[] INSIDE THIS ISSUE 1. [NYJ - WR Jamison Crowder out due to COVID-19](#1) 2. [NYG - RB Saquon Barkley back into the swing of it](#2) 3. [DEN - Albert Okwuegbunam ready if needed](#3) 4. [LVR - RB Peyton Barber signed by Raiders](#4) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [NYJ - WR Jamison Crowder out due to COVID-19]() Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero New York Jets WR Jamison Crowder tested positive for COVID-19 Friday, Sept. 3, and he's questionable for Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Crowder was already day-to-day with a groin issue and now this. We'll know more about his practice status next week. Keep in mind that Crowder's absence would mean even more snaps and more targets for rookie Elijah Moore. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NYG - RB Saquon Barkley back into the swing of it](=) Source: New York Daily News - Pat Leonard New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (knee) said he felt good and took some good shots in pass protection, route running and running the ball in practice Thursday, Sept. 2. Barkley wore a band of foam rolled up underneath his right knee cap for comfort to help absorb pressure and stabilize the patellar tendon. Barkley said he still has work to get done because he has only practiced for three days after being out for 12 months. 'I know whenever I'm able to get back out there, even if we don't -- you know, maybe it might be one quarter, maybe it might be one play -- whatever the opportunity is, when I'm back out there, I know I'm gonna be able to go out there and be who I am and play how I am,' Barkley said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Barkley is back in action ahead of Week 1 against the Broncos and that's good. Now the bad news; he may not be 100 percent and he's going up against a Vic Fangio defense in the season opener. That means Barkley is more of a RB2 due to his health status and the matchup. Watch his practice status next week. [DEN - Albert Okwuegbunam ready if needed]() Source: 1 No Source Denver Broncos TE Albert Okwuegbunam is 'definitely ready' to be the starter if TE Noah Fant (leg) is unavailable against the New York Giants in Week 1, according to head coach Vic Fangio. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Okwuegbunam is built like Fant...in fact, he's a little larger and a little faster. The Broncos wouldn't miss much of a beat if Okwuegbunam was out there instead of Fant in Week 1 against the Giants. We think Fant could have a breakout season but this undisclosed leg injury has the start of his 2021 season in question. Stay tuned to Fant's practice status next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [LVR - RB Peyton Barber signed by Raiders]( Source: The Athletic - Ben Standig Washington Football Team RB Peyton Barber was signed off the practice squad by the Las Vegas Raiders Friday, Sept. 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Barber gives the Raiders another hard-charging running back on the roster. They have Josh Jacobs as the starter and Kenyan Drake will work into the mix as a change-of-pace and receiving back. We'll see where Barber ends up on the depth chart behind those two. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Team.
