[ARI - WR DeAndre Hopkins to miss playoff game]( Source: NFL.com Arizona Cardinals WR [DeAndre Hopkins](=) (knee) will not be available for the Wild Card playoff game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bad news for the Cardinals here, but not necessarily surprising. Hopkins injured his knee in Week 14, and if the Cardinals make a deep postseason run (Divisional Round, NFC Championship) then there's a better chance he could return. We'll see Christian Kirk and A.J. Green as the top pass-catchers for the Cardinals in the Wild Card Round. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CAR - Two interview with CAR](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and Indianapolis Colts wide receivers coach Mike Groh were interviewed for the Carolina Panthers' offensive coordinator vacancy. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kubiak, the son of Super Bowl winning coach Gary Kubiak, spent 2021 as the offensive coordinator of the Vikings. He runs the Shanahan system and is well versed in that offense. Kubiak is a first-year OC but is already getting attention as a future head coach. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Buccaneers get Leonard Fournette and Gio Bernard back this week. [TB - Two Bucs designated to return](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Lavonte David (foot) and RB [Giovani Bernard](=) (hip, knee) were designated to return from Injured Reserve Wednesday, Jan. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Buccaneers got thin at the running back position as the season wore on. Getting Bernard back and getting Leonard Fournette back is good news. Bernard will get pass-catching work out of the backfield behind Fournette as the Buccaneers march through the playoffs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [DEN - Nathaniel Hackett to meet with DEN](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett will interview for the Denver Broncos' head coaching vacancy Saturday, Jan. 15. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hackett is arguably the hottest name in the 2022 coaching carousel. His work with Aaron Rodgers piques the interest of the Broncos as they want to trade for the superstar quarterback this offseason. Having Hackett would be an attraction for Rodgers, but even if they didn't get the veteran passer Hackett would be a fine coach who could jump start an offense which has more talent than most think. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [TB - RB Leonard Fournette designated to return](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB [Leonard Fournette](=) (hamstring) was designated to return from Injured Reserve Wednesday, Jan. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Buccaneers are getting Fournette back at the right time. Fournette can work as the lead back and centerpiece of the offense as they march through the postseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family.
