[KC - RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire should return in Week 11](#12) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [ATL - RB Cordarrelle Patterson unlikely for Thursday]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons RB [Cordarrelle Patterson](=) (ankle) is still undergoing tests on his sprained ankle Monday, Nov. 15, but it appears unlikely he will be able to play on a short week against the New England Patriots to begin Week 11, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports Patterson is dealing with an ankle sprain and "it doesn't sound optimistic" that he will play in Week 11 against the Patriots. The game is on Thursday night, so it is fair to assume that Patterson won't be able to play. That means we could see a backfield mix of Mike Davis and Wayne Gallman for the Falcons. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [WAS - Chase Young out for the year]( Source: The Washington Post - Nicki Jhabvala Updating previous reports, Washington Football Team DE Chase Young (knee) will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Week 10 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The WFT defense has not lived up to the hype in 2021, and they're going to struggle without Young out there. He went down on a non-contact injury in the second quarter in Week 10 and had to be helped off the field. He'll need time to fully recover, so expect him to be limited in training camp next year and perhaps start the 2022 season on the PUP list. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CLE - QB Baker Mayfield day-to-day]() Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich Cleveland Browns QB [Baker Mayfield](=) (knee) is day-to-day with a knee injury he suffered late in the third quarter of the team's Week 10 game versus the New England Patriots. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mayfield is trying to play through multiple injuries this season. If he's day-to-day with this knee injury, that means it's not a major injury. He should be limited in practice this week, meaning Case Keenum should get an increase in reps. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [CAR - QB Cam Newton to work with ones](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Carolina Panthers QB [Cam Newton](=) will work with the first-team offense in practice this week, but head coach Matt Rhule won't declare a starter. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Newton got to see action in Week 10 and made plays for the Panthers in their win over the Cardinals scoring two touchdowns. Now, he's working as the starter even though Rhule won't declare Newton the top guy just yet. With his rushing ability, Newton still has QB1 potential for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [DAL - WR CeeDee Lamb expected to be fine]( Source: ESPN.com - Todd Archer Dallas Cowboys WR [CeeDee Lamb](=) (arm) missed a large chunk of the second half in Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons with something that felt like a cramp in his arm, according to Lamb via ESPN's Todd Archer. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Great news for the Cowboys here. The Cowboys ran away with the game, so there was no need to force Lamb back in there. We'll see if he is limited during the week of practice or if he's fine and can participate. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [GB - RB Aaron Jones could miss 1-2 weeks](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Green Bay Packers RB [Aaron Jones](=) (knee) could miss one or two weeks with a mild medial collateral sprain. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good thing the Packers have A.J. Dillon to pick up the slack while Jones misses time. The Packers have a bye in Week 13, and it looks like Jones will avoid going on short-term IR. With the way that Dillon can control the game on the ground, and he's a better receiver than some give him credit for, there's no need for the Packers to rush Jones back. Watt (knee) may not miss any game action after imaging tests on his injured knee came back negative Monday, Nov. 15. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Steelers fans can breathe a sigh of relief here. Watt went down against the Lions and looked to be in serious pain. It sounds like a major injury was dodged, so watch Watt during the week of practice. If he misses time, it's a downgrade for the Steelers defense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [WAS - TE Ricky Seals-Jones injury update](=) Source: ESPN.com - John Keim Updating a previous report, Washington Football Team TE [Ricky Seals-Jones](=) (hip) is day-to-day with a hip injury he suffered in Week 10 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to head coach Ron Rivera. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll watch this during the week. WFT may not need Seals-Jones out there if Logan Thomas is able to return from his hamstring injury in Week 11. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [SEA - WR DK Metcalf won't be suspended](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Seattle Seahawks WR [DK Metcalf](=) is facing a fine and won't be suspended for his role in a scuffle with the Green Bay Packers in Week 10. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Metcalf should see a significant fine for his role in the scuffle with the Packers...especially because he tried to re-enter the game afterwards. He's good to go in Week 11, let's just hope QB Russell Wilson starts to play better. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [ARI - QB Colt McCoy unlikely to miss time](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating previous reports, Arizona Cardinals QB [Colt McCoy](=) (pectoral) was diagnosed with a pectoral strain Monday, Nov. 15, after exiting early during the team's Week 10 game against the Carolina Panthers. According to a source via Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, McCoy should be able to play in Week 11 if he is needed to do so. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McCoy has been filling in for an injured Kyler Murray. When Murray is back from his ankle injury, McCoy goes back to the bench. The Cardinals play the Seahawks in Week 11, and they have a bye in Week 12. Perhaps McCoy gets one more start although it seems like Murray is close to a return. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [DET - RB Jermar Jefferson not seriously hurt](=) Source: MLive.com - Benjamin Raven Detroit Lions RB [Jermar Jefferson](=) (ankle) could be forced to miss some time with the ankle injury he suffered in Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the injury might not be as bad as initially thought, according to comments made by head coach Dan Campbell on Monday, Nov. 15. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for the rookie running back here. If he is healthy, Jefferson might get some more work in the backfield as a change-of-pace option. He's got speed to rip off big plays in space. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [KC - RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire should return in Week 11](=) Source: Kansas City Star - Herbie Teope Kansas City Chiefs RB [Clyde Edwards-Helaire](=) (knee) has a 'pretty good chance' to return for Week 11 against the Dallas Cowboys, according to head coach Andy Reid on Monday, Nov. 15. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Getting Edwards-Helaire back in action gives the Chiefs another weapon on offense. Darrel Williams has played well in his stead, so perhaps he'll split time with Edwards-Helaire upon his return. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family.
