[NFL - Kenny Pickett an instant starter?]( Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Pittsburgh QB Kenny Pickett is 'probably the most "pro-ready" quarterback in the 2022 NFL Draft, according to an AFC executive. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There's no such thing as "pro-ready" but there are players more prepared for the pro game than others. Pickett is arguably the top quarterback in this draft class because of what he can do as a passer - either from the pocket or on the run. He's capable of making quick reads and willing to throw into NFL windows. When the play breaks down, Pickett is enough of a threat to run to be a concern for defenses. We could see him go off the board in the top 10 of the 2022 NFL draft. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NFL - Red flags for Desmond Ridder?]( Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Cincinnati QB Desmond Ridder's 'accuracy is a problem,' an NFC executive told Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com during Senior Bowl practices. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ridder is a "toolsy" quarterback who has everything a new-era pro passer needs. He's just raw in terms of making NFL decisions with the ball. Cincinnati's offense didn't challenge him to throw into NFL windows that often, and you saw at the Senior Bowl he would sometimes hesitate to do that. If Ridder can get used to the speed and discipline of defenders in the NFL, he could get better at "letting it rip" as a passer. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [GB - John Dunn named tight ends coach](=) Source: The Athletic - Matt Schneidman The Green Bay Packers promoted senior analyst John Dunn to tight ends coach Saturday, Feb. 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Dunn replaces Justin Outten who went to the Broncos to be their offensive coordinator. Massive changes for Green Bay as the Packers have now lost Outten, Nathaniel Hackett, and Luke Getsy from their 2021 staff. Dunn, a former college quarterback and tight end, had previously coached tight ends with the New York Jets in 2019 and 2020 under former head coach Adam Gase. He's been an offensive coordinator in college (UCONN, 2011-2015) and is more than qualified for this promotion. Robert Tonyan is set to be an unrestricted free agent, so Josiah Deguara may be the Packers top tight end in 2022. They may address the position at some point in the 2022 NFL draft. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [NFL - Kayvon Thibodeaux could slide in draft]( Source: ESPN - Todd McShay Oregon DE Kayvon Thibodeaux could slide out of the top five in the 2022 NFL Draft based on conversations ESPN's Todd McShay had with NFL executives at the Senior Bowl. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Not that long ago, Thibodeaux was considered the consensus no.1 overall pick. Now, that may be changing - maybe. This is a dance we seem to do every year in the pre-draft process. Things have a way of settling down, and Thibodeaux could easily strengthen his claim on a top-5 spot with a strong combine and pro day. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CHI - WR Allen Robinson not expected back](=) Source: BearsWire - Brendan Sugrue Chicago Bears impending free-agent WR [Allen Robinson](=) is not expected to re-sign with the Bears this offseason. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No surprise here. Robinson needs to do whatever he can to get to a place with an established quarterback. He's a talented player who just needs a change, and he needs to stay healthy in order to play up to the potential that is still there. He's coming off a disappointing 2021 season with the Bears, but could prove to be a valuable free agent for his next team. [NE - WR Matthew Slater may return in 2022]() Source: ESPN.com - Mike Reiss New England Patriots impending free-agent WR Matthew Slater does not appear to be interested in retiring and likely will re-sign with the Patriots this offseason if the team wants him back. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Slater has been a Patriots player and a trusted leader for Bill Belichick since 2008. Most of his impact is felt on special teams, and if he's not retiring then we'd imagine he'll continue playing for the Patriots. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [NYG - Brandon Brown to become assistant GM]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter The New York Giants are hiring Philadelphia Eagles director of player personnel Brandon Brown to be their assistant general manager, according to multiple sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brown is a good get for the Giants. He'll work alongside new GM Joe Schoen. The two should be able to find the talent the Giants need to get back on top. The development of QB Daniel Jones will determine the team's immediate future, but if he doesn't work out the Giants have the manpower to find the right passer. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [CHI - WR Marquise Goodwin unlikely to return](=) Source: BearsWire - Brendan Sugrue Chicago Bears impending free-agent WR [Marquise Goodwin](=) is not expected to re-sign with the Bears this offseason, in the opinion of BearsWire's Brendan Sugrue. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Goodwin still has the speed to stretch the field. In 14 games last season, Goodwin was targeted 40 times, catching 20 passes for 313 yards and one touchdown. He'll have a cooler market, but Goodwin belongs on a roster as a reserve/speed receiver. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [NYG - Andy Bischoff joining NYG coaching staff]( Source: FootballScoop Former Houston Texans tight ends coach Andy Bischoff accepted the same position with the New York Giants Sunday, Feb. 6, according to multiple sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bischoff's NFL coaching career began with the Bears back in 2013. He's overseen some great tight ends during his run as a tight ends coach - mainly TE Mark Andrews with the Ravens from 2018-2020. The Giants may lose TE Evan Engram, a former first-round pick, in free agency this offseason. That leaves veteran TE Kyle Rudolph, signed through 2022, as the top tight end on the depth chart. Expect the Giants to address the position in some way this spring either through free agency or the draft. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [IND - WR Ashton Dulin expected to receive offer]() Source: ColtsWire - Kevin Hickey Indianapolis Colts restricted free-agent WR [Ashton Dulin](=) is expected to receive a tender offer this offseason and could receive the second-round tender, in the opinion of ColtsWire's Kevin Hickey. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A second-round tender would signal how much the Colts want to keep him. Undrafted out of Malone University in 2019, Dulin has been developing with the Colts for the last three seasons. In 2021, Dulin was targeted 22 times, catching 13 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns. Dulin also finished second in the NFL with 17 special teams tackles in 2021.
