[MIN - WR Adam Thielen unlikely to go Week 14]() Source: Around The NFL Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings WR [Adam Thielen](=) (ankle) is not expected to suit up for Week 14 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers with the high-ankle sprain he suffered in Week 13 against the Detroit Lions. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] High-ankle sprains can linger for some time if not given enough time to heal. It's no surprise Thielen would miss the game against the Steelers because it's on Thursday night. We'll see if he can get back in action after that. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NYJ - WR Corey Davis' season comes to an end](=) Source: New York Post - Brian Costello New York Jets WR [Corey Davis](=) (core) is scheduled to undergo core muscle surgery Tuesday, Dec. 7, and will miss the rest of the season, according to head coach Robert Saleh. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Davis was the prize free agent for the Jets this offseason. This core injury had bothered him for some time, and the team finally decided to shut him down. He finishes his first season in the Big Apple with 34 catches, 492 yards and four touchdowns. Elijah Moore and Jamison Crowder will do more without Davis. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [HOU - QB Tyrod Taylor out](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Houston Texans QB [Tyrod Taylor](=) (wrist) is likely out for Week 14 and considered week-to-week with a wrist injury. Taylor is believed to have torn ligaments in his left wrist. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We've seen the Texans without Taylor earlier this year, so it's back to rookie Davis Mills. Outside of WR Brandin Cooks, Fantasy GMs aren't looking to any Texans players on a weekly basis. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [TEN - WR Julio Jones nearing return]( Source: The Tennessean - Ben Arthur Tennessee Titans WR [Julio Jones](=) (hamstring) was designated for return from the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Dec. 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones hasn't done much for the Titans this year and he hasn't played since early November. He's back from this hamstring injury but even in a game against the Jaguars in Week 14 Jones is merely a 'what the heck' flex option for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NYG - QB Jake Fromm in line to start](=) Source: The Bergen Record - Art Stapleton New York Giants QB Jake Fromm is in line for his first NFL start in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Chargers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Daniel Jones is likely out with a neck injury and Mike Glennon suffered a concussion against the Dolphins in Week 13. Fromm just signed with the Giants on November 30th. Downgrade all fantasy assets for the Giants offense with Fromm at the helm. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [TEN - WR Julio Jones back at practice](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Tennessee Titans WR [Julio Jones](=) (hamstring) was designated to return from the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Dec. 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones should be back in action for the first time since Week 7. He's a 'what the heck' flex option for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- FOOTBALLGUYS PICKS WIN MORE. PAY LESS. [CIN - QB Joe Burrow determined to play](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Cincinnati Bengals QB [Joe Burrow](=) (finger) is determined to play through a dislocated pinkie finger on his throwing hand. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Burrow's finger injury was painful for him to play through against the Chargers, but at this time it won't require surgery to repair. He's pushing to be out there in Week 14 against the 49ers. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [CAR - QB Cam Newton likely to start in Week 14]( Source: ESPN.com - David Newton Carolina Panthers QB [Cam Newton](=) is expected to start in Week 14 versus the Atlanta Falcons, according to comments made by head coach Matt Rhule on Monday, Dec. 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] In Week 12, Newton was so bad that he was benched in favor of P.J. Walker. A game against the Falcons should be a good one for Newton, and his rushing ability gives him QB1 potential if he's starting - even with the risk of getting benched again. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [WAS - TE Logan Thomas' injury not as bad as feared?](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating a previous report, Washington Football Team TE [Logan Thomas](=) (knee) suffered damage in his knee but likely avoided a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Week 13, according to head coach Ron Rivera on Monday, Dec. 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A helmet to the knee in the fourth quarter caused Thomas to exit the game and the worse was feared. Now, with a more minor knee injury he could return later this year. WFT has Ricky Seals-Jones as the primary backup, but he wasn't able to play in Week 13 due to a hip injury. John Bates is next man up if Seals-Jones can't play. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [IND - Indy to take a long look at QB James Morgan](=) Source: Colts.com Free-agent QB James Morgan was signed to the practice squad of the Indianapolis Colts on Monday, Dec. 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Morgan was a fourth-round pick of the New York Jets in the 2020 NFL draft. Coming out of FIU, Morgan was known to have a rocket arm and a gunslinger mentality. He's bounced on and off the Jets roster, spending time with the Panthers and the Steelers along the way. Now, he gets a chance to latch on with the Colts. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [CLE - RB Nick Chubb, RB Kareem Hunt to share the field?]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Michael David Smith Cleveland Browns RBs [Nick Chubb](=) and [Kareem Hunt](=) could get used at the same time on occasion in Week 14 against the Baltimore Ravens. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That's not a surprise as both are really good backs and should get as much time as possible. Chubb is a RB1 and Hunt is a RB2/flex option from a fantasy perspective anytime both are healthy and on the field. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family.
