[] 1. [NYG - QB Daniel Jones expected to remain QB1]( Source: New York Post - Ryan Dunleavy New York Giants QB [Daniel Jones](=) (neck) is expected to be the team's starting quarterback in 2022, according to co-owner John Mara, who said he would be 'very surprised' if Jones wasn't the team's Week 1 starter. Mara added that a 'big part' of new head coach Brian Daboll's job is to 'get the most' out of Jones. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Giants have two picks in the top-10 of the 2022 NFL draft, but they seem intent on keeping Jones as their starter. They've hired Brian Daboll as their head coach, and they've hired Mike Kafka as their offensive coordinator. That means the offense is the focus and Jones will be in a make-or-break year this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [JAX - Doug Pederson officially named head coach]( Source: Jaguars.com Updating an earlier report, the Jacksonville Jaguars announced they've hired former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson to be their new head coach on Thursday, Feb. 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is a good move for the Jaguars. Through the process of finding a replacement for Urban Meyer, the Jaguars have bumbled and stumbled their way to a good decision. Pederson has a Super Bowl title from his days as head coach of the Eagles. He's worked well with quarterbacks during his coaching career, and Pederson should be good for QB Trevor Lawrence. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [BUF - Joe Brady hired by Bills](=) Source: BuffaloBills.com Former Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady was hired by the Buffalo Bills as quarterbacks coach Friday, Feb. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brady was a hot name in coaching circles before the 2021 season. He failed to get much of anything out of QB Sam Darnold and was fired during the season. Now, he gets to jump-start his career with QB Josh Allen. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [NE - Adam Gase to Pats?]( Source: NFL Network - Mike Giardi Former New York Jets head coach Adam Gase's name keeps popping up in league circles for the New England Patriots' offensive coordinator position. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bill O'Brien has been the name most strongly linked to the position, and it makes sense because of the connection between him and the Patriots, but it is curious to see Gase's name come up after he was deposed from the Jets last year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NFL - Greg Dulcich stands out]( Source: NFL.com - Daniel Jeremiah UCLA TE Greg Dulcich was the 'most impressive' tight end during Senior Bowl practices, according to Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Dulcich is a mid-to-late round prospect with upside. He entered the week of the Senior Bowl as a fifth- or sixth-round graded player by most in the scouting community. These All-Star games should never move a player more than a dozen spots or so, and that means Dulcich may at best work his way into round four. The best tight end in this class, Colorado State's Trey McBride, did a good job during the week of practice at the Senior Bowl as well. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [BAL - WR Marquise Brown likely back](=) Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec Baltimore Ravens WR [Marquise Brown](=)'s fifth-year option is likely to be exercised, according to general manager Eric DeCosta. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brown had a breakout season, at least for as long as Lamar Jackson was healthy. He should still be underrated in fantasy drafts next year despite being a fantasy WR1 during the first half of the season. [Back to Top](#top) ---------------------------------------------------------------
[] 7. [BAL - CB Marcus Peters expected back](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens CB Marcus Peters is expected to remain with the team in 2022. The team could save $10 million by cutting him. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Ravens once had a surplus of quality corners, but things change quickly around the NFL. The team has said they could be in the market for a playmaking corner or safety. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [NFL - Christian Watson shines at Senior Bowl]( Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Reid North Dakota State WR Christian Watson was mentioned by scouts as one of the biggest winners from Senior Bowl practices, and Jordan Reid of ESPN.com believes Watson is a potential Day 2 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Watson is one of the best wide receivers down at the Senior Bowl. He's got a great size/speed combination, and Watson knows how to use his frame to box out smaller defenders. Watson is a versatile player who can be used around the formation, and he even worked from the backfield and as a kick returner in college. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [NE - QB Brian Hoyer plans to play in 2022](=) Source: PatriotsWire - Henry McKenna New England Patriots QB [Brian Hoyer](=) is not expected to retire during the offseason; he's set to become an unrestricted free agent at the start of the new league year. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hoyer, full name Axel Edward Brian Hoyer (why didn't he use his full name all along?), hasn't played much since 2017. He's started two games from 2018-2021 and primarily works as a veteran backup. That's his role for 2022 if a team decides to give him a look. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [LVR - Las Vegas getting to know Patrick Graham]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero New York Giants defensive coordinator Patrick Graham is interviewing with the Las Vegas Raiders for their defensive coordinator vacancy Friday, Feb. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Giants want Graham back to be part of Brian Daboll's staff, but the Raiders are interested and he has also interviewed with the Steelers. The defense wasn't the problem for the Giants during the Joe Judge era, so Graham's service should be coveted. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [SEA - Ed Donatell finds spot on Seattle's coaching staff](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Former Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Ed Donatell is on the verge of joining the Seattle Seahawks' coaching staff in an unknown capacity, likely as a senior defensive assistant and/or a defensive passing game coordinator. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Seahawks still need to hire a defensive coordinator, but Donatell won't be hired for that opening. He'll likely work with Sean Desai or Clint Hurtt, who have both worked with Donatell in the past. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [LAR - RB Thomas Brown a candidate for offensive coordinator]() Source: The Athletic - Jourdan Rodrigue Los Angeles Rams running back coach/assistant head coach Thomas X. Brown is a candidate to be promoted to offensive coordinator, in the opinion of The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue. Current offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell is expected to be named the new head coach of the Minnesota Vikings after the season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] When O'Connell leaves for his new gig, there will be a spot open on the Rams coaching staff. That means Brown could get a promotion to offensive coordinator. He won't call plays, as that's Sean McVay's responsibility, but Brown will continue to be a hot name in coaching circles. He's already gotten head coaching interviews this offseason with the Dolphins and is known as a fast riser and a hard worker.
