[ATL - TE Kyle Pitts as much receiver as tight end?](#9) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott had partial PCL tear]( Source: DallasCowboys.com - Rob Phillips Dallas Cowboys RB [Ezekiel Elliott](=) (knee) revealed to reporters Sunday, Jan. 16, that he played through a partially torn posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee from Week 4 through the remainder of the season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Elliott just hasn't looked the same this season, and now we know why. He'll get an offseason of rest to get back to his old form now that the Cowboys have been bounced from the playoffs. Elliott also shared that he will not need to undergo surgery in the offseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CHI - Chicago meets with Brian Daboll]() Source: ChicagoBears.com The Chicago Bears interviewed Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll for their vacant head coaching position on Sunday, Jan. 16. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Daboll has plenty of interest for teams in need of a head coach and for good reason. He's overseen the Bills offense since 2018 and has helped in the development of QB Josh Allen. Perhaps having a player like Justin Fields would entice Daboll to go with the Bears. Fields and millions of dollars of course. Daboll is considered a favorite for the Giants as well. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CHI - Leslie Frazier to meet with Bears](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier will interview for the Chicago Bears' head coaching position Friday, Jan. 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Frazier is one of the most well respected coaches in the league. He's been a head coach before (Vikings) and has a ton of experience to lean on. The Bears have a potential franchise quarterback in 2021 first-round pick Justin Fields, so they need to find someone who can get the most out of him. Perhaps they decide Frazier could be that guy. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [PHI - QB Jalen Hurts played through injury](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Philadelphia Eagles QB [Jalen Hurts](=) (ankle) left the stadium in a walking boot Sunday, Jan. 16, after playing through damaged ligaments in his ankle. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hurts gave a valiant effort but came up way short in the Wild Card Round. We'll see if this ankle injury will require surgery and/or rest to heal properly. Hurts is a valuable fantasy asset but he's pretty mediocre (at best) as a passer. Armed with three first-round picks in the 2022 NFL draft, the Eagles are in position to move up for a top quarterback (in a mediocre class) or trade a bevy of picks for a veteran passer. We'll see what they do this offseason, so stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NYG - NYG interviewing two 49ers executives](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport San Francisco 49ers assistant general manager Adam Peters and director of player personnel Ran Carthon for the New York Giants general manager position. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Peters has worked his way up in the league, and he's been forecast as a future GM for some time now. Carthon played running back for a couple of years in the league and has been impressing as an executive in the NFL since 2012. [TEN - RB Derrick Henry's status remains TBD]( Source: NFL Network - Cameron Wolfe Tennessee Titans RB [Derrick Henry](=) (foot) remains uncertain for the Divisional Round home game vs. the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday, Jan. 22, according to head coach Mike Vrabel. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We're sure the Titans will keep Henry's status close to the vest this week. Henry faces a 'big week' to get ready for a ground-heavy attack, Vrabel said. The no.1 seed in the AFC, the Titans are at home to face the Bengals on Saturday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [MIN - Minnesota interviews Nathaniel Hackett]( Source: Vikings.com The Minnesota Vikings interviewed Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett for their vacant head coaching job on Sunday, Jan. 16. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hackett has become the hottest name in the 2022 coaching search, largely due to his work with QB Aaron Rodgers. The Vikings would get a boost to steal him away from their division rival. Hackett may be the favorite to land the Broncos job. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [MIN - Catherine Raiche interviewing with Vikings](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Philadelphia Eagles vice president of football operations Catherine Raiche is interviewing for the Minnesota Vikings' general manager position Monday, Jan. 17. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Raiche has experience in the CFL, XFL and NFL. She was in the position of VP of Football Operations for the 2021 season and is now looking like a potential General Manager. Raiche would be the second woman to hold the position of GM, after Susan Tose Spencer was the Eagles GM back in the 80s. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [ATL - TE Kyle Pitts as much receiver as tight end?]( Source: ESPN - Seth Walder Atlanta Falcons TE [Kyle Pitts](=) lined up out wide on 30 percent of snaps in 2021, according to NFL Next Gen Stats - the highest percentage for any tight end with at least 400 snaps. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pitts wasn't really a tight end in college either. Guys like him are basically super-sized wide receivers who create mismatches anytime they're on the field. Expect Pitts to line up outside plenty in 2022 and beyond.
