Camps are getting real and we're here for it. We've got a ton of new content for you with too much to list here. Dive in and let us help you win more at fantasy football. Before we jump in, I want to leave you with some awesomeness from Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. This is from a [nice feature by ESPN's Dan Graziano](). From the article: "I think the biggest challenge is to reset every year, stay hungry and never take anything for granted," (head coach Sean) McDermott said. "This league is year-to-year. You always see teams that are up one year and down the next. We have to make sure that's not us." "An example of how the coaches are delivering that message: Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, in a meeting early in camp, asked every offensive player and coach to stand up. "If you're a coach and you've ever been fired, sit down," Daboll said, and every coach in the room sat down. "OK," Daboll continued. "If you're a player and you've ever been cut or traded, sit down." A large group of players sat down. "If you weren't picked in the first round, sit down," Daboll said, and suddenly the only person in the room still standing was Allen. (The only other first-rounder on Buffalo's offense is backup quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, who sat down with the cut-or-traded group, even though he technically wasn't cut nor traded by the Bears, just not re-signed.) "Josh," Daboll said. "How many scholarship offers did you get out of high school?" "None," Allen replied. "All right," Daboll said. "Let's all remember where we came from." That's gold. I could write a bunch more but it would just dilute the goodness there. Keep grinding. Let's go. [] 1. [WAS - No timetable for WR Curtis Samuel]() Source: ESPN.com - John Keim Washington Football Team WR Curtis Samuel (groin) has not practiced since the start of training camp and there is no timetable for his return, according to head coach Ron Rivera. Rivera said he would like to see Samuel play in the final preseason game, but the team will not rush him back. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Samuel's injury first popped up in June, so this is very worrisome. He already knows Scott Turner's offense from their time together in Carolina, but you have to wonder if Samuel will be 100% this year after such a long absence. Cam Sims, Kelvin Harmon, and third-round pick Dyami Brown will battle to get any snaps and targets that end up vacated if Samuel misses time. For now, don't consider Samuel unless he falls multiple rounds past ADP. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NYJ - Zach Wilson struggles Saturday]( Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini New York Jets QB Zach Wilson went 11-for-24 for 112 yards and two interceptions during team drills Saturday, Aug. 7. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wilson is going to have to endure a lot of bumps in the road this year, but he should also be passing a lot and playing from behind. He's only of interest in superflex/2QB leagues, but he could have more value than his low ADP indicates. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [JAX - DJ Chark expected for Week 1 despite surgery]( Source: The Associated Press - Mark Long Jacksonville Jaguars WR DJ Chark Jr. (finger) recently underwent surgery to repair a broken finger but is expected to be ready for Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is no reason to bump him down on your draft board, although it doesn't help that he's missing time to impress Urban Meyer and build chemistry with Trevor Lawrence. Chark has a chance to be the best big play receiver in a revitalized pass offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [MIA - WR Albert Wilson sidelined]( Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson and Armando Salguero Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson (undisclosed) was present for practice Sunday, Aug. 8, but did not participate in drills. He was wearing a compression sleeve on his right leg during practice. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wilson had a good start to camp and appeared to be on his way to carving out a sizeable role in the passing game. Hopefully he'll get back on the field soon as he gets into football form after opting out last year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [DAL - No extension for WR Michael Gallup now](=) Source: The Dallas Morning News - Michael Gehlken Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup will not receive a contract extension before the start of the regular season and likely will need to wait until after the season to resume talks, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gallup is a candidate to sign elsewhere for more money than the Cowboys will be willing to give him. Cedrick Wilson has a chance to be upgraded to the #3 receiver in a potent pass offense in 2022. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [MIA - CB Xavien Howard has contract restructured]() Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo The Miami Dolphins and CB Xavien Howard agreed to terms on a restructured contract Sunday, Aug. 8, according to the NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. He had $1 million in Pro Bowl incentives and $3.5 million in additional incentives added to his 2021 year, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Howard also had all minicamp fines rescinded, meaning he could make upwards of $16,285,294 this season, which would make him the NFL's highest-paid cornerback this year. For the 2022 season, Howard will receive $500,000 in per-game roster bonuses and $100,000 in workout bonuses converted to base salary and guaranteed money. His $12.975 million salary for 2022 is guaranteed for injury and becomes fully guaranteed by the first day of the league year, with $6.775 million of Howard's 2022 salary fully guaranteed at signing. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Play-based incentives is one of the best ways to patch over a problem when a players wants to be paid more than a recent extension gave them. The Dolphins still have the best outside corner duo in the league. [] 7. [IND - OLB Darius Leonard agrees to contract extension](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter The Indianapolis Colts agreed to terms with LB Darius Leonard on a five-year contract extension worth $98.5 million Sunday, Aug. 8, according to multiple sources. The deal will make him the highest-paid inside linebacker in NFL history. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Leonard has been a massive hit of a second round pick, making plays in every aspect of the defensive game. Along with Bobby Okereke, he gives the team the best linebacker duo this side of Tampa Bay. The team is so confident in him long term that they extended him while he is still recovering from offseason ankle surgery. Leonard remains a good candidate to be the first IDP off of the board in fantasy leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [CLE - Hamstring injury for Grant Delpit](=) Source: The Chronicle-Telegram - Scott Petrak Cleveland Browns S Grant Delpit (hamstring) has been sidelined for a few days because of a hamstring injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Delpit is coming back from an achilles tear last year, so this is less than ideal. The team also has marquee free agent signing John Johnson and Jaguars reclamation project Ronnie Harrison to form a great safety group, but Harrison has also been battling a hamstring injury. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [GB - CB Kevin King still a starting option](=) Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky Green Bay Packers CB Kevin King (groin) is still a candidate for one of the starting cornerback jobs even though he is dealing with a groin injury, according to defensive backs coach Jerry Gray. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] First round pick Eric Stokes was drafted as the long term solution at King's boundary corner spot, but the team isn't going to turn to Stokes simply because King has been hurt. Either way, it's going to be a spot that opposing quarterbacks target, starting with whoever starts for the Saints in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [IND - OLB Darius Leonard hopes to practice soon]( Source: The Athletic - Zak Keefer Indianapolis Colts LB Darius Leonard (ankle) said he hopes to participate in practice at some next week. He has been working on the side during training camp because he is coming off offseason ankle surgery. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Leonard should be fine for the season opener against the Seahawks, but we'll be watching to make sure he hits his goal as reassurance that he's on track to play Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [CIN - DE Trey Hendrickson dealing with minor injury](=) Source: Pro Football Focus - Doug Kyed Cincinnati Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson (groin) has missed the last two practices because of a groin injury, but the injury is not considered serious, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hendrickson is a key free agent signing for the Bengals, getting a four-year, $60 million deal to replace Carl Lawson, who signed a similarly signed deal with the Jets. The Bengals will be cautious with him to make sure he's ready for the season opener against the Vikings.
