[DEN - Jerry Jeudy carted off in Week 1]( Source: NFL Network - James Palmer Denver Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy (ankle) left the Week 1 game against the New York Giants due to an apparent ankle injury, and he was carted off the field. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There was fear of a fracture but X-rays were negative. But Jeudy's injury is a high ankle sprain that will likely cost him multiple weeks. Courtland Sutton, Noah Fant, K.J. Hamler, and Tim Patrick still give the Broncos a strong group of pass-catchers without Jeudy, but he appeared to be emerging as Teddy Bridgewater's favorite target. The Broncos will be without him next week against the Jaguars and likely for a good bit longer. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [GB - QB Aaron Rodgers rested in fourth quarter](=) Source: ESPN Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers completed 15-of-28 passes for just 133 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints before being rested in the fourth quarter of the blowout. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Rodgers had a miserable day and appeared to be checked out in the second half before sitting. Next week brings the Lions and a get well tonic for the offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [DET - Foot injury for Jeff Odukah](=) Source: NFL.com Detroit Lions CB Jeff Okudah (foot) suffered a foot injury during the Week 1 game and did not return. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Okudah's injury might be an achilles tear, which would end his season and take out one of the Lions best defenders. This defense is already near the league's bottom, so we will be targeting the Lions defense every week. Week 2 brings a Monday night game at Green Bay. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [SEA - WR Tyler Lockett posts 100-yard game]() Source: NFL.com Seattle Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett caught four passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1. He was targeted five times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Lockett made a virtuoso adjustment to flip the shoulder he was looking over at the last second on his first score and got behind the defense deep on his second. He is healthy and has a ceiling as high as any receiver in the league against the Titans defense that gave up four touchdowns to wide receivers today. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [WAS - QB Taylor Heinicke finishes up in Week 1](=) Source: ESPN Washington Football Team QB Taylor Heinicke completed 11-of-15 passes for 122 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions while running for 17 yards. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Heinicke is almost certain to start on Thursday against the Giants after Ryan Fitzpatrick left the game with a hip injury. Just like in the playoffs, he was a game competitor and gave his teammates chances to make plays. The pass offense came alive when he entered the game. He's a must add in superflex/2QB leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [SEA - Four touchdowns for QB Russell Wilson]() Source: NFL.com Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson went 18-for-23 for 254 yards and four touchdowns in the Week 1 game against the Indianapolis Colts. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wilson didn't fill the air with footballs, but he was extremely efficient on a small volume against a shorthanded Colts secondary. Next week, he'll face a Titans defense that Kyler Murray ran ragged today. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [ATL - Kyle Pitts quiet in debut]() Source: NFL.com Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts caught four passes for 31 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. He was targeted eight times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pitts tied for the team lead in targets, which is about the best thing you can say for his day. The Bucs defense was vulnerable against the pass in Week 1 and that's who Pitts draws next week, so stick with the talented rookie. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [ATL - RB Mike Davis held in check]() Source: NFL.com Atlanta Falcons RB Mike Davis rushed for 49 yards on 15 carries against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. He also caught three passes for 23 yards during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Davis ran well early in the game, but the Eagles put the clamps on the Falcons running game as the contest went on. He'll likely be a non-factor against the Bucs next week and might not be startable if the Falcons offense doesn't build momentum soon. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [SEA - WR DK Metcalf finds end zone]() Source: NFL.com Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf caught four passes for 60 yards and one touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1. He was targeted five times in the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Metcalf's touchdown was basically the game clincher on a day that Tyler Lockett got the headlines earlier with two highlight touchdowns. As long as Russell Wilson is slinging it, Metcalf carries the same #1 wide receiver of the week upside that Lockett does. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [WAS - Antonio Gibson runs for 90 yards](=) Source: ESPN Washington Football Team RB Antonio Gibson rushed 20 times for 90 yards in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers, although he also did lose a fumble. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gibson's fumble was a turning point in the game and it will stick out more in his mind than the solid game on the ground. A short turnaround to a Thursday night date with the Giants could help Gibson put it behind him. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [PHI - DeVonta Smith scores in debut]() Source: NFL.com Philadelphia Eagles WR DeVonta Smith caught six passes for 71 yards and one touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1. He was targeted eight times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith was hot early and looks like a hit with Jalen Hurts playing well. He's strong WR3/Flex heading into a matchup with the 49ers. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [ATL - QB Matt Ryan held to 164 yards]() Source: NFL.com Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan went 21-for-35 for 164 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ryan threw well early to Calvin Ridley but then the Falcons pass offense got bogged down and never really woke up. Expect him to pass a ton vs. the Bucs next week, but Ryan is only worth a look in superflex/2QB leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [NYJ - Michael Carter goes nowhere fast](=) Source: ESPN New York Jets RB Michael Carter rushed four times for just six yards in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers and he added one grab for 14 yards on two targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Carter wasn't used heavily in either part of the offense. He's droppable heading into a Week 2 showdown with the Patriots. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [IND - Two touchdowns for WR Zach Pascal]() Source: NFL.com Indianapolis Colts WR Zach Pascal caught four passes for 43 yards and two touchdowns against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1. He was targeted five times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pascal worked the middle of the field well and he has Carson Wentz's trust. It looks like he'll be the most valuable Colts receiver for the time being. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [PHI - TE Dallas Goedert catches TD pass]() Source: NFL.com Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert caught four passes for 42 yards and one touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1. He was targeted five times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Zach Ertz got a little banged up in this one, which helped out fantasy teams that had to rely on Goedert this week. Next, he'll face a 49ers defense that gave up a big day to T.J. Hockenson. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [SEA - TE Gerald Everett catches TD pass]() Source: NFL.com Seattle Seahawks TE Gerald Everett caught two passes for 20 yards and one touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Everett extended for a score on a Russell Wilson bullet in the red zone, but shared tight end targets with a resurgent Will Dissly. He's still a good streamer against the Titans next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [PIT - Najee Harris mediocre in NFL debut]() Source: ESPN Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris rushed 16 times for just 45 yards in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, and he also added one grab for three yards on three targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Harris didn't find room to run and wasn't heavily used in the passing game even though was the only Steelers halfback to see a snap. He should be in lineups against the Raiders next week in what will be an easier matchup for the Steelers offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [WAS - TE Logan Thomas gets into the end zone](=) Source: ESPN Washington Football Team TE Logan Thomas registered three catches for 30 yards and a touchdown while absorbing all three of his targets in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thomas, like the rest of the Washington offense, only had a pulse with backup Taylor Heinicke in. Next week he'll face a Giants defense that gave up a lot to Broncos tight ends today. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [ATL - WR Russell Gage held off stat sheet]() Source: NFL.com Atlanta Falcons WR Russell Gage Jr. was targeted two times during the Week 1 game against the Philadelphia Eagles but finished the game with zero receptions. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gage is droppable as he wasn't a priority target for Matt Ryan in a pass offense that focused more on the tight ends than last year's passing game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [IND - Fifteen touches for RB Nyheim Hines]() Source: NFL.com Indianapolis Colts RB Nyheim Hines caught six passes for 48 yards against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1. He also rushed for 34 yards on nine carries during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hines role has grown, in line with recent reports, giving him flex value in PPR leagues. He should be a frequent outlet for Carson Wentz against pressure from the Rams defense next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 21. [IND - QB Carson Wentz ok in debut]() Source: NFL.com Indianapolis Colts QB Carson Wentz went 25-for-38 for 251 yards and two touchdowns against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1. He also rushed for 23 yards on four carries during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wentz and the Colts offense didn't threaten downfield and never really gave the Colts a chance to win against Russell Wilson. He'll face a tough Rams defense next week, so things won't get easier for Wentz. [NYJ - Zach Wilson tosses two TDs in debut](=) Source: ESPN New York Jets QB Zach Wilson completed 20-of-37 passes for 258 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wilson was under fire and struggling to make a first down for a while, but eventually had success by extending a play and finding Corey Davis for a deep score. He'll be without stud left tackle Mekhi Becton for at least a few games, beginning next week against the Patriots. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 23. [PIT - Three receptions for Chase Claypool]() Source: ESPN Pittsburgh Steelers WR Chase Claypool posted three grabs for 45 yards in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills. He was targeted five times. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Claypool got loose on his one touch on the ground for 25 yards and advanced the ball deep into the red zone. The Steelers pass offense is looking like a high volume unit and Ben Roethlisberger isn't throwing downfield (nor is the offensive line giving him time to), so we have to hope that he breaks a big play against the Raiders next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 24. [SEA - RB Chris Carson plays well in Week 1]() Source: NFL.com Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson rushed for 91 yards on 16 carries against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1. He also caught three passes for 26 yards during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Carson was the clear lead back as Rashaad Penny left with a calf injury. He finished his runs with power and appears to be in midseason form heading into a matchup against the vulnerable Titans defense next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 25. [LAC - WR Mike Williams scores in the opener](=) Source: ESPN Los Angeles Chargers WR [Mike Williams](=) posted eight grabs for 82 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Washington Football Team on 12 targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi hyped Williams upside, so this was a predictable result. Justin Herbert stuck with Williams despite inconsistent hands in a great sign for his value going forward. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 26. [WAS - WR Terry McLaurin leads team in receiving](=) Source: ESPN Washington Football Team WR Terry McLaurin posted four grabs for 62 yards on four targets in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McLaurin was quiet with Ryan Fitzpatrick in a troubling development for his overall outlook, but he made an unbelievable play on a risky Taylor Heinicke deep ball, so perhaps the backup is better for him right now than the injured starter. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 27. [CAR - WR D.J. Moore turns in a solid showing](=) Source: ESPN Carolina Panthers WR D.J. Moore racked up six grabs for 80 yards on eight targets in Week 1 against the New York Jets and he added one run for 14 yards. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Moore is still in good shape despite the Panthers extending a receiver that played with the new quarterback for two years and drafting a rookie that was a camp sensation. He'll tangle with a banged up Marshon Lattimore and the Saints next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 28. [BUF - WR Cole Beasley busy with eight catches]() Source: ESPN Buffalo Bills WR Cole Beasley registered eight grabs for 60 yards on 13 targets in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Beasley was frequently targeted against a Steelers defense that had some issues at nickel back, but he never did great damage on his receptions. He'll be a top target again next week because he'll dodge the Dolphins outside corner duo. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 29. [CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey totals 187 yards](=) Source: ESPN Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey rushed 21 times for 98 yards in Week 1 against the New York Jets and he added nine receptions for 89 yards on nine targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McCaffrey has resumed taking the offense on his back and looking good doing it. This was only a median game for McCaffrey because he didn't score and the Panthers offense didn't need to light up the scoreboard to beat the Jets. The Saints strong defense will attempt to corral him next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 30. [NYJ - WR Corey Davis cashes in two touchdowns](=) Source: ESPN New York Jets WR Corey Davis ended up with five receptions for 97 yards in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Davis scored twice in a massive Week 1 result for those that trusted him in fantasy lineups after he was clearly Zach Wilson's favorite target in the preseason. He'll face the Stephon Gilmore-less Patriots secondary next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 31. [BUF - QB Josh Allen tosses just one TD in Week 1]() Source: ESPN Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen completed 30-of-51 passes for 270 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also ran nine times for 44 yards. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Nothing came easy for Allen, saw a lot of pressure and wasn't effective on designed runs. He'll face a tough Miami secondary next week, but should still be in lineups if this what his floor games look like. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 32. [LAC - Justin Herbert goes over 300 yards in win](=) Source: ESPN Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert completed 31-of-47 passes for 337 yards, one touchdown and one interception in a Week 1 road win against the Washington Football Team. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Herbert picked up where he left off last year, completing passes downfield with ease to a variety of receivers. Keenan Allen and Mike Williams look like hits with Herbert playing the way he did today. He'll get to pick on the Cowboys defense next week and should be in lineups. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 33. [LAC - RB Austin Ekeler finds end zone in Week 1](=) Source: ESPN Los Angeles Chargers QB Austin Ekeler ran 15 times for 57 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Washington Football Team. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ekeler was curiously not targeted, which is probably an aberration. His touchdown came on first and goal from inside the five, which would signal a welcome change to Ekeler's use on goal to go plays. Overall, his Week 1 was underwhelming. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 34. [PHI - Jalen Hurts accounts for three touchdowns]() Source: NFL.com Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts went 27-for-35 for 264 yards and three touchdowns against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1. He also rushed for 62 yards on seven carries during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hurts was outstanding in a statement game that happened in the same stadium that saw him both relieve and be relieved by Tua Tagovailoa in big Alabama wins over Georgia. He'll face a 49ers defense that softened up late against the Lions but otherwise had a strong Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 35. [CAR - QB Sam Darnold totals two TDs vs. old team](=) Source: ESPN Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold completed 24-of-35 passes for 279 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Week 1 against the New York Jets and he ran for another score. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Darnold was able to hook up with his old #1 receiver from the Jets on a deep score and smartly relied on Christian McCaffrey and D.J. Moore. Next, he'll face the Saints defense that smothered Aaron Rodgers and the Packers today. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 36. [IND - Jonathan Taylor involved in run, pass game]() Source: NFL.com Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor rushed for 56 yards on 17 carries against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1. He also caught six passes for 60 yards in the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Taylor had a red zone reception and his usage in the passing game saved his fantasy day. Taylor is in more of a committee with Nyheim Hines than anticipated in snap count with a 42-34, but as long as he gets 23 touches, he'll be a factor for fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 37. [NYJ - RB Tevin Coleman leads backfield in Week 1](=) Source: ESPN New York Jets WR Tevin Coleman rushed nine times for a team-high 24 yards in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers and he wasn't targeted in the pass game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Coleman has the most value of any Jets back coming out of Week 1, but none of them are worth carrying except in the deepest of fantasy leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 38. [ATL - RB Cordarrelle Patterson top rusher for ATL]() Source: NFL.com Atlanta Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson rushed for 54 yards on seven carries against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. He also caught two passes for 13 yards in the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Patterson is the clear backup to Mike Davis and should be carried in deep leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 39. [BUF - WR Stefon Diggs targeted 14 times in Week 1]() Source: ESPN Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs registered game highs with nine receptions, 69 yards and 14 targets in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Diggs was saved by a high pass volume day for Josh Allen with 51 attempts against a strong Steelers pass defense. He'll face the tough Dolphins corners in Week 2. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 40. [PHI - RB Miles Sanders posts over 100 total yards]() Source: NFL.com Philadelphia Eagles RB Miles Sanders rushed for 74 yards on 15 carries against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1. He also caught four passes for 39 yards during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sanders looked spry and fast in the win. He's the clear lead back, in on 47 snaps compared to Kenny Gainwell's 25. Sanders should be in your lineup against the 49ers defense that gave up a lot to Lions backs today. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 41. [LAC - WR Keenan Allen hits century mark in road win](=) Source: ESPN Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen registered nine receptions for 100 yards in the Week 1 road win against the Washington Football Team. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Allen could lead the league in receptions this year if he plays in all 17 games. He would be a second round pick if drafts were held today. Next week he'll get to run routes against the Cowboys defensive backs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
