Still, this is a reminder that he might not be 100% to start the season and we can't know if he will regain top form right away. [BUF - QB Josh Allen lands 6-year extension]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen and the team on Friday, Aug. 6, agreed on a six-year contract extension worth $258 million, including $150 million guaranteed, per source. Every team that signs their franchise quarterback long term before league revenues and the cap pick back up will be happy a few years from now. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We believe that it is nothing major, but it is a reminder that Jones spends a lot of time on the injury report. Last year was the first year that it greatly affected his fantasy value. His ADP down two rounds or so from previous levels, so the fear that injuries are going to sap his fantasy value going forward is baked into his price. [PIT - Quiet debut for Najee Harris](=) Source: ESPN.com Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris rushed seven times for 22 yards and caught one pass for three yards in a 16-3 win over the Dallas Cowboys in the Hall of Fame Game Thursday. Aug. 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Harris wasn't playing with the complete first team offense, so we can excuse some of the inefficiency, but his value will be based more on touchdown opportunity and receptions than a high yards per carry. He will get a ton of volume to help make up for that, so don't let this result discourage you from considering him at ADP. [KC - Busy year for Clyde Edwards-Helaire?]( Source: NFL.com - Gil Brandt Kansas City Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire averaged 21.3 touches per game in 2020 before free-agent RB Le'Veon Bell joined the roster in Week 7 and 12.7 touches per game after Bell's arrival. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Chiefs want Edwards-Helaire to show why they took him in the first round last year and they will give him every opportunity to do that. Jerick McKinnon and Darrel Williams will get some touches in relief of Edwards-Helaire, but they aren't likely to impact Edwards-Helaire's workout as much as Bell did. It's not great for him to be missing practice time with his new receivers, but with his imminent return, it shouldn't be a major issue. [LAR - QB Matthew Stafford won't play in preseason]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Michael David Smith Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford (thumb) won't play in a preseason game Rams head coach Sean McVay said Friday, Aug. 6, as long as both are together on the Rams. 'There is zero chance you'll ever see Matthew Stafford take a snap in the preseason for the Rams as long as I'm the coach. That will never happen,' McVay said. 'So he is not going to play. That's why it's important for us to try to get competitive opportunities against some of these other teams in practice settings. Practicing against the Cowboys this Saturday. We'll get the Raiders twice. So we're always looking for those things. But until you tell me that if a guy gets hurt in the preseason that we'll get those games back or they'll add them on the schedule afterwards as, 'Oh, yeah, you get two games because you lost those guys in the preseason,' it's hard for me to make sense of it.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is typical for veteran quarterbacks, although curious considering that Stafford hasn't played a live snap with these teammates before. McVay is wise to be cautious, but the Bears are up in Week 1, and Buccaneers in Week 3, and those are tough opponents to be facing when you are still getting on the same page. Stafford is still a good upside pick outside of the top 10 quarterbacks in most drafts, but this philosophy could cause a few bumps in the road for the transition. The Ravens said Smith likely will miss a couple weeks but still needs to undergo a MRI, per a source. Smith has an undisclosed injury that has sidelined him since Tuesday. Callaway riffed with Drew Brees right away last year, but an ankle injury slowed his development.
