[TEN - RB Derrick Henry coming off IR](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Tennessee Titans RB [Derrick Henry](=) (foot) is expected to come off Injured Reserve Friday, Jan. 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's a procedural move but an important one as it signifies further that Henry should be out there for the Titans in the Divisional Round. The Titans should run early and often against the Bengals on Saturday with Henry leading the way. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NYG - Joe Schoen NYG's guy](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo Buffalo Bills assistant general manager Joe Schoen has been identified as the New York Giants' target for general manager, and the two sides have begun working on a deal. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Schoen has done a great job helping to build a Super Bowl contender with the Bills. Now, he will see what he can do with the bits of talent that remain with the Giants roster. In the near future, the Giants will be adding a head coach and former Dolphins head coach Brian Flores may be in consideration. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NYG - Brian Flores on NYG radar]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores has been requested for an interview by the New York Giants for their head coaching vacancy. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Flores is arguably the best head coaching candidate out there based on what he did with the Dolphins. Yes, he's a bit spirited in his approach - and that may rub some the wrong way - but the Giants could use a bit of that fire and energy on the field. With Joe Schoen, former Bills assistant GM, hired as GM we'll have to see if he wants Flores to be the guy. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [KC - WR Tyreek Hill expected to play]() Source: Chiefs.com Kansas City Chiefs WR [Tyreek Hill](=) (heel) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 21, and is not on the injury report for the Divisional Round playoff game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kansas City will need all their weapons against a tough Buffalo team. Excellent news for the Chiefs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [LAR - LA Rams bring three back off IR]( Source: TheRams.com Los Angeles Rams RB [Darrell Henderson](=) (knee), DL Sebastian Joseph-Day (pectoral) and CB Robert Rochell (chest) were designated for return from the Reserve/Injured list Friday, Jan. 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Rams are getting healthier as the postseason goes, and if they advance to the conference championship game they could get Henderson back on the field. If they do make it past the Buccaneers this week, Henderson could work as the no.3 back in a rotation with Sony Michel and Cam Akers. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [CHI - Eliot Wolf interviews for GM job]() Source: ChicagoBears.com New England Patriots senior consultant Eliot Wolf interviewed for the Chicago Bears vacant General Manager position on Tuesday, Jan. 18. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wolf, the son of legendary NFL executive Ron Wolf, has a good reputation around the league. The Vikings are also interested in Wolf for their open GM position. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [CHI - Dennis Allen to meet with Chicago](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen will interview for the Chicago Bears' head coaching position via Zoom Tuesday, Jan.25. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Allen, a former head coach himself, has gotten some interest before as he interviewed with the Eagles last year. He was the Raiders head coach from 2012-2014 and has been running a strong Saints defense since 2015. Allen will likely get another shot some day to be a head coach again. [CHI - Chicago meets with Reggie McKenzie]() Source: ChicagoBears.com The Chicago Bears interviewed Miami Dolphins senior personnel director Reggie McKenzie for their vacant General Manager position on Thursday, Jan. 20. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McKenzie did a good job building back the Raiders years ago. Then, Jon Gruden was hired and did his best to get rid of everyone McKenzie brought on board. Now, an executive with the Dolphins, McKenzie would be a strong candidate for the Bears given his experience and natural eye for talent. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [TB - RB Ronald Jones to miss playoff game](=) Source: Buccaneers.com Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB [Ronald Jones](=) (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Jan. 21, and has been ruled out of the Divisional Round playoff game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This Tampa team is banged up and this puts pressure on Gio Bernard and hopefully Leonard Fournette. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [HOU - Houston talks HC vacancy with QB Josh McCown]( Source: HoustonTexans.com Former NFL quarterback Josh McCown interviewed for the Houston Texans' head coaching vacancy Thursday, Jan. 20. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McCown has drawn interest from the Texans before. Last year, McCown was of interest to the Texans and here we go again. He's a journeyman quarterback who has zero pro or college coaching experience. McCown is also getting little to no interest from other teams. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [KC - RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire not on injury report]() Source: Chiefs.com Kansas City Chiefs RB [Clyde Edwards-Helaire](=) (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 21, and is not on the injury report for the Divisional Round playoff game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Great news for Kansas City as the team gets back toward full strength. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [CAR - Carolina set to hand offensive reins to Ben McAdoo](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo is expected to be named as the new offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers once contract details get worked out, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Earlier reports indicated that head coach Matt Rhule had to "crush it" when picking a new offensive coordinator. McAdoo is a total opposite of "crushing it" when it comes to an OC. The Jaguars QB coach in 2020, McAdoo worked as a consultant with the Cowboys for the 2021 season. The Panthers will need to hit it out of the park with the expected QB upgrade they get this offseason for this move to not look like a complete flop. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [TB - RB Leonard Fournette hopeful](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported running back [Leonard Fournette](=) was hopeful to play in Sunday's game barring a setback. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This one still feels uncertain to us. We're always leery of the "barring a setback" so hopefully we'll have some clarity on this Saturday before the games kickoff. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Enjoy the games and we'll see you tomorrow with the Update.
