[BAL - QB Josh Johnson expected to start in Week 16](=) Source: NFL.com - Jeremy Bergman Baltimore Ravens QB [Josh Johnson](=) is expected to be the starting quarterback for the Ravens in the Week 16 game with QBs [Lamar Jackson](=) (ankle) and QB [Tyler Huntley](=) (illness) unavailable, according to NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Reports indicate Johnson is the only quarterback making the trip. Johnson is a seasoned pro who has played for about half the league. He's only 1-7 as a starter in his career, so expect a lot of running to keep things simple in Week 16. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [KC - WR Tyreek Hill clears COVID protocol](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Kansas City Chiefs WR [Tyreek Hill](=) (illness) cleared the NFL's COVID-19 protocol Saturday, Dec. 25, and will be available for Week 16. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for the Chiefs here. Getting Hill back is a huge boost for the Chiefs offense. Fantasy GMs in the second round of the playoffs can breathe a sigh of relief as well. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [KC - TE Travis Kelce not cleared yet but still has a shot]() Source: Chiefs.com Kansas City Chiefs TE [Travis Kelce](=) "still has a shot" for Sunday but still has not been cleared, per Adam Schefter. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Unlike Tyreek Hill, Kelce was not cleared Saturday. We'll see if he can clear protocol Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [LAR - RB Cam Akers activated]() Source: NFL.com - Jeremy Bergman Los Angeles Rams RB Cam Akers (Achilles) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Dec. 25. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] He will not travel with the team for their Week 16 game. However, this is a remarkable comeback for a player who injured his Achilles' while training in July. The Rams could use Akers more in the postseason but get him eased back in during the end of the regular season. --------------------------------------------------------------- 5. [PHI - Nick Sirianni clears COVID regs]() Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni (illness) passed the NFL's COVID-19 protocol Saturday, Dec. 25, and will coach in Week 16. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sirianni tested positive for COVID on Wednesday but has now cleared the league protocol. He was involved in the game planning over Zoom but can now coach in person at home on Sunday against the Giants. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [LAC - RB Austin Ekeler will not play in Week 16](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Los Angeles Chargers RB [Austin Ekeler](=) (illness) will not play in Week 16 after testing positive Saturday, Dec. 25, for COVID-19, he announced on Instagram. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It was a question if he was going to play or not, but Ekeler cleared that up on social networking. Justin Jackson and Joshua Kelley will split time in his absence. Jackson should be the lead back and has RB2 potential for Fantasy GMs while Kelley is more of a reserve player who could see the field near pay dirt - making him more of a 'what the heck' flex. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [NO - QB Drew Brees entertained idea of unretiring](=) Source: The Times-Picayune - Jeff Duncan The New Orleans Saints reached out to retired QB Drew Brees in an attempt to lure him out of retirement for a one-game stint, prior to the Saints signing QB Blake Bortles this week. Brees considered the idea, and even tested out his arm, but ultimately decided against the returning. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With desperate times come desperate measures, including giving Brees a phone call. It would've been cool to see if happen, but it might have been more sad given the state of Brees arm when he decided to hang it up. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [IND - IND not worried about RB Jonathan Taylor's workload]() Source: NFL.com - Nick Shook The Indianapolis Colts are not concerned with RB [Jonathan Taylor](=)'s heavy workload, according to head coach Frank Reich. In his last four contests, he has had 109 carries, including games in Week 11 and Week 13 where he had 32 carries each. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Colts are going to ride Taylor into the postseason and as far as they can go with the superstar running back. It wasn't that long ago that Taylor's usage was not uncommon, even for backs who are not nearly as talented. Call it a throwback, call it old school, call it whatever you want. Fantasy GMs are calling it gold. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
