[TB - RB Leonard Fournette's status up in the air?](#14) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [KC - RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire ruled out for WC Round](=) Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs RB [Clyde Edwards-Helaire](=) (shoulder) did not practice Friday, Jan. 14, and has been ruled out for the Wild-Card Round versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Edwards-Helaire may not be ready for the Divisional Round if/when the Chiefs advance. That means they'll turn to Darrel Williams as their lead back, and he's more than capable of having plenty of success on the ground with a larger role. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CHI - QB Justin Fields activated]() Source: NFLCommunications.com Chicago Bears QB [Justin Fields](=) (illness) was activated from the Reserve/COVID list on Thursday, Jan. 13. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fields was available in 12 games as a rookie, and he was able to start 10 of those contests. He finished 2021 with 58.9 percent passing with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Fields certainly needs work as a passer, and as Chicago searches for a new head coach they need to keep Fields in mind. His 72 rushes for 420 yards and two touchdowns should increase next year under better coaching and a staff who realizes his legs are a big part of Fields game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CHI - Brian Flores visiting Bears](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating a previous report, former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores will interview for the Chicago Bears' head coaching position Friday, Jan. 14. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Flores may be a favorite to land the Bears job. He was surprisingly fired by the Dolphins earlier in the week, but Flores put together a strong case on the field for him to be a head coach in the NFL. The Bears are an attractive destination with the talent on the roster, including QB Justin Fields. Flores is reportedly in consideration for the Texans head coaching vacancy as well. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [CHI - CHI wants JoJo Wooden interview](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Los Angeles Chargers director of player personnel JoJo Wooden was requested for an interview for the Chicago Bears' general manager vacancy. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wooden has a good reputation around the league. He's worked well with Chargers GM Tom Telesco to build a talented roster in Los Angeles. Those in the scouting community have known for some time that Wooden was on track to be a GM one day. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [JAX - Jags reinstate QB C.J. Beathard]() Source: NFLCommunications.com Jacksonville Jaguars QB [C.J. Beathard](=) was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday, Jan. 13. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Beathard signed a two-year contract with the Jaguars, so he's on the books for $2.7 million in 2022. He should stick around in Jacksonville as a reserve option behind starter Trevor Lawrence. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [CHI - Nathaniel Hackett on Chicago's radar]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was requested to interview for the Chicago Bears' head coaching vacancy Friday, Jan. 14. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hackett is arguably the hottest head coaching candidate out there. He's a beat-of-a-different drummer type of guy, but he connects with his players and knows how to get the best out of them. Plucking him from a division rival would be a big win for the Bears. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [PIT - Week 19 injury report for Pittsburgh]() Source: Steelers.com Pittsburgh Steelers RB [Najee Harris](=) (elbow) was upgraded to a full practice Friday, Jan. 14, and is listed as questionable for the Wild-Card Round versus the Kansas City Chiefs. QB [Ben Roethlisberger](=) (pectoral, shoulder), CB Arthur Maulet (concussion), OT Dan Moore (ankle) and OG Trai Turner (knee) also practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Roethlisberger is set up for one final game as the Steelers quarterback. It's on the road at Arrowhead Stadium, one of the toughest places to play in the NFL. We'll see if the Steelers can pull off a miracle and get the win as nobody expects them to beat the Chiefs. [LAR - QB Matthew Stafford's toe not an issue](=) Source: ESPN.com - Brady Henderson Los Angeles Rams QB [Matthew Stafford](=) (toe) said his toe is OK and shouldn't impact him in the NFC Wild Card game against the Arizona Cardinals. Stafford said his toe was landed on awkwardly late last Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The toe is OK but Stafford's game is not. He started out the season hot, and he ended the season lukewarm at best with eight interceptions over the Rams final four games. We'll see if Stafford can get back to playing mistake-free football in the postseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [DEN - QB Luke Getsy interviewing with Broncos](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator Luke Getsy will interview for the Denver Broncos' head coaching vacancy Friday, Jan. 14. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Getsy has worked only with the Packers in the NFL, but he was an offensive coordinator for two college teams (West Virginia Wesleyan, Mississippi State). He has a great relationship with QB Aaron Rodgers, and the Broncos could actually be looking at Getsy as an option at offensive coordinator if they hire Packers OC Nathaniel Hackett (who they're interviewing Saturday) as their head coach. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [PHI - RB Miles Sanders declares himself ready]( Source: NJ.com - Mike Kaye Philadelphia Eagles RB [Miles Sanders](=) (hand) told reporters Friday, Jan. 14, that he 'absolutely' expects to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild-Card Round. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sanders had surgery on his hand after Week 16 and is going to wear some protective gear in the Wild Card game. We could see him limited in this game against the Buccaneers. The Eagles want to run the hell out of the ball, but it's tough to do that against Tampa. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [PIT - WR JuJu Smith-Schuster on track to play](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers WR [JuJu Smith-Schuster](=) (shoulder) had no issues after practice Thursday, Jan. 13, and he's trending toward playing in the AFC Wild Card game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There are conflicting reports on Smith-Schuster's status with some reporters around the Steelers insisting the Steelers are just "hopeful" he will play. If Smith-Schuster is able to get out there against the Chiefs in the Wild Card Round we imagine he'd be on some sort of snap count. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [ARI - DE J.J. Watt officially back at practice]( Source: ESPN.com - Josh Weinfuss Arizona Cardinals DE J.J. Watt (shoulder) practiced with the team on Thursday, Jan. 13, marking the first time he's practiced since injuring his shoulder on Oct. 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's playoff time, and it's all hands on deck for the Cardinals and every team if someone is able to play. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Watt was 'very limited,' and provided no update on his status for the team's playoff meeting with the Los Angeles Rams on Monday, Jan. 17. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [TB - Tampa Bay's Wild Card Round injury report](=) Source: Buccaneers.com Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB [Ronald Jones](=) (ankle) and WR [Cyril Grayson](=) (hamstring) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for the Wild Card Round against the Philadelphia Eagles. CB Sean Murphy-Bunting (hamstring) and CB Carlton Davis (back) were limited in practice Friday, Jan. 14, and are listed as questionable. WR Justin Watson (quad) was upgraded to a full practice on Friday but is also listed as questionable. LB Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder, knee), TE [Rob Gronkowski](=) (rest) and DL Ndamukong Suh (rest) did not practice on Friday but are expected to be active. LB Shaquil Barrett (knee), CB Jamel Dean (hamstring), WR [Mike Evans](=) (hamstring), C Ryan Jensen (shoulder), LB Anthony Nelson (ankle), WR [Breshad Perriman](=) (hip), P Bradley Pinion (hip), CB Rashard Robinson (groin), RB Ke'Shawn Vaughn (ribs), QB [Tom Brady](=) (rest) and DL Steve McLendon (rest) practiced in full on Friday and have been removed from the injury report. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Buccaneers could have Leonard Fournette out there as the lead back in the Wild Card Round but he's a game-time decision. Behind him, Gio Bernard and Le'Veon Bell could work into the mix with Bell getting the most work if Fournette can't play. Gronkowski is just getting rest before the playoffs, but he should be good to go this weekend. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [TB - RB Leonard Fournette's status up in the air?]() Source: The Athletic - Greg Auman Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB [Leonard Fournette](=) (hamstring) is among the 'most questionable' of the team's game-time decisions for the Wild-Card Round against the Philadelphia Eagles. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bruce Arians called Fournette the "most questionable" of any player on the injury report. He's a game-time decision and the Buccaneers may be leaning on Le'Veon Bell as their lead back in the Wild Card Round.
