[DET - WR Tyrell Williams unable to practice](#15) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [CLE - WR Odell Beckham Jr. a full go in practice](=) Source: ESPN - Jake Trotter Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. (knee) will be a full-go in practice Wednesday, Sept. 22, and has a chance to play in Week 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A full practice on Wednesday is a great sign for Beckham's availability in Week 3. Fantasy GMs should see Beckham as a WR3/flex option if he plays against the Bears on Sunday. The Browns will be without Jarvis Landry and could really benefit from Beckham's return. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CHI - Justin Fields to start](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Chicago Bears QB [Justin Fields](=) will start in place of QB [Andy Dalton](=) (knee) in Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Fields era begins in Chicago, and Fantasy GMs can benefit from the change. Fields is smart, makes full-field reads and has the athleticism to keep plays alive with his feet while keeping his eyes downfield. His scrambling ability and arm talent can make him a QB1 option in deeper leagues. Fields is also the best passer WR Allen Robinson has ever had...which says a lot. With the rookie starting, we could see him lean on Robinson and feed him the ball often. There will be bumps, he is a rookie after all, but the fantasy community and Bears fans should be excited by this. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [TB - WR Antonio Brown in danger of missing Week 3](=) Source: Buccaneers.com - Scott Smith Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR [Antonio Brown](=) was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Sept. 22, which means he's likely out for Week 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The game against the Rams is four days away, and that doesn't give Brown enough time to get cleared. With Brown likely out, expect more targets for Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Rob Gronkowski. We'll see Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson get some extra work as the no.3 receiver with Brown out of action as well. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [IND - More on QB Carson Wentz](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating previous reports, Indianapolis Colts QB [Carson Wentz](=) (ankles) may have a high-ankle sprain in his right ankle and a low-ankle sprain in his left ankle. He still hasn't ruled out playing in Week 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wentz is like Ace Ventura with the two spears sticking in his legs. Even with both ankles sprained, Wentz might be a better option for the Colts than Jacob Eason. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [MIA - Tua Tagovailoa out for Week 3](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating previous reports, Miami Dolphins QB [Tua Tagovailoa](=) (ribs) has discovered fractured ribs after further imaging, and he's out for Week 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This was originally seen as a day-to-day injury that would come down to pain tolerance. Further testing has revealed a more serious injury so Tagovailoa is out against the Raiders. That means Jacoby Brissett gets the start for the Dolphins. That means Fantasy GMs should do two things; downgrade all Dolphins skill position players and start the Raiders defense in Week 3. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [LVR - QB Derek Carr a full participant](=) Source: ESPN.com - Paul Gutierrez Las Vegas Raiders QB [Derek Carr](=) (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 22, and is on track for the Week 3 game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A good sign for Carr and the Raiders. They should be able to roll the Dolphins in Week 3 on both sides of the ball. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [CHI - QB Andy Dalton to regain job when healthy]() Source: NFL Network - Andrew Siciliano Chicago Bears QB [Andy Dalton](=) (knee) will regain the starting quarterback job when he is healthy, according to head coach Matt Nagy. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Players lose their job to injury all the time. If rookie first-round pick Justin Fields plays well as the starter, then there's no reason to go back to Dalton. Nagy using coach-speak while he still can. He's on the hot seat and needs to win to keep his job as the Bears head coach. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [HOU - QB Jeff Driskel promoted](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Houston Texans QB Jeff Driskel was promoted from the practice squad Wednesday, Sept. 22, and he'll serve as the backup. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Driskel is a seasoned veteran with some starting experience in the NFL. He hasn't been good as a starter but he's got scrambling ability so that would help if he sees the field. The Texans are going with rookie Davis Mills as their starter on Thursday against the Panthers. [SF - Two added to practice squad](=) Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco Free-agent RB Chris Thompson and DE Eddie Yarbrough were signed to the San Francisco 49ers practice squad Wednesday, Sept. 22. The team also released TE Jordan Matthews from their practice squad. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thompson has speed and quickness with the ball in his hands. The 49ers have an interchangeable backfield, so Thompson would be a player to watch if he rose up the depth chart due to injury. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [ATL - WR Russell Gage week to week](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Atlanta Falcons WR [Russell Gage](=) Jr. (ankle) is considered week to week, and he appears to be a long shot to play this week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fantasy GMs are not counting on Gage much anyway. However, they are counting on WR Calvin Ridley and TE Kyle Pitts...and this Gage injury could push more targets their way. Olamide Zaccheaus is likely to earn more playing time with Gage out of action in Week 3. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [LAC - RB Austin Ekeler to run wild?](=) Source: NFL on CBS Los Angeles Chargers RB [Austin Ekeler](=) faces the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3, and the Chiefs have allowed the most rushing yards (404), the most rushing touchdowns (7) and the most yards per rush (6.0) of any team in the NFL. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fantasy GMs are starting Ekeler every week. He could thrive against the Chiefs and be a key component for the Chargers as they try to win on the road in Week 3. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [DEN - OLB Bradley Chubb out 6-8 weeks]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Denver Broncos LB Bradley Chubb (ankle) underwent ankle surgery Tuesday, Sept. 22, and is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Tough news for Bradley Chubb and the Broncos here. They'll continue to fill in for him as they have. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [BAL - Rashod Bateman's return uncertain]( Source: NFL.com - Michael Baca Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman (groin) will be eligible to be activated from the Reserve/Injured list after the team's Week 3 game, but head coach John Harbaugh said he is not sure if Bateman will be ready to play at that time. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fantasy GMs are excited to see what the rookie can do in the NFL. Bateman underwent core surgery back in mid-August and has been on the road to recovery ever since then. The Ravens face the Broncos in Week 4 and could debut Bateman at that time. If you have deep benches and would like a flier at wide receiver then grab Bateman now. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [TB - TE Rob Gronkowski to keep rolling?](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE [Rob Gronkowski](=) faces the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3, and the Rams are allowing a 67 percent completion rate to tight ends this year. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Buccaneers are likely going to be without WR Antonio Brown (COVID list) so that means more work for Gronkowski. Fantasy GMs can plug in the veteran as a TE1 in Week 3 against the Rams. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [DET - WR Tyrell Williams unable to practice](=) Source: NFLCommunications.com Detroit Lions WR [Tyrell Williams](=) (concussion) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 22. The Lions did not hold a practice Wednesday, so this is an estimation. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It doesn't appear that Williams will be able to play this week. We'll stay on this one for you. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
