[TB - RB Leonard Fournette will not be activated](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB [Leonard Fournette](=) (hamstring) will not be activated from the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Jan. 15, and will not be available for the Wild Card playoff game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Tough news for Fournette and Tampa Bay. Looks like we'll see Ke'Shawn Vaughn and also Le'Veon Bell and Gio Bernard carrying the RB load. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [ARI - RB James Conner back at practice]() Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban Arizona Cardinals RB [James Conner](=) (ribs) was practicing during the media portion Saturday, Jan. 15. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Conner is back after missing a couple of days of practice. He's a game-time decision for Monday night's game against the Rams in the Wild Card Round. Chase Edmonds would get a large role if Conner can't go. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [PIT - RB Najee Harris removed from injury report](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Pittsburgh Steelers RB [Najee Harris](=) (elbow) was removed from the Wild Card Weekend injury report Saturday, Jan. 15, after previously being listed as questionable. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A key for the Steelers could be to run the ball early and often with Harris. Using up the time of possession with long drives could keep Patrick Mahomes cold on the sidelines. The Steelers need a miracle on Sunday to beat the Chiefs in the Wild Card Round, but a healthy (ish) Harris is good news. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [TB - RB Giovani Bernard activated]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB [Giovani Bernard](=) (knee, hip) was activated from the Reserve/Injured-Designated to Return list Saturday, Jan. 15, and is expected to play vs. the Philadelphia Eagles in Wild Card Weekend, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bernard will be out there as a change-of-pace option for the Buccaneers. Leonard Fournette is out. We'll likely see Ke'Shawn Vaughn and we might see Le'Veon Bell and Bernard as the top two backs for the Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [TB - ILB Lavonte David back on roster]( Source: Buccaneers.com Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Lavonte David (foot) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Jan. 15. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Great news for this Tampa Bay defense. And if you're reading this, it's a safe bet to assume you're dominating your league. Now you can look the part too. [Shop Now]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [LVR - QB Derek Carr's future is uncertain]() Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Las Vegas Raiders QB [Derek Carr](=) has one year left on his contract, and his future with the franchise appears directly tied to the offseason search for a new head coach. Carr publicly stated his desire to remain with the Raiders, even saying he probably would retire before playing elsewhere. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Carr seemed like he was on his way out with Jon Gruden, but now a playoff run - and Gruden getting fired - means he could stay with the team. He'll command a high-dollar contract extension, and it is unclear how the team will approach a new deal, especially if there is a change at general manager. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [LAR - RB Sony Michel busy down the stretch]( Source: ESPN.com - Lindsey Thiry Los Angeles Rams RB [Sony Michel](=)'s 554 rushing yards since Week 12 were the third-most in the NFL during that stretch. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cam Akers is back, but Michel should continue to get a large role as the Rams face the Cardinals on Monday night. He couldn't do much last week against the 49ers, and we'll see if Michel can be more effective in the Wild Card Round. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [ATL - WR Calvin Ridley on his way out of ATL?]() Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo and Steve Wyche Atlanta Falcons WR [Calvin Ridley](=) and the organization mutually could look to work out a trade, in the opinions of NFL Network's Steve Wyche and Mike Garafolo. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ridley stepped away from the game for personal reasons in October and hasn't been in contact with the Falcons in months. If he wants to keep playing, then perhaps a fresh start is best. Any team that trades for Ridley would have to extend him because the 2018 first-round pick is set to play on the fifth-year option in 2022. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [PIT - WR JuJu Smith-Schuster activated from IR](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Pittsburgh Steelers WR [JuJu Smith-Schuster](=) (shoulder) was activated from the Reserve/Injured-Designated to Return list Saturday, Jan. 15, and will play in Wild Card Weekend at the Kansas City Chiefs. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith-Schuster is likely to be on a snap count in his first game back since injuring his shoulder in Week 5. Even if he can help a little bit, it's good news for the Steelers as they need all the help they can get against the high-powered Chiefs offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [MIA - QB Tua Tagovailoa expected to be 2022 starter]() Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Miami Dolphins QB [Tua Tagovailoa](=) is expected to be the starter for the 2022-23 NFL season, according to sources, barring an unforeseen occurrence. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Tagovailoa has struggled his first two seasons, but he's also flashed during that time as well. There's something to build around there with him, although Tagovailoa might not be a quarterback who can make everyone around him better. We'll see if the Dolphins can find a head coach who taps into that potential Tagovailoa still has. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family.
