[TB - TE Gronkowski Only Needs 2 Weeks to Be Ready](=) Source: Jaclyn Hendricks - New York Post Gronkwoski believes it won't take long for him to get up to speed if/when he comes out of retirement. "I feel like I can get ready at any time for football, like it'll take me two weeks only, so, I'm not really worried about it," he said. "It's just cool just to be doing other things and enjoying them." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] In this interview, Gronkowski also confirmed that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the only team he'll play for. Once QB Tom Brady decided to come out of retirement, it was only going to be a matter of time before Gronkowski decided to play again as well. He hasn't officially said what he's going to do, but everyone expects Gronkowski to sign with the Buccaneers at some point before training camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CHI - Velus Jones drawing early praise from OC]() Source: Chicago Tribune - Brad Biggs Chicago Bears WR Velus Jones was praised by offensive coordinator Luke Getsy for his work in meetings. Getsy also noted that Jones is ready for the NFL. 'He's a physically mature dude. I mean he can handle this league, you can see that already. Then the speed just jumped at you on the tape. When that guy gets the ball in his hands, he looks like 4.3 on the field. Not many guys can do that.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Velus Jones was a surprise pick in Round 3 by the Bears. The good news is Chicago has plenty of availability for a key role on the wide receiver depth chart beyond Darnell Mooney. The bad news is Jones is on the old side as an incoming rookie and sparsely produced in his collegiate career. Jones has the athleticism to pop for big plays if targets and a steady role find him this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CHI - QB Justin Fields impressing offensive coordinator]() Source: Chicago Tribune - Brad Biggs Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields has impressed offensive coordinator Luke Getsy with his dedication to learning the offense. 'Getsy also said he's been struck with how dedicated QB Justin Fields has been to putting in the work necessary to learn the offense,' Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The team has to find out of Fields can be their franchise quarterback. After one season under former head coach Matt Nagy, it's good news that Fields is impressing the new staff. Getsy's job will to be to get the best out of Fields in an offense that is crafted towards his ability (which includes his dangerous ability as a runner). [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [LVR - RB Kenyan Drake on the mend](=) Source: The Athletic - Vic Tafur and Tashan Reed Las Vegas Raiders RB Kenyan Drake (ankle) is 'recovering nicely' from the broken ankle he suffered last season, according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kenyan Drake is venturing into a competition with notable rookie addition Isaiah Spiller for the roles behind Raiders' starter Josh Jacobs. Any misstep, by injury or otherwise, for Drake can push the Raiders towards Spiller. The Raiders have no financial commitment to Drake beyond 2022. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [KC - Skyy Moore nursing hamstring injury]() Source: The Athletic - Nate Taylor Kansas City Chiefs WR Skyy Moore (hamstring) could be limited by a hamstring injury during rookie minicamp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Skyy Moore was one of the most intriguing NFL Draft selections at wide receiver, landing with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. It is very early in the process, but only injury - like if this hamstring lingered - would temper fantasy expectations for Moore entering training camp and the preseason. [BAL - Doubling Down on Run-Heavy Offense?]() Source: Mike Sando - The Athletic Mike Sando, from the Athletic, believes that the Baltimore Ravens additions in the 2022 NFL draft suggest they are "doubling down" on their run-heavy offense. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Ravens traded away wide receiver Marquise Brown, they drafted two tight ends (Charlie Kolar, Isaiah Likely), and they did not select a tight end in the 2022 NFL draft. Baltimore tried to have more balance on offense last year, and that might be out the window this season. Superstar QB Lamar Jackson is still dangerous with his legs when healthy, and the team will run the ball early and often as the best way they can attack a defense. Look at the offensive numbers in 2019/2020 when projecting what the Ravens could do this year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [CLE - Cleveland not pursuing two veteran WRs]( Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot Free-agent WR Will Fuller (Dolphins) and WR Cole Beasley (Bills) are not receiving interest from the Cleveland Browns at this point. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Browns are also not likely to bring back Jarvis Landry. We'll see what the team wants to do in order to add more wide receiving talent around QB Deshaun Watson. Fuller can still take the top off a defense when healthy, and Beasley can work underneath routes to get open. Both veteran receivers should find landing spots before or perhaps even during training camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [DAL - Establishing the Run is Big per Elliott](=) Source: Jori Epstein - USA Today Jori Epstein, from USA Today Sports, reports Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott believes that establishing the run is "big" for the team's offense. "Just the ability to keep (Prescott) clean, give him the ability to go out there and go through his reads and throw the ball on time to the playmakers we have outside -- that's big. Establishing the run is big for our team and going to be important for us this year. I think the pick we made in the first round will help us." Elliott told USA Today Sports. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Elliott is a fan of what the team did through the 2022 NFL draft, and Fantasy GMs are hoping he's in for a bounce-back season. His statistical output was "ok" last season, but it's nowhere near what Elliott did in previous seasons (2016, 2018, 2019). He will work with Tony Pollard in the Cowboys backfield once again this season. Elliott has a current ADP of RB14 (3.01) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [DET - Rookie TE Mitchell To Be Cleared By June?]( Source: Benjamin Raven - MLive.com Benjamin Raven, from MLive.com, reports Detroit Lions rookie tight end James Mitchell expects to be fully cleared from his ACL injury by June. "Yeah, so I'm seven months out, seven months and some weeks," Mitchell said via Zoom. "I'm pretty much back. I'm doing everything from running, cutting, running routes. I'm expected to be fully cleared by June at the latest. I'll be ready to go by training camp. I'm excited." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Some in the draft media had called Mitchell 'the forgotten tight end' because of the ACL injury suffered in September 2021 which caused him to miss most of his final season at Virginia Tech. There is no doubt he would have been drafted higher if not for the injury. Mitchell is the type of tight end who can attack all three levels of the field. He's got strong hands, good body control, and brings a basketball skill set to the H-back/TE position. We'll monitor Mitchell in super deep dynasty formats as he'll begin his pro career as a backup to T.J. Hockenson. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [NYJ - QB Zach Wilson draws praise from Robert Saleh](=) Source: New York Post - Brian Costello New York Jets QB Zach Wilson drew praise from head coach Robert Saleh on Saturday, May 7. Saleh says Wilson 'looks good' and 'beefy' after adding more to his frame, while also noting it hasn't impacted his throwing. In addition, Saleh praised Wilson for his 'really good command' of the offense. 'There's little things that he's doing where you're seeing a little more security. And he's not a rookie, so he's being a little more vocal. So, he looks good. He's getting more comfortable.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Zach Wilson enters a critical Year 2 to build upon his sporadic flashes in 2021. The Jets, unlike the Bears with Justin Fields, have spent significant capital surrounding Wilson with skill position weapons, including Garrett Wilson (Round 1) and Jeremy Ruckert (Round 3) in this year's draft.
