[CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey not seen]( Source: Panthers.com - Darin Gantt Carolina Panthers RB [Christian McCaffrey](=) (hamstring) was not seen Thursday, Oct. 14, during the team's open portion of practice. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is not an ideal situation for Fantasy GMs hoping this would be the week McCaffrey returns. He's been working off to the side for a few days but it doesn't seem like he'll be ready for Week 6. Chuba Hubbard becomes a RB1 for Fantasy GMs if McCaffrey is out. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CHI - RB Damien Williams on COVID list]( Source: ChicagoBears.com Chicago Bears RB [Damien Williams](=) was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Oct. 14. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Stay tuned but players placed on the COVID list this late in the week have not been available for the game. For now, have an alternate plan if Williams is your guy. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [MIN - TE Luke Stocker added by MIN]( Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Chris Tomasson Free-agent TE Luke Stocker (Titans) signed with the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad Thursday, Oct. 14. OG Zack Bailey was released. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Stocker is a big-bodied blocker at the tight end position. He basically plays like an extra tackle when he's on the field, so don't expect much fantasy production if he does get on the field for the Vikings. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [CLE - OC: Beckham needs more touches]() Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich Cleveland Browns WR [Odell Beckham](=) Jr. needs to touch the ball more, Browns offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt said Thursday, Oct. 14. 'He's a good player, and getting him the ball is important to all of us,' Van Pelt added. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Beckham looks good out there but he's not getting fed the ball enough. We'll see if Baker Mayfield does that this week in a huge contest against the undefeated Cardinals on Sunday. We like Beckham as a WR3/flex play with upside in Week 6. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [BAL - Rashod Bateman has shot to play](=) Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman (groin) has a chance to make his NFL debut in Week 6, offensive coordinator Greg Roman said Thursday, Oct. 14. Roman added that when Bateman does play, his playing time will be increased gradually until he's 'game ready. 'I don't think we're going to throw him into the fire every play,' Roman said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bateman is an exciting rookie Fantasy GMs are waiting to see in action. He's a great route-runner and has strong hands, so Bateman could become a favorite target of QB Lamar Jackson. We'll see if he can make his season debut in the near future, perhaps this week against the Chargers. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [BAL - No practice for QB Lamar Jackson]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper Baltimore Ravens QB [Lamar Jackson](=) (undisclosed) was not present Thursday, Oct. 14, during the team's open portion of practice. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's Thursday, so keep a pin in this if you're planning on Jackson being in your lineup. Let's see what he can do on Friday. The Ravens have a big game at home against the red hot Chargers in Week 6. [MIN - Justin Jefferson expects to play]() Source: The Athletic - Chad Graff Minnesota Vikings WR [Justin Jefferson](=) (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 14, due to an ankle injury, but he said he expects to play in Week 6 Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jefferson is a little banged up but he should be good to go in Week 6. Start him as your normally would (WR1) this week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [DEN - RB Melvin Gordon back at practice](=) Source: DNVR Sports - Zac Stevens Denver Broncos RB [Melvin Gordon](=) (hip) returned to practice Thursday, Oct. 14, after missing the previous day. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gordon has been battling various injuries this year but he's playing well. He's also been battling bad coaching from OC Pat Shurmur. The Broncos don't run the ball enough as Shurmur goes away from the ground game at the drop of a hat. Shurmur's ineptitude makes Gordon and Javonte Williams low-end RB2/RB3/flex plays. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [NYG - QB Daniel Jones practices Thursday](=) Source: NFL.com - Nick Shook New York Giants QB [Daniel Jones](=) (concussion) took first-team reps in the open portion of practice Thursday, Oct. 14, and head coach Joe Judge said earlier that Jones will be a non-contact participant. 'At this point, everything is positive,' Judge said of Jones' progress. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is a good sign for the Giants and for Jones. If Jones starts, and not Mike Glennon, it would be an uptick for the Giants skill position players. Friday is the big day to see how much Jones participates. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [HOU - QB Tyrod Taylor the starter when healthy]() Source: Houston Chronicle - Brooks Kubena Houston Texans QB [Tyrod Taylor](=) (hamstring) is the starter when he returns to full health, according to head coach David Culley. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Davis Mills is a rookie who could develop into a long-time starter for the Texans. He's coming off the best game of his young career in Week 5, but it sounds like he'd still go to the bench when Taylor is ready. The Texans aren't going anywhere this year, so why not just stay with Mills and get him valuable experience? He only started 11 games in college and could use the time to get better and develop. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [NYG - WR Sterling Shepard says he's returning]() Source: Giants.com - Michael Eisen New York Giants WR [Sterling Shepard](=) (hamstring) told a writer from the team's website Wednesday, Oct. 13, that he will return to action Sunday in Week 6 vs. the Los Angeles Rams. 'I feel great. Ready to go,' Shepard said after the first of the Giants' two walk-throughs on Wednesday. 'I felt good (before last week's game in Dallas), but I think it was a little late in the week, and we decided to just sit it down for that last week. Back this week. Happy about that.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Giants should get both Shepard and Darius Slayton back from their hamstring injuries this week. After the breakout game of rookie WR Kadarius Toney, the Giants all of a sudden have a bounty of targets at the position. Now, we just need to see if QB Daniel Jones (concussion) can play in Week 6.
