[Free Content - 6 TEs We Project to Differ from Dynasty Draft Cost]() The difference between startup draft cost and our 2021 projections is a critical inefficiency to exploit at the tight end position. Here are 4 tight ends we project to beat their cost and 2 we project to miss their cost. Our Jordan McNamara breaks it down. [] INSIDE THIS ISSUE 1. [JAX - Travis Etienne done for the year](#1) 2. [NE - TE Kahale Warring catches on with New England](#11) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [JAX - Travis Etienne done for the year]( Source: NFL Network - James Palmer Updating previous reports, Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (foot) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Aug. 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Alright, in this ever-evolving situation we finally have some clarity. Earlier reports indicated 12 weeks absence for the rookie running back. Now, by putting him on IR at this point the Jaguars are making him ineligible to return this season. James Robinson is the clear-cut lead back with Carlos Hyde chipping in as a reserve. WR Laviska Shenault will get more gadget work as he can line up all over the formation - even in the backfield - to catch passes. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NO - Adam Trautman injury update](=) Source: NewOrleans.Football - Nick Underhill Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints TE Adam Trautman (ankle, foot) is scheduled to meet with a specialist soon to get an exact timeline on the foot or ankle injury he suffered on Aug. 23. However, the 'initial belief' is that his injury is minor, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see Trautman eased back into action before the start of the regular season. With Nick Vannett (knee) banged up, the Saints would have to start Juwan Johnson if Trautman has to miss time. We'll keep an eye on this situation and if it is minor, and if Trautman is going to play early, then he's still a TE2 with upside for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [TEN - WR Julio Jones finally back at practice]() Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper Tennessee Titans WR Julio Jones (undisclosed) took part in practice Tuesday, Aug. 24, for the first time since falling awkwardly during practice Aug. 2. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones will get eased into action with his new team as he comes back from the awkward fall. He'll work with A.J. Brown to give the Titans a great 1-2 punch at the wide receiver position. Jones has a current ADP of WR16 (4.06) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [NO - TE Nick Vannett injured](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport New Orleans Saints TE Nick Vannett (knee) is undergoing an MRI Tuesday, Aug. 24, to determine the severity of a knee injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Vannett has the most experience in the Saints tight end room, but he's competing for the no.2 TE job behind starter Adam Trautman. However, Trautman suffered an injury on Monday night and his availability going forward is unknown at this time. When the severity is known, we'll be able to better determine how it could impact the pecking order of the reserve tight ends in New Orleans. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CHI - QB Andy Dalton the starter](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Chicago Bears QB Andy Dalton will not play in the final preseason game because he's the Week 1 starter, according to head coach Matt Nagy. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Dalton is the main man for Nagy, largely due to his experience as a starter in this league. 2021 first-round pick Justin Fields has been hot-and-cold as a passer in the preseason, but he's the future of the team at the position. Dalton's the starter for now but Fields will take over at some point - perhaps sooner than some think. If you take Fields late in your draft, because he does have QB1 upside despite still learning as a passer, then make sure you have a third QB who could fill in if your starter is on bye or gets banged up. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [NO - Ian Book attracting trade interest]() Source: Locked On Podcast - Ross Jackson New Orleans Saints QB Ian Book is reportedly of interest to multiple NFL teams, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Book was a fourth-round pick out of Notre Dame in the 2021 NFL draft. He's a work in progress as a passer but Book has the ability to pick up yards with his legs. We can't imagine the Saints getting more than a fourth-rounder for him, and it's interesting they may consider trading him away since Book is an interesting developmental prospect the team likes. [NO - Marquez Callaway lights up the Jags](=) Source: ESPN.com New Orleans Saints WR Marquez Callaway caught all five of his targets for 104 yards and two touchdowns in a preseason game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday, Aug. 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Callaway is the top wide receiver for the Saints with Michael Thomas out of action. The team has been hyping him up all offseason, and Callaway is coming through in practice and in preseason games. Expect his current ADP of WR54 (11.11) to rise with this performance. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [CAR - WR Robby Anderson agrees to extension](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Carolina Panthers WR Robby Anderson agreed to a two-year, $29.5 million extension Tuesday, Aug. 24. He'll earn $14.75 million per year with $20 million fully guaranteed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Anderson was in the final year of his contract before this extension. He posted career-best numbers in 2020 and now gets to catch passes from former Jets teammate QB Sam Darnold. Anderson is going to compete with D.J. Moore and rookie Terrace Marshall for targets in 2021. He's got a current ADP of WR35 (8.02) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [CHI - Justin Fields to start final preseason game](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields will start the final preseason game as head coach Matt Nagy named QB Andy Dalton the starter. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Dalton is the starter, but how long will he be atop the depth chart? Fantasy GMs are still taking Fields late with the idea that Dalton may only get a few games as the main man. Nagy needs to win in order to keep his job and he'll use that mindset when making decisions on his quarterback. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [ATL - QB Josh Rosen to continue his career in Atlanta](=) Source: ESPN - Jordan Schultz Free-agent QB Josh Rosen (49ers) reportedly agreed to terms on an undisclosed contract with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, Aug. 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Rosen gets yet another shot to get his career on track. A first-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft, Rosen is now on his fifth pro team. When Rosen came out of UCLA, some compared him to Matt Ryan and now he gets to learn from Ryan - perhaps as the primary backup to the veteran. Rosen will compete with undrafted rookie Feleipe Franks for that spot. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [NE - TE Kahale Warring catches on with New England]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Free-agent TE Kahale Warring (Texans) was claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots on Tuesday, Aug. 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Warring has athleticism for the tight end position but injuries and inconsistencies have held him back as a pro. The Patriots could use some depth at the position with guys like Hunter Henry (shoulder) banged up and Dalton Keene (knee) out for the year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family.
