[PIT - Calvin Austin's size not a concern for PIT](#11) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [TB - TE Rob Gronkowski still undecided]() Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud Free-agent TE [Rob Gronkowski](=) (Buccaneers) remains undecided about playing in 2022 and there is no timetable for his decision, Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said on Friday, May 13. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gronkowski doesn't need to make a decision anytime soon. In fact, we might get to training camp and the preseason before he makes a decision to play football. Gronkowski has admitted himself that it would take him only a couple of weeks to get ready to play. If he does play this season it will be for the Buccaneers with his best buddy QB Tom Brady - so now we wait (some more). [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [PIT - Ben Roethlisberger offers to help Kenny Pickett]( Source: The Athletic - Mark Kaboly Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett says the team's former signal-caller, Ben Roethlisberger, reached out to the rookie to offer his help if Pickett needs it. 'He said he is always there for me if I have any questions or advice,' Pickett said. 'He is an unbelievable player, a Hall of Famer. He is a guy who I will definitely use as a resource these coming weeks.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pickett practiced at the same facility for PITT that he will be working in now that he's with the Steelers. It just makes sense that Roethlisberger would help out the rookie quarterback as he learns the pro game. Pickett could push Mitchell Trubisky for the starting job in training camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CAR - Matt Corral motivated by draft slide]( Source: PanthersWire - Anthony Rizzuti Carolina Panthers QB Matt Corral says his draft slide made the chip on his shoulder even bigger. 'I mean, I had a chip on my shoulder before. But it just got even bigger,' Corral admitted. 'It was, for sure, a roller coaster. Bunch of mixed emotions. When I got that phone call, I have truly never been happy and sad at the same time. I've never felt that before.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Corral has had to overcome doubters before, so this is nothing new. He's a modern-day quarterback with the ability to hurt a defense with his legs and his arm. Corral is courageous as a passer, often exhausting all options before taking off to run. However, he plays with little regard for his personal safety which makes injuries a concern. We'll see how much he can push QB Sam Darnold for the starting job with the Panthers in training camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [WAS - WR Terry McLaurin not close to extension]( Source: SI.com - Albert Breer Negotiations on a contract extension between the Washington Commanders and WR Terry McLaurin 'haven't really started,' according to SI.com's Albert Breer. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With the way that wide receivers are getting paid, McLaurin will be in line to be one of the highest-paid at his position when a new deal is done. With the way Washington does business, those around the team say that late July is the expected timetable for a deal like McLaurin's to get done. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NE - Kevin Harris signed]() Source: Boston Herald - Karen Guregian The New England Patriots signed sixth-round draft choice RB Kevin Harris Friday, May 13. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Harris was seen as a late-round pick by most in the scouting community. His draft stock was dinged by a back injury that required surgery and limited his production for the Gamecocks in 2021. As a pro, Harris brings determination and consistency to the field as a thumper between the tackles. Harris faces an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster, but he could impress enough to make the practice squad. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [PIT - Pittsburgh signs three rookies]() Source: Pro Football Network - Aaron Wilson Pittsburgh Steelers sixth-round draft choice TE Connor Heyward, seventh-round draft choice LB Mark Robinson and seventh-round draft choice QB Chris Oladokun signed four-year contracts with the Steelers Friday, May 13. Financial terms were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Oladokun had plenty of interest for a late-round prospect in a quarterback class that was generally regarded as being poor overall. He's got the traits of a modern quarterback with functional athleticism and a calm mind when under pressure. He played at three different colleges (South Florida, Samford, South Dakota State) and needs tons of mechanical work, but Oladokun could land on the Steelers practice squad. Because of his skill set, we'll be watching him in crazy deep dynasty formats. [BAL - TE Nick Boyle restructures deal]( Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates Baltimore Ravens TE Nick Boyle agreed to a restructured contract Friday, May 13, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The new deal lowers his $5 million salary to $1.12 million with a $2.63 million signing bonus and $1.25 million in available incentives. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [TEN - Treylon Burks practices in full]() Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt Tennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks (undisclosed) practiced in full on Saturday, May 14, after leaving rookie minicamp practice early on Friday, May 13, with what appeared to be conditioning issues. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Welcome to the NFL rookie. Burks is an exciting first-round pick who is a strong receiver with run-after-the-catch ability. With A.J. Brown traded away, Burks is in line to be a primary target for QB Ryan Tannehill. We're sure he'll get conditioned and up to speed in the near future, then we'll see what he kind of chemistry he can build in the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [TEN - Kyle Philips impressive on Day 1]( Source: The Tennessean - Ben Arthur Tennessee Titans WR Kyle Philips was tabbed as the best player on the field on Day 1 at rookie minicamp on Friday, May 13, according to Ben Arthur of the Tennessean. 'Kyle Philips was the best player on first day of rookie minicamp. Made some impressive catches. Gets in and out of breaks quickly. Shifty. Everything you see on his UCLA tape,' Arthur wrote. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Philips led the Bruins over each of the last three seasons. Now, he gets to take his talents to the pro level with the Titans. He's a quicker-than-fast slot-only receiver who can contribute as a return man. Philips is tough and competitive as a receiver, but his fantasy value is going to be limited by the offense. However, he's going to be a fun one to watch in the NFL. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [IND - Alec Pierce leaves minicamp debut early]( Source: ColtsWire - Kevin Hickey Indianapolis Colts WR Alec Pierce (undisclosed) left rookie minicamp practice early on Friday, May 13, with an undisclosed injury. 'Yeah, I think he's fine,' head coach Frank Reich said of Pierce. 'I mean, I really didn't check into it that deeply. I think just a little bit of dehydration, and just wanting to play it safe.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This sounds like it's nothing but we'll see what Pierce can do as the team continues offseason work after rookie minicamp. Pierce is a long receiver who eats up yards with big strides. He has strong hands and good concentration, winning many passes at the catch point. Around 72.5 percent of his catches went for a first down or a touchdown with the Cincinnati Bearcats over the last two years, so Pierce is obviously someone who can move the chains. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [PIT - Calvin Austin's size not a concern for PIT]( Source: Steelers.com - Teresa Varley Pittsburgh Steelers WR Calvin Austin isn't drawing concern from the team about his lack of size thanks to his speed. 'Speed, speed. Run extremely fast. When you're small man, you better be fast in this game,' head coach Mike Tomlin said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Austin was a big-play weapon in college at Memphis - both as a receiver and return man. He's set to be the same thing in the same manner for the Steelers. Austin has 4.32 speed and the quickness to make defenders look silly in the open field. His size is an issue, but he's tough to get a bead on because he's so fast. The Steelers know how to find wide receiver talent, and they've got a room jam-packed with playmakers. Austin will be a reserve receiver and returner for the Steelers - and he will be dangerous anytime he touches the ball.
