Topics Include: how the Cardinals were able to run away from the Rams, imagine if the Cowboys were at full strength, a huge day for Falcons RB/WR Cordarrelle Patterson, plus more! [] INSIDE THIS ISSUE 1. [CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey to test hamstring soon](#1) 2. [CIN - RB Joe Mixon week to week](#2) 3. [CHI - RB Damien Williams has bruised thigh](#3) 4. [MIA - WR Will Fuller likely to miss multiple games](#10) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey to test hamstring soon]() Source: The Athletic - Joe Person Carolina Panthers RB [Christian McCaffrey](=) (hamstring) is expected to be present at practice Wednesday, Oct. 6, so the team can test his hamstring and 'see where he is football-wise,' according to head coach Matt Rhule. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There is a chance that McCaffrey is able to play this week. He was not put on Injured Reserve and thus the team should expect him back in a couple of weeks. McCaffrey will test out his hamstring and see how it responds in practice this week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CIN - RB Joe Mixon week to week]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Cincinnati Bengals RB [Joe Mixon](=) (ankle) has been deemed 'week to week' with a low-grade ankle sprain. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Entering this season, everyone knew Mixon was going to get a huge workload...and there was concern about whether or not he'd make it through unscathed. Well, here we are after Week 4 and Mixon is week-to-week with an ankle sprain. It sounds like something the Bengals can manage and get Mixon out there for game day. Samaje Perine will get more work in order to keep Mixon fresh, and he'd be a volume-based RB2 for Fantasy GMs if Mixon had to miss time. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CHI - RB Damien Williams has bruised thigh](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Chicago Bears RB [Damien Williams](=) (thigh) suffered a bruised thigh in Week 4, but he should be OK. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Keep an eye on Williams during the week of practice. He should be good to go with this quad injury. Williams and Khalil Herbert will work in the backfield if David Montgomery (knee) misses time. Montgomery did not tear his ACL on Sunday, but a hyperextended knee could keep him out of action for a bit. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [CHI - RB David Montgomery prognosis promising]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating previous reports, Chicago Bears RB [David Montgomery](=) (knee) will have an MRI Monday, Oct. 4, but the initial tests indicate a hyperextended knee. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Great news here as Montgomery looked to be in considerable pain after the injury. He avoided a torn ACL but that doesn't mean he won't miss some time. If Montgomery misses time with this hyperextended knee the Bears could turn to Damien Williams - but he was banged up with a quad injury in Week 4. Khalil Herbert closed out the game, so watch how the week of practice goes for all involved. Fantasy GMs need to add Williams in all formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [KC - WR Josh Gordon could see the field in Week 5]( Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher Kansas City Chiefs WR Josh Gordon has a chance to play in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills, according to comments made by head coach Andy Reid on Monday, Oct. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Reid revealed that he wants Gordon to have a firm grasp on the playbook before he hits the field. The Chiefs could use some help at the wide receiver position behind Tyreek Hill. Nobody knows when we'll see Gordon's debut with the Chiefs, and who knows how much talent he has left in the tank. Gordon is a deep stash for Fantasy GMs who have the bench space and love the lottery ticket picks. [WAS - TE Logan Thomas week-to-week]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Updating a previous report, Washington Football Team TE [Logan Thomas](=) (hamstring) is considered week-to-week after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 4 versus the Atlanta Falcons. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bad news for Fantasy GMs here. The tight end position is just brutal this year, and Thomas has been coming through most every week. Now, the team turns to Ricky Seals-Jones at the tight end position...and Fantasy GMs have much better options to stream while Thomas is out. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [JAX - Jacksonville makes three moves]() Source: The Florida Times-Union - Gene Frenette Jacksonville Jaguars WR DJ Chark Jr. (ankle) and OG A.J. Cann (knee) were placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Oct. 4. OL Walker Little was also activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Chark suffered a broken ankle on Thursday night and had to be carted off the field. The Jaguars move forward with Marvin Jones Jr and Laviska Shenault as their top two wideouts. Chark enters free agency in 2022 and may not be fully healed from surgery by the time March rolls around. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [CHI - QB Dalton The Starter When Healthy](=) Source: Adam Hoge - NBCS Chicago Adam Hoge, from NBCS Chicago, reports Bears head coach Matt Nagy reiterated that QB [Andy Dalton](=) would be the team's starter when healthy. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Nagy continues to show support for the veteran Dalton even though rookie first-round pick Justin Fields had a decent performance in a win over the Lions in Week 4. Dalton was limited in practice last week dealing with this knee injury, so we'll see if he gets a full practice in this week. Fields should be considered the starter until we know more about Dalton's practice status. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [DEN - QB Teddy Bridgewater could practice soon](=) Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis Denver Broncos QB [Teddy Bridgewater](=) (concussion) could return to practice earlier than Friday, Oct. 8, 'with limitations,' according to comments from head coach Vic Fangio on Monday, Oct. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bridgewater is in the league's concussion protocol. We'll see if he gets a limited practice in on Wednesday, then he'll have to see if there are any lingering effects afterwards. If Bridgewater can't play, Drew Lock would get the start against the Steelers in Week 5. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [MIA - WR Will Fuller likely to miss multiple games](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Miami Dolphins WR [Will Fuller](=) (finger) suffered a broken finger in Week 4 and is expected to be week-to-week, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Such is life for Fuller. He's one of the most injury prone players in the NFL. Fuller can be a playmaker when he's out there on the field, but staying out there is a problem for him. Rookie Jaylen Waddle should be in line for more targets with Fuller week-to-week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family.
