[NE - TE Hunter Henry out a couple of weeks]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter New England Patriots TE Hunter Henry (shoulder) will miss a couple of weeks with a shoulder issue that isn't considered serious. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jonnu Smith is the lead tight end for the Patriots, and with Henry missing time we'll get to see more of second-year pro Devin Asiasi. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [BAL - Rashod Bateman injured](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman (undisclosed) limped off the field Tuesday, Aug. 10, after he was injured while cutting and did not return. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fantasy Twitter had a ton of emotional responses to this injury and the video of Bateman limping off in pain. Fantasy GMs are excited about the rookie in the passing game with an improved QB Lamar Jackson. We'll know more about the severity of this injury in the near future. With Bateman missing time and Marquise Brown already dealing with a hamstring injury, it opens the door for fifth-round rookie Tylan Wallace to get more work. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [DET - D'Andre Swift remains limited]( Source: MLive.com - Kyle Meinke Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions RB D'Andre Swift (groin) has missed 'significant' practice time while nursing a sore groin, according to MLive.com's Kyle Meinke. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Lions are taking it easy on Swift as he deals with this groin injury. Swift has suited up for practice almost every day, but he has rarely participated in seven-on-seven or 11-on-11 work. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [GB - RB Aaron Jones dealing with hamstring issue](=) Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Tom Silverstein Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) did not practice Monday, Aug. 9, due to a hamstring injury and instead worked with the rehab group. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hamstring injuries are known to linger if not given the proper amount of time to heal. We'll see the Packers take it easy on Jones as he deals with this injury. This opens the door for A.J. Dillon to do more. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [HOU - QB Deshaun Watson out for preseason opener]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (foot) will not travel to Green Bay for the preseason opener, according to general manager Nick Caserio. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Zero surprise here. Nobody really knows what the future holds for Watson, but the most likely scenario is that he'll never play for the Texans again. That means he'll have a phantom "ankle" injury that keeps him out of most practices and he'll miss every preseason game. The Eagles may be interested in trading for Watson, but his legal situations complicate things in a manner we've never really seen before. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [GB - QB Aaron Rodgers likely to sit out preseason]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is likely to sit out the entire preseason, according to head coach Matt LaFleur. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No surprise here. Rodgers is a seasoned pro, and he's set for one "Last Dance" in the 2021 season. Jordan Love needs time, and he'll get plenty of reps to show off his progress for the Packers this preseason. [IND - Indy QB duo to split reps]( Source: CNHI Sports Indiana - George Bremer Indianapolis Colts QBs Jacob Eason and Sam Ehlinger will split the first-team repetitions over the next week. Ehlinger took two sacks and finished just 5-for-11 in his time under center Tuesday, Aug. 10. Meanwhile, Eason went 9-for-10 during 11-on-11 drills to nine different receivers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] These are two different quarterbacks vying for the starting job. Eason is your classic pocket passer. Ehlinger is more of a 'gamer' with scrambling ability. We'll see who wins the job with Carson Wentz bound to miss the early part of the regular season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [MIN - Kellen Mond activated]( Source: Vikings.com Minnesota Vikings QB Kellen Mond was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, Aug. 10. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mond is an interesting developmental quarterback. Dynasty GMs should be adding him and monitoring his progress. Mond is athletic but has some issues to clean up as a passer. However, he's in a great system (Shanahan/Kubiak) for his athletic profile and could develop into a Jake Plummer/Colin Kaepernick level of quarterback for the Vikings. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [MIA - TE Mike Gesicki activated](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Miami Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, Aug. 10. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gesicki is back in action and ready to be the no.1 tight end for the team again in 2021. Tua Tagovailoa loves targeting the position, and Gesicki is a trusted target. He's a solid TE2 for Fantasy GMs this season, going off the board currently at TE16 (13.02) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [DAL - WR Amari Cooper passes physical](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (ankle) passed his physical Tuesday, Aug. 10, and was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for the Cowboys and for Fantasy GMs here. Cooper was brought along carefully as he returns from offseason foot surgery. We're unlikely to see him in the preseason as the team gets Cooper ready for the start of the regular season. Cooper has a current ADP of WR16 (4.09) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [DEN - QB Drew Lock to start preseason opener](=) Source: The Denver Post - Ryan O'Halloran Denver Broncos QB Drew Lock will start the preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings. QB Teddy Bridgewater will start the second game against the Seattle Seahawks. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Broncos are going to take both preseason games before deciding who the starter is. According to head coach Vic Fangio, there has been no separation between the two. That's not the case, but that's how Fangio is trying to spin this. Most days things are close between the two, with each one having one terrible practice. However, Bridgewater is the one that makes quicker decisions and generally better reads. Lock is the one who attacks deep more often. We think no matter who wins the job both will play in 2021. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family.
