[] 1. [WAS - WR Curtis Samuel a no-go Wednesday](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Washington Football Team WR Curtis Samuel (groin) reportedly tweaked his groin while warming up and did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's a disappointing development for a player who missed all of the preseason and training camp with this groin injury. Let's see if he can get back out there for a full practice on Friday. If Samuel misses Week 1 against the Chargers, it would lead to more opportunities for WRs Adam Humphries and Dyami Brown could also get more work. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [IND - QB Carson Wentz good to go](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Indianapolis Colts QB Carson Wentz (foot) will practice in full Wednesday, Sept. 8, and will be ready for Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This was the plan all along...even though there were some extra twists and turns with Wentz. The Colts are at home in Week 1 to play the Seahawks in Week 1, and Wentz is more of a low-end QB2 for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [TB - Tampa Bay's Week 1 injury report]() Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero Tampa Bay Buccaneers S Jordan Whitehead (hamstring) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 1 versus the Dallas Cowboys. RB Giovani Bernard (ankle), WR [Antonio Brown](=) (knee), WR Chris Godwin (quad), TE [Rob Gronkowski](=) (rest), DT Steve McLendon (rest) and LB Jason Pierre-Paul (rest) practiced in full Wednesday, Sept. 8, and no longer appear on the injury report. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's a good sign for Godwin that he's off the injury report with his quad injury. Start him as per usual in Week 1 as he faces off against the Cowboys on Thursday night. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [NE - Rhamondre Stevenson has dislocated thumb](=) Source: The Athletic - Jeff Howe New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson (thumb) suffered a dislocated thumb last week, but he could play in Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Stevenson set the preseason on fire with big plays, and Fantasy GMs are excited to see more from him in the regular season. This thumb injury could cause ball security issues, but it sounds like the team is comfortable letting him play through it. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NFL - QB Cam Newton not ready to retire]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Free-agent QB Cam Newton (Patriots) said on Instagram Wednesday, Sept. 8, that he has a lot of football left and isn't ready to retire. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Newton doesn't have a new team yet, but it shouldn't be too long before some squad out there picks him up. Most thought the Cowboys would go after Newton when he was released by the Patriots but that hasn't happened. Instead, they picked up Will Grier off waivers and Newton is left to wait. He's not retiring but there's no telling where Newton will land. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [NYG - TE Evan Engram out of practice]() Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan New York Giants TE Evan Engram (calf) isn't expected to practice Wednesday, Sept. 8, and his Week 1 status is in doubt. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No surprise here. It would be a surprise if Engram plays against the Broncos in Week 1. Fantasy GMs should've been prepared for this if they drafted Engram. Have other options at the ready. The Giants will turn to Kyle Rudolph as their starter with Engram down. Kaden Smith could get some more work as well. [] 7. [DAL - WR Noah Brown cleared to return]( Source: Dallas Morning News - Michael Gehlken Dallas Cowboys WR Noah Brown was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Sept. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brown is a player we appreciate in deep dynasty formats. He's unlikely to contribute much this season unless injuries strike in front of him on the depth chart. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [HOU - RB Mark Ingram will be involved]() Source: NFL Network - James Palmer Houston Texans RB Mark Ingram will be involved in a run-first offense with RB Phillip Lindsay and RB David Johnson. The team only has five receivers and will look to run the ball as much as they can, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That makes sense...and it makes things a mess for Fantasy GMs to navigate. The Texans offense is one best left alone early on as things shake out. If one of the backs emerges then perhaps you'll have something more than a flex play. We'll see if that happens with one of the teams in line to be the worst in the NFL. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [BAL - Baltimore adding RB Trenton Cannon]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Free-agent RB Trenton Cannon (Panthers) signed an undisclosed contract with the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday, Sept. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cannon is a fast back who can change direction without losing much speed. The Ravens already added Le'Veon Bell to their practice squad as they continue to look for running back help after losing both J.K. Dobbins and Justice Hill for the season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [BUF - Wednesday's practice report for Buffalo]( Source: 1 No Source Buffalo Bills DT Star Lotulelei (calf) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 8. CB Taron Johnson (hand) and WR [Emmanuel Sanders](=) (foot) were limited. WR Isaiah McKenzie (shoulder) and DT Harrison Phillips (knee) practiced in full. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sanders foot injury could lead to more snaps for Gabriel Davis. We'll know more about Sanders status on Friday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [TEN - No practice for WR A.J. Brown on Wednesday](=) Source: ESPN.com - Turron Davenport Tennessee Titans WR A.J. Brown (knee) was limited to work on a stationary bike and did not take part in practice Wednesday, Sept. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's Week 1 but the Titans are going to be cautious with Brown. Wednesdays could just be a veteran rest day for him most weeks. We'll see if he can practice fully on Friday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
