[CAR - CAR out on QB Deshaun Watson]() Source: The Athletic - Joseph Person Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson will not be pursued by the Carolina Panthers before the Nov. 2 trade deadline, but he could be an option in the offseason. The no-trade clause wasn't an issue with the team. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] So, basically they're OUT on Watson...for now. Watson will get his legal situation deposed early next year, and he may not be dealt before that time. The Dolphins are reportedly close to getting a deal done, but that may not be the case. The Broncos had interest but Watson may not want to join them. The Watson situation is one to watch closely as the trade deadline approaches next week, but there's a chance he doesn't get dealt until the offseason. Doug Kyed of PFF reports the "current expectation is" he'll be activated off the injured reserve list and play Thursday. They have lost Allen Lazard for this game (COVID list) Davante Adams is out as well. The Dolphins want his legal issues resolved, or clarity on length of a potential suspension, before consummating the deal. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] So, the Dolphins want the courts to speed up - they won't. They also want clarity from the league, which may be difficult as well. Watson will be deposed on his legal issues early next year. That means he may not be dealt until that is resolved - no matter what the Dolphins have in place at this time. If they can do the deal before next Tuesday's trade deadline it's obviously huge for them...but tons of questions remain. As always, stay tuned.
