sad because he peaked at age 23 with over 1000 total yards and eight scores, suggesting the best was yet to come if he had remained healthy. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [ATL - QB Marcus Mariota tops the depth chart]() Source: The Athletic - Josh Kendall Atlanta Falcons QB Marcus Mariota is at the top of the quarterback depth chart ahead of the 2022 season, head coach Arthur Smith said recently. 'We've added competition certainly,' Smith said. 'Marcus being the veteran gives us a chance going forward. As with any position on this team, the best player is going to play, but obviously Marcus being the vet, that's the way it'll go starting out.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Third-round pick Desmond Ridder was reportedly the team's top quarterback in this year's class. While they didn't feel any urgency to move up to ensure they got him before the third round, that won't matter if Mariota falters or Ridder impresses in camp and the preseason. Both are good enough threats to produce as runners and the Falcons are likely to be playing from behind a lot, so both have value in superflex leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [TEN - TEN open to RB Derrick Henry extension]( Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry could get a one- or two-year contract extension in order to lower his 2022 and 2023 cap hits of $15 million and $15.5 million, respectively, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This would clear up uncertainty about whether Henry will be on the team next year with a $12.5 million salary and only three million dead cap hit if he is released after next year. The team took Michigan RB Hassan Haskins in the fourth round this year, so an extension for Henry would hurt Haskins speculative dynasty value. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [CIN - Daxton Hill agrees to terms](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Cincinnati Bengals first-round pick S Daxton Hill agreed to an undisclosed four-year deal Wednesday, May 18. The deal includes a fifth-year option. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hill is a jack of all trades in the secondary, doing everything from covering the slot receiver to playing center field to coming up to support against the run. He'll greatly help a defense that will probably show a lot more three safety looks with the excellent duo of Vonn Bell and Jessie Bates in tow. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [JAX - Travon Walker adjusting to OLB]() Source: Jaguars.com - John Oehser Jacksonville Jaguars No. 1 overall pick DE Travon Walker is extensively working at outside linebacker in minicamps. 'Just strictly working on outside linebacker things in practice I feel like I'm truly getting more comfortable with the position,' Walker said. 'There's always room for improvement. At Georgia we ran a lot of techniques, but once I got here, [I had to] break down a lot of those techniques that I learned at Georgia, and focus on that one thing. I (dropped into coverage) at Georgia, so I'm kind of used to it. But now, I'm working on it a lot more getting into seven-on-seven, so I'll get a lot more comfortable with dropping instead of just dropping every now and then.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There's good reason to think Walker can adjust to outside linebacker, but it's not that often that a team takes a player #1 overall to play a different role than he did in college. Walker was more of a high ceiling projection than #2 pick Aidan Hutchinson, who was a high floor complete all-around end. With Walker and "the other" Josh Allen, the Jaguars could sport the best edge duo in the league sooner than later. [] 8. [NYJ - Garrett Wilson agrees to terms]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter New York Jets WR Garrett Wilson agreed to terms on a fully guaranteed four-year, $20.55 million rookie contract on Wednesday, May 18, per source. The deal will carry a fifth-year team option. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wilson will definitely get on the field in three-wide sets, but he'll have to overcome one of Corey Davis and Elijah Moore to be a true starter in the Jets offense. He's probably more of a wait-and-see prospect in redraft leagues with Zach Wilson still learning the ropes at quarterback entering his second year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [DAL - Jalen Tolbert impresses coaches](=) Source: DallasCowboys.com Dallas Cowboys WR Jalen Tolbert impressed his coaches at rookie minicamp. 'He's awesome,' offensive coordinator Kellen Moore said of the 2022 third-round pick. 'I think he works his tail off. I think you can tell how prepared he is and how detailed he wants to be. I think he's going to be a really good addition for us.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Tolbert has made a good first impression, which could be an important step to being one of the few rookies to start at wide receiver in Week 1. James Washington is his main competition, although Michael Gallup will obviously get the #2 job back when he is recovered from a January ACL tear. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [PHI - CB James Bradberry agrees with Eagles](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Free-agent CB James Bradberry (Giants) agreed to a one-year, $10 million deal Wednesday, May 18, with the Philadelphia Eagles. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bradberry gives the Eagles a big corner to match up against size at wide receiver while Darius Slay ties up #1 receivers and Avonte Maddox does his typical excellent work in the slot. The Eagles have improved on both sides of the ball and should push the Cowboys for the division title. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [IND - WR Parris Campbell fully participating]( Source: The Athletic - Stephen Holder Indianapolis Colts WR Parris Campbell has been fully participating in team drills during organized team activities, he revealed on Wednesday, May 18. Campbell also noted that this is his first offseason in the NFL in which he is fully healthy. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Campbell will battle with second-round pick Alec Pierce to start opposite Michael Pittman. He has been a training camp standout in previous years, but hasn't been able to stay on the field. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [LAR - Andrew Whitworth not ruling out return]( Source: TMZ.com Retired OT Andrew Whitworth is not ruling out a return to the NFL, he told TMZ. 'You never say never. I did learn that,' Whitworth said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Whitworth could keep himself in football shape, but wait until later in the season when a playoff contender (maybe even his old Rams team) needs help because of an injury. Still, the smart bet is that he has played his last down in the NFL after finally winning a ring in his last game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [ARI - Keaontay Ingram could have fantasy relevance]( Source: ESPN - Eric Moody Arizona Cardinals RB Keaontay Ingram may have 'huge fantasy potential in 2022,' ESPN's Eric Moody speculated. 'Ingram replaces Chase Edmonds, who averaged 13.3 touches last year and signed with the Dolphins during the offseason. With his rushing and receiving skills, Ingram can help Arizona fill this void. James Conner was re-signed after a fantastic 2021 season, but Ingram may have huge fantasy potential in 2022 given Conner's injury history.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Eno Benjamin hasn't distinguished himself since Arizona took him in the seventh round two years ago, and he's Ingram's main competition for the backup role to James Conner, who hasn't made it through a season without missing at least two games. Ingram should be on your dynasty and redraft radar. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
