[DAL - Full practice for QB Dak Prescott]( Source: The Dallas Morning News - Michael Gehlken Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (shoulder) fully participated in practice Monday, Sept. 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for the Cowboys and Fantasy GMs here. Prescott is set to start in Week 1 against the Buccaneers. He's a QB1 each week, regardless of matchup - including a tough matchup like this week coming up on Thursday night. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NYG - RB Saquon Barkley preparing to play](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (knee) is close to being fully cleared and is preparing to play in Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Giants have been working Barkley back to this point with the idea that he could be ready for the season opener. He should be able to start against the Broncos in Week 1, but the size of his role is unknown. If the team wants to ease Barkley back into action, Devontae Booker would get more snaps. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NYG - TE Evan Engram a long shot](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport New York Giants TE Evan Engram (calf) is viewed as a long shot to play in Week 1, but they haven't fully ruled him out. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Giants will see what Engram looks like during the week of practice leading up to Week 1 against the Broncos. A calf injury in the preseason finale has put Engram's availability in question. If Engram is out, and he's likely out for the opener, the Giants can turn to Kyle Rudolph as their starter. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [SF - Trey Lance still not throwing](=) Source: ESPN.com - Nick Wagoner San Francisco 49ers QB Trey Lance (finger) was able to practice without a splint on his injured finger Monday, Sept. 6. However, he was not allowed to take snaps or throw Monday. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see if Lance can ramp up his participation in practice later this week. The 49ers have plans on using both Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo to attack defenses this season. If Lance is banged up, his portion of the gameplan could be limited. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [SF - Brandon Aiyuk back at work Monday](=) Source: ESPN.com - Nick Wagoner San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring) returned to practice Monday, Sept. 6 - his first practice in 10 days. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The 49ers want to make sure that Aiyuk suffers no setbacks this week. They'll see how his body responds on Tuesday after getting some work in on Monday. If he plays in Week 1, and things are trending that way, Fantasy GMs can trust Aiyuk as a low-end WR2 or flex play with upside against the Lions. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [HOU - QB Tyrod Taylor to start at quarterback](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Houston Texans QB Tyrod Taylor will start at quarterback in Week 1. QB Deshaun Watson is on the roster, but he will not play. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Zero surprise here. Taylor has the most experience on the Texans roster and Deshaun Watson is going to be a healthy scratch each week. We'll see Taylor as the starter until the Texans decide they want to go with rookie third-round pick Davis Mills. The rookie from Stanford had a rough training camp and is far from being ready. Mills threw the most uncatchable passes among any rookie in the 2021 preseason, according to Pro Football Focus. Who knows how long Taylor will be the starter for the Texans. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [MIA - Miami loses two to COVID list]( Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates Miami Dolphins LT Austin Jackson and TE Adam Shaheen were placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Sept. 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Shaheen will miss Week 1 of the regular season. The Dolphins also have Cethan Carter (knee) banged up, so that means rookie Hunter Long could see some snaps behind starter Mike Gesicki. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [NO - QB Trevor Siemian back on roster]() Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo Free-agent QB Trevor Siemian (Saints) agreed to terms with the New Orleans Saints Monday, Sept. 6, according to a source. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Saints released Siemian at final cuts with the plan to bring him back. He's got plenty of starting experience and will work as the no.3 quarterback behind Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill. [WAS - Jonathan Williams to practice squad]() Source: NFL.com Free-agent RB Jonathan Williams was signed to the Washington Football Team practice squad Monday, Sept. 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams and his college teammate Alex Collins (Seahawks) both have talent but have bounced around the league since coming into the league several years ago. We appreciate Williams talent as a runner but he's a long-shot to do anything with his new team. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [WAS - WR Curtis Samuel returns to practice]() Source: NBC Sports Washington - JP Finlay Washington Football Team WR Curtis Samuel (groin) 'looked good' and 'moved around well' in his return to practice Monday, Sept. 6, according to head coach Ron Rivera. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Rivera has previously stated that he's 'very confident' that Samuel will be ready to go in Week 1. Samuel is set to start opposite of Terry McLaurin with the new-look Washington passing game. He missed all of camp, but Samuel should be able to quickly build chemistry with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [CAR - Chuba Hubbard set to return kicks]() Source: The Athletic - Joe Person Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard will open the season as the team's primary kick returner, according to head coach Matt Rhule. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hubbard has great foot frequency and can change direction without losing much speed. He's a reserve running back behind Christian McCaffrey but will get on the field as a special teams player. Hubbard is one of our favorite dynasty league running backs who is just waiting for an opportunity on offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [NO - WR Chris Hogan re-signs with Saints]() Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo Free-agent WR Chris Hogan (Saints) re-signed with the New Orleans Saints Monday, Sept. 6, on an undisclosed deal. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hogan is back with the Saints but he's not in line for a large role with the team. The Saints released Hogan at final cuts, but the plan was to always bring him back. They're looking for as much help as possible with WR Michael Thomas (ankle reserve/PUP) out to start the regular season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [JAX - RB Duke Johnson joins practice squad]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Free-agent RB Duke Johnson was signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad Monday, Sept. 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Johnson has change-of-pace skills which could get him moving up the depth chart with the Jaguars. He's a long-shot to do anything for the team, but this is a "name move" to add depth to the roster. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [NYJ - RB Josh Adams added to active roster](=) Source: NewYorkJets.com - Ethan Greenberg New York Jets practice squad RB Josh Adams was signed to the 53-man roster Monday, Sept. 6. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Adams is a big-bodied banger who can live between the tackles. He's currently buried on the depth chart behind Tevin Coleman, Ty Johnson, Michael Carter and La'Mical Perine. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [HOU - WR Anthony Miller gets some work in Monday]() Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson Houston Texans WR Anthony Miller (shoulder) returned to practice Monday, Sept. 6 - his first action since dislocating his shoulder in the team's preseason opener last month. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Miller has missed almost all of the preseason and training camp due to this shoulder injury. He has a history of shoulder injuries, so the team is likely to ease him back into action. This means you shouldn't see Miller on the field for the Texans in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [CHI - WR Allen Robinson as sure-handed as they come]() Source: Pro Football Focus Chicago Bears WR Allen Robinson has dropped six of the 417 targets he has seen since the start of the 2018 season, according to Pro Football Focus. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Robinson has never played with a great quarterback, but that may change if/when rookie QB Justin Fields takes over for the Bears. Fantasy GMs can look to Robinson as a low-end WR1 with upside. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
