[ARI - WR DeAndre Hopkins having surgery]() Source: NFL Network Arizona Cardinals WR [DeAndre Hopkins](=) (knee) is having surgery on his knee to stabilize a severely torn medial collateral ligament, and he could return if the team advances deep into the playoffs. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cardinals fans, and the team, are hoping for a speedy recovery with the superstar wide receiver. Six weeks is the likely timetable, which means he could be back in late January. Without Hopkins, the Cardinals will turn to A.J. Green, Christian Kirk and rookie Rondale Moore. [JAX - Jacksonville fires Urban Meyer]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer was fired on Wednesday, Dec. 15, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Meyer was in the first year of a five-year contract. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This seemed inevitable. On the field, Meyer often seemed over his head and hopefully didn't ruin 2021 no.1 overall pick QB Trevor Lawrence. Off the field, Meyer was an embarrassment as well. Add in altercations with players, and you can see how Jaguars owner Shad Khan had no choice but to move on from a bad decision. Darrell Bevell will be the interim head coach. [MIA - WR Jaylen Waddle to COVID list](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Miami Dolphins WR [Jaylen Waddle](=) was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Dec. 16. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bad news for Fantasy GMs here. Waddle had been a consistent fantasy starter and has been coming into his own as a pro. Now, if Waddle has the miss Week 15 the Dolphins will be forced to turn to guys like DeVante Parker, Albert Wilson and Preston Williams. [BAL - QB Lamar Jackson out again Thursday](=) Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec Baltimore Ravens QB [Lamar Jackson](=) (ankle) remained out of practice Thursday, Dec. 16, as he deals with an ankle injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ravens OC Greg Roman said Jackson's status for the Packers game on Sunday "could go down to the wire." It's looking more and more like Tyler Huntley is going to start for the Ravens in Week 15. Huntley is not the passer that Jackson is (in terms of timing and pass placement), but he's not a bad option with his 71 percent completion rate. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Njoku should be out there for the Browns in Week 15. He's back and Austin Hooper is on the COVID list. Njoku might be in for a larger workload than some think, but in the first week of the fantasy playoffs it might be difficult for Fantasy GMs to trust him. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] So long as COVID didn't go through the running back room, we could see Rashaad Penny get a lot of work in Week 15. After his breakout game in Week 14, Penny became a hot fantasy waiver wire addition. Without Collins, DeeJay Dallas or Travis Homer could get more work as well. [DEN - RB Javonte Williams expected to play]() Source: The Athletic - Nick Kosmider Denver Broncos RB [Javonte Williams](=) won't practice Thursday, Dec. 16, as he deals with a leg injury, but head coach Vic Fangio said he expects Williams to play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fantasy GMs have loved what Williams has done most of this season. He's certainly surging over the past couple of weeks, even with Melvin Gordon back in the lineup. Williams is a RB2/flex option, like Gordon, against the Bengals in Week 15. The game is on Sunday night, so Fantasy GMs are going to have to be ready to make other decisions at the running back position. The Buccaneers could use Ronald Jones as their banger and Ke'Shawn Vaughn as their receiving back if Fournette is out. [IND - Malik Jefferson signed to active roster](=) Source: Colts.com Indianapolis Colts LB Malik Jefferson was signed from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on Wednesday, Dec. 15. In a related move, the team also signed free agent CB Will Redmond (Packers) to the practice squad. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bevell could get a chance at a head coaching gig next offseason. Either with the Jaguars or with another team. [NO - New Orleans designates TE Adam Trautman to return](=) Source: NewOrleans.Football - Nick Underhill New Orleans Saints TE [Adam Trautman](=) (knee) was designated to return from the Reserve/Injured list on Wednesday, Dec. 15. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Saints need all the help they can get on offense. Trautman and the Saints have 21 days to determine whether or not to bring him back to the active roster. He went down with a knee injury back in Week 11, so a return this week might be a bit optimistic.
