[MIN - RB Dalvin Cook may be a game-time decision]( Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Chris Tomasson Minnesota Vikings RB [Dalvin Cook](=) (ankle) is 'doing better with his ankle' but could be a game-time decision for Week 5 versus the Detroit Lions, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cook didn't practice this week, so he's truly questionable. The team doesn't need Cook to beat the Lions, so they would be well-served letting Alexander Mattison get another start after his strong game two weeks ago vs. Seattle when Cook sat. You'll have to check in Sunday morning if you have either player. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey Doubtful]() Source: Panthers.com Carolina Panthers LB Shaq Thompson (foot) and OT Cameron Erving (neck) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 5 versus the Philadelphia Eagles. RB [Christian McCaffrey](=) (hamstring) was limited in practice all week and is listed as doubtful. DE Yetur Gross-Matos (ankle) practiced in full all week but is listed as questionable. LB Haason Reddick (neck) and C Matt Paradis (illness) practiced in full Friday, Oct. 8, and no longer appear on the injury report. OG John Miller (shoulder) was not given a practice designation on Friday but is also expected to play. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Chuba Hubbard will get the start and should be treated a low-end RB2/Flex. He could do more if the Panthers control this game instead of playing from behind like they did last week, when Rodney Smith often replaced Hubbard in the second half. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CIN - RB Joe Mixon's status coming Saturday]() Source: The Athletic - Paul Dehner Jr. Cincinnati Bengals RB [Joe Mixon](=) (ankle) will practice Saturday, Oct. 9, to determine his Week 5 status. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We would set lineups as if Mixon will be out. Samaje Perine would be a low-end RB2/Flex and sixth-round pick Chris Evans would also get work on passing downs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [WAS - Antonio Gibson working through stress fracture]() Source: The Washington Post - Sam Fortier Washington Football Team RB [Antonio Gibson](=) (shin) has played through a stress fracture in his shin in recent weeks, but he doesn't think the injury is all that serious and intends to continue playing through it, according to Sam Fortier of the Washington Post. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The injury might not keep Gibson from playing, but it will affect the size of his workload either way. Eventually it could require rest, so J.D. McKissic has some extra upside, and rookie UDFA Jaret Patterson should be on your waiver wire watch list. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [TB - TE Rob Gronkowski out for Week 5](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE [Rob Gronkowski](=) (ribs) will not play in Week 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cameron Brate is a what the heck tight end this week against Miami. Antonio Brown could get more targets with Gronkowski out, but it could also lower Tom Brady's upside as he struggled in the red zone without his top tight end last week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [BUF - Week 5 injury report for Buffalo]( Source: BuffaloBills.com Buffalo Bills RB Taiwan Jones (hamstring), LB Matt Milano (hamstring) and DE A.J. Epenesa (foot) were limited in practice Friday, Oct. 8, and are listed as questionable for Week 5 versus the Kansas City Chiefs. WR [Stefon Diggs](=) (rest) and DE Jerry Hughes (rest) did not practice Friday but are expected to play. CB Tre'Davious White (shoulder) was limited in practice all week but no longer appears on the injury report. OT Spencer Brown (knee), OG Jon Feliciano (concussion), CB Dane Jackson (knee), CB Taron Johnson (groin), DE Efe Obada (ankle), S Jordan Poyer (ankle) and DE Gregory Rousseau (toe) practiced in full Friday and have also been removed from the injury report. DT Star Lotulelei (rest), WR [Emmanuel Sanders](=), DE Mario Addison (rest) and WR [Cole Beasley](=) (rest) were not given practice designations on Friday but are also expected to be active. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Milano is a key player as the Bills are facing Travis Kelce this week. The Bills need all hands on deck for this Sunday night showdown. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [GB - Week 5 injury report for Green Bay](=) Source: Packers.com Green Bay Packers CB Jaire Alexander (shoulder) and C Josh Myers (finger) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 5 versus the Cincinnati Bengals. OT Dennis Kelly (illness) did not practice for a second straight day Friday, Oct. 8, and is listed as questionable. OG Elgton Jenkins (ankle) was limited in practice for a second straight day Friday and is also listed as questionable. DL Jack Heflin (ankle) and RB [Aaron Jones](=) (ankle) were limited in practice all week but no longer appear on the injury report. LB Krys Barnes (concussion), RB AJ Dillon (back), CB Kevin King (concussion), DL Dean Lowry (ankle), CB Isaac Yiadom (quad) and TE [Marcedes Lewis](=) (rest) practiced in full Friday and have also been removed from the injury report. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Alexander will miss the challenging assignment of rookie Ja'Marr Chase and possibly Tee Higgins returning from a shoulder injury. Upgrade Joe Burrow and Chase this week. [ARI - RB Chase Edmonds iffy for Week 5]() Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban Arizona Cardinals RB [Chase Edmonds](=) (shoulder) is expected to be a game-day decision for Week 5 versus the San Francisco 49ers, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] James Conner could get the bell cow workload against the 49ers if Chase Edmonds sits. Eno Benjamin is banged up with a hamstring issue. Jonathan Ward is the only other running back on the roster, but the team also signed Tavien Feaster to the practice squad, in anticipation of the possibility of not having Edmonds. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [NYG - Week 5 injury report for NY Giants]( Source: Giants.com New York Giants S Jabrill Peppers (hamstring), WR [Sterling Shepard](=) (hamstring) and WR [Darius Slayton](=) (hamstring) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys. OG Ben Bredeson (hand) was limited in practice all week and has also been ruled out. OT Andrew Thomas (foot) was limited in practice for a second straight day Friday, Oct. 8, and is listed as questionable. TE [Kaden Smith](=) (knee), DL Leonard Williams (knee), DB Nate Ebner (quad) and DB Logan Ryan (hip) were limited in practice Friday but no longer appear on the injury report. RB [Saquon Barkley](=) (knee), WR [Kenny Golladay](=) (groin) and WR [C.J. Board](=) (clavicle) practiced in full Friday and have also been removed from the injury report. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kadarius Toney will get another start and should be a consideration as a WR3/Flex and John Ross will get a chance to put a stamp on another game with Shepard and Slayton both sidelined. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [PHI - Philadelphia's Week 5 injury report]( Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com Philadelphia Eagles OT Lane Johnson (personal) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers. C Jason Kelce (foot, rest), CB Avonte Maddox (neck), OT Jordan Mailata (knee), WR [Quez Watkins](=) (knee) and CB Darius Slay (personal) practiced in full Friday, Oct. 8, and have been removed from the injury report. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Eagles offensive line will get back one of their tackles this week in good news for Jalen Hurts, but the return of Johnson will be welcome for a line that has also lost both starting guards. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [DEN - QB Teddy Bridgewater expected to play](=) Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis Denver Broncos QB [Teddy Bridgewater](=) (concussion) is expected to clear concussion protocol in time to play in Week 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is good news for the whole Broncos offense, but especially Tim Patrick in the passing game. The running game should benefit from a more consistent passer and get longer drives with Bridgewater, who gives the team a much more credible chance to win in Pittsburgh. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [MIA - WR DeVante Parker a game-time decision]( Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson Miami Dolphins WR [DeVante Parker](=) (hamstring) has developed soreness in his hamstring and will be a game-time decision in Week 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is too familiar for Parker, who has struggled with soft tissue injuries for most of his career. Jaylen Waddle and Mike Gesicki would be even better plays if Parker is out, but they are good plays anyway as teams have to throw a lot against the Bucs. Even if Parker is active, he's too risky to play now. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [SEA - No guarantee RB Chris Carson plays in Week 6]() Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta Seattle Seahawks RB [Chris Carson](=) (neck) did not play in Week 5 because he was 'too uncomfortable to play last night' due to an 'old issue' that flares up from time to time, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Per Carroll, Carson's return is 'to be determined.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Neck issues are always tricky, so the range for Carson here is returning next week to eventually being put on injured reserve if the issue doesn't resolve itself. Alex Collins shouldn't be on any waiver wires. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
