[LAR - Cam Akers out for season]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Los Angeles Rams RB Cam Akers (Achilles') suffered a torn Achilles' while training Monday, July 19, and he'll miss the entire 2021 season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Darrell Henderson becomes the starter, and 2020 UDFA Xavier Jones the backup. Raymond Calais, a 2020 seventh-round pick of the Bucs, and Jake Funk, the Rams 2021 seventh-round pick, both have a better chance of making the roster now, but the team will certainly look into signing a veteran eventually with so little experience on the roster. The team could also become more pass heavy without Akers. Akers will test the proposition of whether a running back can come all the way back from an achilles tear. [NYJ - Greg Knapp seriously injured]() Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis New York Jets passing-game coordinator Greg Knapp was hospitalized and is in critical condition after a bicycle accident. According to multiple accounts, Knapp was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a motorist. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There will be a time to discuss how this will affect the development of #2 overall pick Zach Wilson, but this is not it. [GB - QB Aaron Rodgers was offered extension]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was offered a two-year extension earlier in the offseason that would have tied him to the Packers five more years and made him the highest-paid player in football. Rodgers declined the offer. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's hard to know what will fix this situation from Rodgers perspective, but it doesn't appear money is the answer. It was rumored that he wanted general manager Brian Gutekunst removed, which is not likely a move the Packers are willing to make. The next big moment in this saga is July 27, when veteran players are supposed to report to Packers camp. If Rodgers doesn't report, the already depressed values of Aaron Jones, Robert Tonyan, and Davante Adams, will slide more. OT Jarron Jones and LB Calvin Bundage were released. He was a third-round pick of the Cowboys in 2015, and has made spot starts for them, the Raiders, and the Colts (against the Steelers in Week 16 last year). There's a path for Hunter Henry to greatly exceed ADP if Smith's injury issues surface during the season. The Patriots have a plan for Smith in the passing game, but he has to stay healthy in camp for them to install it. Webster was the team's primary kick and punt returner last year. Raymond Calais can return kicks and Cooper Kupp can return punts, but the team could open the competition to include other players, especially for punt returner so they don't risk Kupp's health too often. He is an under the radar impact player who can make players in key situations.
