[SF - Things improving with SF and WR Deebo Samuel?](#13) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [PIT - No Concern About Pickett's Hand Size]() Source: Michael David Smith - Pro Football Talk Michael David Smith, from Pro Football Talk, reports Pittsburgh Steelers GM Kevin Colbert said the team had zero concern about quarterback Kenny Pickett's hand size. "Honestly, I never paid attention to that," Colbert said. "We look at the results. We watch Kenny play in our environment. ... Can he throw the football? Absolutely. Did he have an excessive fumble rate? No, he didn't. We just judge it on how he played." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pickett's small hands were quite the topic in the pre-draft process. Some teams had concerns about his hand size because of his 39 fumbles in college at PITT. The Steelers weren't one of those teams, and they selected him in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft. Pickett will compete with Mitchell Trubisky for the starting job this season and is considered the quarterback of the future. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [TEN - QB Tannehill 'Shocked' by Brown Trade]() Source: Aaron Wilson - Pro Football Network Aaron Wilson, from Pro Football Network, reports Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill was 'shocked' by the team's trade of wide receiver A.J. Brown. "When I first found out, I'm like, 'This isn't real, this isn't happening, it's a rumor,'" Tannehill said. "And then, I talked to A.J. and found out it was real. I slept terrible that night and kept thinking it was just a bad dream, but that's where we're at." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Tannehill is going to have to get used to life without the superstar Brown. The Titans replaced Brown with 2022 first-round pick Treylon Burks, but it could take time for him to get up to speed in the NFL. That's time Tannehill can't afford as he's on the hot seat this season - especially with rookie QB Malik Willis right behind him. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CLE - No move for QB Baker Mayfield until June?]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield could be staying put with the team until June at the earliest, in the opinion of NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Wednesday, May 4. 'I don't get the sense that anything will happen with Baker Mayfield until June at the earliest,' Rapoport said on the Pat McAfee Show. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The date to move on from Mayfield keeps moving back. It was going to happen during Day 2 of the 2022 NFL draft but that was a week ago. Mayfield is still on the roster, but the team has clearly moved on with Deshaun Watson as their starter. A team like the Seahawks could still be interested in adding Mayfield, but the trade compensation won't be as much as the Browns originally wanted. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [WAS - Cole Turner more of a big WR?]() Source: NBC Sports Washington - JP Finlay Washington Commanders TE Cole Turner has the potential to be used more as a big wide receiver in the passing game rather than a traditional tight end, a league source told JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington. Turner was a fifth-round pick by the Commanders in the 2022 NFL draft. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Turner was a wide receiver for the first two years in college at Nevada. He transitioned to tight end in 2020 and was first team All Mountain West. Turner is a big-bodied target with good ball skills and body control. We'll monitor him in dynasty formats because Turner has the skill to be a weapon in the pros if he plays up to his potential. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [HOU - Dameon Pierce to be involved?]() Source: The Athletic - Aaron Reiss Houston Texans RB Dameon Pierce should 'immediately compete for carries' as a rookie, according to Aaron Reiss of The Athletic. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pierce is a name all Fantasy GMs need to know. Marlon Mack is the top back on the depth chart right now, but Pierce could beat him out in training camp. At least, the rookie from Florida could impress enough that he earns a larger-than-expected role. Pierce has the skill to be an every-down runner in the league, and he plays with a nice blend of quickness and physicality. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [NO - RB Sony Michel to visit Saints](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Free-agent RB Sony Michel (Rams) will visit the New Orleans Saints later this week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Keep an eye on this situation as we head towards mandatory minicamps next month. The Saints could add another player to the backfield to work behind Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara. We like undrafted rookie Abram Smith (Baylor) as a super sleeper in that backfield, and adding Michel would ding that notion. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [MIA - RB Sony Michel visits Dolphins](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Free-agent RB Sony Michel (Rams) met with the Miami Dolphins Wednesday, May 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Michel appeared in all 17 games for the Rams last season, and there was a window (in the fantasy playoffs) where he was a key fantasy player. He's getting interest now after the draft and could land with a team before mandatory minicamps start next month. The Dolphins will run the ball early and often under new head coach Mike McDaniel, and they currently have Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert as their top two backs. [TB - Gronkowski To Return or Retire?]() Source: Greg Auman - The Athletic Greg Auman, from The Athletic, believes it's more likely that tight end [Rob Gronkowski](=) returns to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers than retire from football. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] When Tom Brady came back from his one-month retirement, many thought that Gronkowski would follow him. That's not yet the case, but the door is always open for Gronkowski to stay with the Buccaneers. They spent a fourth-round pick on TE Cade Otton and currently have Cameron Brate at the top of the depth chart. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [TEN - WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine wants more]( Source: TennesseeTitans.com - Jim Wyatt Tennessee Titans WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine said he has been working on becoming a more 'complete receiver overall' this offseason. 'Being consistent, but being more explosive, working on getting yards after catch, making contested catches, getting separation,' Westbrook-Ikhine said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Titans have changed up their receiving room from last year, creating opportunity for Westbrook-Ikhine. Gone are A.J. Brown and Julio Jones, replaced by Robert Woods and rookie first-round pick Treylon Burks. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [WAS - Brian Robinson Jr. primed for big role?]( Source: 106.7 The Fan - Grant Paulsen Washington Commanders RBs Brian Robinson Jr. was chosen in the 2022 NFL Draft with an eye on pairing him with Antonio Gibson in the same kind of way head coach Ron Rivera utilized DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart with the Carolina Panthers from 2011-14. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ah, yes...the old Williams/Stewart RBBC which confounded Fantasy GMs for years could now be back in play for Rivera again. We all know how Gibson can work well as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. The Commanders could give Robinson some work to spell Gibson - or they could give him 40 percent of the work. We'll see how this shakes out in the preseason, but know that Robinson is a hungry downfield runner who can pick up yards after contact regularly. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [NE - D'Eriq King to play multiple positions]() Source: Pro Football Network - Aaron Wilson New England Patriots QB D'Eriq King will be 'given the chance to prove himself in a multidimensional role' and could line up anywhere from quarterback to wide receiver, running back or as a kick returner, per Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Of course King is going to play different positions - the Patriots picked him up! A quarterback for the Miami Hurricanes, NFL scouts wanted to see King work at wide receiver during the week of practice for the East-West Shrine Bowl earlier this year. King has a sick spin move, speed, foot quickness and is good in the open field with the ball in his hands. A team like the Patriots should be able to get the most out of him - whatever that may be. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [GB - Christian Watson in line for versatile role?]( Source: PackersWire - Zach Kruse Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson could be used in a variety of ways outside of simply being a boundary WR, in the opinion of Zack Kruse of Packers Wire. 'Watson is also versatile. He played snaps at running back for NDSU, and he was an All-American kick returner. In LaFleur's offense, Watson could be used as a perimeter deep threat, gadget weapon or even in the backfield,' said Kruse. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Watson has a great size/speed combination and can get by defenders in a hurry. He was one of the best deep threats in the FCS, and he averaged 20.4 yards per reception for his college career at North Dakota State. Watson was primarily an outside receiver for the Bison, but there are ways to get creative with a player who has his skill set. We'll see how quickly he can make the jump from the FCS to the NFL, but Watson did show well at the Senior Bowl practices earlier this year against some of the best in major college football. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [SF - Things improving with SF and WR Deebo Samuel?](=) Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Michael David Smith San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel re-followed the team on Instagram, and he also liked an Instagram post about 49ers general manager John Lynch saying that the issues between the team and Samuel can be worked out. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Lynch has constantly emphasized that things will get done between the team and Samuel. We'll take him at his word and see if the team does come to terms with Samuel on a contract that makes him one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the NFL. It's not over until the ink is dry, but things seem to be on the right track between the two sides.
