[TB - WR Chris Godwin nursing quad injury]() Source: The Athletic - Greg Auman Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (quad) was added to the injury report with a quad injury and limited in practice Tuesday, Sept. 7. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is a new injury and a concern as the Buccaneers play against the Cowboys on Thursday night. He was limited in practice and not out, so perhaps this move is just precautionary. Greg Auman of The Athletic reported today, "Folks, we're not going to have answers on Chris Godwin until Thursday night and warmups. He did something to tweak his quad, was limited today. Even if they thought he was out, they'd wait until warmups to say anything. He's played through injuries before, so we'll see." Watch this one closely. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [DET - D'Andre Swift good to go](=) Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett Detroit Lions RB D'Andre Swift (groin) will be good to go for Week 1, according to head coach Dan Campbell. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for the Lions and Fantasy GMs here. Swift is going to be the centerpiece of the Lions offense in 2021 if he can handle the workload. He missed all of the preseason and most of training camp dealing with this injury. The Lions could mix in Jamaal Williams more if they want to ease Swift into action. Swift is a low-end RB2 or flex play for Fantasy GMs in PPR leagues in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [WAS - WR Curtis Samuel unsure about status]() Source: ESPN.com - John Keim Washington Football Team WR Curtis Samuel (groin) said he is not sure if he will be available for the Week 1 game. He said his main goal is to be healthy. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Washington head coach Ron Rivera believes Samuel will be ready. He should be able to build chemistry quickly with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick after missing all of training camp and the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [NE - TE Hunter Henry expects to be ready](=) Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams New England Patriots TE Hunter Henry (shoulder) said he expects to be available for the Week 1 game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's the Patriots, so don't expect the injury report to provide clarity. We will be able to decipher if he's participating, but that's about it. Monitor Henry's progress this week to see if anything concrete about his availability comes out. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NYJ - RB Tevin Coleman the guy]() Source: NewYorkJets.com New York Jets RB Tevin Coleman is listed as the starting running back for Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Coleman is the starter, which should not come as a surprise given his experience and knowledge of the system. He's still fast in a straight line, and the LaFleur (Shanahan) offense is going to give him plenty of cutback opportunities. The Jets have Coleman as the starter, but Ty Johnson could get some work as a reserve. Rookie Michael Carter is also there, and if he gets on the field then this could be a three-headed backfield. Fantasy GMs can look to Coleman as a 'what the heck' flex with upside in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [DEN - TE Noah Fant slated to go]( Source: NFL Network - James Palmer Denver Broncos TE Noah Fant (leg) is expected to play in the season opener against the New York Giants. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fant has been dealing with an undisclosed leg injury over the last couple of weeks. He's going to be a favorite target of QB Teddy Bridgewater and has low-end TE1 value for Fantasy GMs. This could be a breakout season for Fant so long as he stays healthy. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [IND - TE Jordan Thomas released]() Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson Indianapolis Colts TE Jordan M. Thomas (undisclosed) was waived from the Reserve/Injured list on Monday, Sept. 6, after reaching an injury settlement. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thomas has tremendous size and athleticism but he's not sticking with any roster in the NFL. We'll see if his athletic profile gets him yet another shot. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [BAL - Baltimore works out two players](=) Source: SI.com - Albert Breer Free-agent QB Kenji Bahar (Ravens) and RB Elijah Holyfield (Eagles) recently worked out for the Baltimore Ravens. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Ravens are looking for running back help with J.K Dobbins and Justice Hill lost for the regular season. [CHI - TE Jimmy Graham reworks contract]( Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates Chicago Bears TE [Jimmy Graham](=) restructured his deal Tuesday, Sept. 7, to convert $5.825 million of base salary into a signing bonus and free up $4.66 million of salary cap space. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Graham is still with the Bears as veteran depth behind Cole Kmet. We'll see Kmet take over the position this year, and he's a TE2 for Fantasy GMs. Graham has little fantasy value unless Kmet gets banged up. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [CHI - WR Breshad Perriman officially signs]() Source: ChicagoBears.com The Chicago Bears signed free-agent WR Breshad Perriman (Lions) on a Monday, Sept. 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Perriman did little to impress during his time with the WR-desperate Lions. We're not expecting much other than Perriman giving the Bears veteran depth at the position. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [NO - RB Latavius Murray done in New Orleans]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter New Orleans Saints RB Latavius Murray reportedly refused a pay cut and was released Tuesday, Sept. 7. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Murray should have interest on the open market. In fact, the Ravens should be calling him as soon as possible. Without Murray, the Saints turn to Tony Jones as the primary backup to Alvin Kamara. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [CIN - QB Jake Browning catches on with Cincy]( Source: Bengals.com Free-agent QB Jake Browning was signed to the practice squad of the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday, Sept. 7. P Drue Chrisman was released in a corresponding move. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Browning is a young passer who needs time to develop. His pocket passing should get more work as a practice squad player with the Bengals. We'll still monitor Browning but only in super deep dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [LAR - RB Sony Michel should be available for opener]() Source: TheRams.com - Stu Jackson Los Angeles Rams RB Sony Michel has a good chance to be available for the Week 1 game, but head coach Sean McVay said the team will know more after a few practices. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Michel should get plenty of work in the Rams backfield when he's up to speed. It's quite possible the Rams ease him into action as he learns the playbook. That means Darrell Henderson might get a little more work than Michel early on. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [ATL - RB Cordarrelle Patterson the primary backup RB?]( Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - D. Orlando Ledbetter Atlanta Falcons RB/WR Cordarrelle Patterson is listed as the team's official Week 1 depth chart as the second-string running back behind Mike Davis and ahead of Wayne Gallman. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Keep this in mind in case Davis is banged up. Patterson is a strong runner who could have an opportunity to do more with the Falcons. Gallman has proven to be a good reserve runner as well, and the Falcons would likely use a RBBC if Davis is hurt. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [ATL - Atlanta adds RB Qadree Ollison to practice squad](=) Source: AtlantaFalcons.com Free-agent RB Qadree Ollison was signed to the practice squad of the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday, Sept. 7. C Sam Jones was released from the practice squad to make room. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A fifth-round pick out of PITT in the 2019 NFL draft, Ollison has appeared in seven games for the Falcons over the last two seasons. He brings power to the field and gives the Falcons an interesting developmental prospect on their practice squad.
