[] 1. [WAS - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick going to IR](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating earlier reports, Washington Football Team QB [Ryan Fitzpatrick](=) (hip) had an MRI confirm a hip subluxation Monday, Sept. 13, and he'll be placed on the Reserve/Injured list. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There is no indication that it's a season-ending injury yet. That means Fitzpatrick will miss at least three weeks on short-term IR. Washington turns to Taylor Heinicke as their starter while Fitzpatrick is out. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [SF - RB Raheem Mostert likely out two months](=) Source: The Athletic - Matt Barrows San Francisco 49ers RB [Raheem Mostert](=) (knee) chipped off a piece of knee cartilage early in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions and is expected to need at least eight weeks before he can return, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Rough news for Mostert again. Trey Sermon was a surprise healthy scratch in Week 1 and Elijah Mitchell saw 19 rushes for 104 yards and a touchdown. JaMycal Hasty is also in the mix. We'll be digging in hard today for new projections on the 49er rushing game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [PHI - TE Zach Ertz injury update](=) Source: 94WIP Radio - Eliot Shorr-Parks Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles TE [Zach Ertz](=) (hamstring) was able to return to the game in Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons after suffering a hamstring injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] According to head coach Nick Sirianni, the seriousness of Ertz's injury is still being evaluated. The Eagles have Dallas Goedert to lead the way at the tight end position, and he'll just get more work if Ertz has to miss time. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [SF - Brandon Aiyuk in the doghouse?](=) Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk 'tailed off dramatically' near the end of the preseason and is 'still learning how to be a pro,' which led to him being benched in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The 49ers are sending a message to Aiyuk...so let's see if he listens. Aiyuk has a ton of talent and when he gets on the field there will be lots of fantasy potential. Fantasy GMs are holding in deep-bench leagues, but some out there have to move on from Aiyuk so they can grab someone like Tim Patrick (Broncos) off the waiver wire. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [WAS - Kyle Shurmur to WAS]( Source: WashingtonFootball.com Free-agent QB Kyle Shurmur (Bengals) signed with the Washington Football Team's practice squad Monday, Sept. 13. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Shurmur, son of Broncos OC Pat Shurmur, has bounced around the league a bit since coming into the league as an undrafted free agent back in 2019. He's got prototypical size and is known as a smart player, but Shurmur should be nothing more than a practice arm for Washington. [] 6. [PIT - WR Diontae Johnson left briefly](=) Source: SI.com - Noah Strackbein Pittsburgh Steelers WR [Diontae Johnson](=) (leg) left the Week 1 game briefly in the first quarter after suffering an apparent right leg injury. He came back in the second quarter. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It was a scary moment when Johnson went down with the leg injury. Johnson came back in and caught the lone touchdown from Ben Roethlisberger in the fourth quarter. He's a favorite target and worth considering each week as a WR2 because of the volume he should get on a game-by-game basis. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [DEN - Jerry Jeudy to miss multiple weeks]() Source: The Denver Post - Ryan O'Halloran Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos WR [Jerry Jeudy](=) (ankle) suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 1 versus the New York Giants and will be out a few weeks, according to head coach Vic Fangio. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good thing the Broncos are stacked at the wide receiver position. Without Jeudy, expect guys like Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick to get more work. K.J. Hamler will work as the slot and QB Teddy Bridgewater will spread it around like he did in Week 1 when he hit nine different targets against the Giants. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [NE - RB Damien Harris to see smaller workload?](=) Source: ESPN.com - Mike Reiss New England Patriots RB [Damien Harris](=)' workload could decrease after a costly fumble late in the Week 1 game, according to beat writer Mike Reiss. Harris played 40 snaps in the game partially because RB [Rhamondre Stevenson](=) fumbled earlier in the game and took a seat. RB J.J. Taylor, who was a healthy scratch in the opener, could replace Stevenson and supplement Harris next week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Patriots have options if they want to reduce the workload for Harris. Fumbles are a big no-no for Bill Belichick, and that could lead to someone like Taylor getting a chance. Harris, Stevenson and Taylor are all talented backs but from a fantasy perspective this time split could give Fantasy GMs a splitting headache on a weekly basis. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [DET - WR Tyrell Williams in concussion protocol]( Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman Detroit Lions WR [Tyrell Williams](=) (concussion) was placed in the league's concussion protocol Monday, Sept. 13. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams will go through the protocol which may include limited practice participation this week if he responds well. The Lions can turn to guys like Kalif Raymond, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Quintez Cephus and Trinity Benson. However, the offense mainly operates through tight end T.J. Hockenson and running backs D'Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [SEA - RB Rashaad Penny likely to miss multiple weeks](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Seattle Seahawks RB [Rashaad Penny](=) (calf) aggravated a calf injury in Week 1 and is expected to get shut down for a few weeks as a result, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Penny is one of the most injury prone players in the NFL. The Seahawks could put Penny on short-term IR which would keep him out for at least three weeks. While Penny is banged up, Alex Collins will get more work behind Chris Carson.
