[] 1. [WAS - QB Fitzpatrick Says Offense Will Be 'Tough To Defend']( Source: JP Finlay - NBC Sports Washington JP Finlay, from NBC Sports Washington, reports how Washington QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is looking forward to spreading the ball around the field in 2021. "The biggest thing with his offense, is we're able to spread the ball around to everybody and get everybody involved. It's going to be a tough offense to defend just because of all the pieces we have." Fitzpatrick said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Washington has a ton of weapons in the passing attack, and Fitzpatrick is ready to attack a defense at all levels of the field. He's the perfect type of quarterback to take advantage of the spread formation and the collection of receivers. Add in RB Antonio Gibson, a talented pass-catcher and reliable runner, and you can see how Washington can put up points. Fantasy GMs want a piece of this offense with guys like Gibson and WR Terry McLaurin as two top targets at their respective positions. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [BUF - WR Beasley on the Bubble?](=) Source: Jay Skurski - Buffalo News Jay Skurski, from the Buffalo News, speculates that Buffalo Bills WR Cole Beasley could be on the roster bubble in training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We don't think this happens, but that is the speculation by some reporters around the team. Beasley has a $7.6 million cap hit this year with $1.5 million remaining in dead money. If the team did move on to clear up salary cap space (with a new contract for QB Josh Allen looming) then perhaps Emmanuel Sanders could play the slot. That would leave Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis on the outside. Again, we think Beasley stays with the team but keep an eye on this situation just in case. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [BAL - QB Jackson Taking Unnecessary Risk](=) Source: Mike Florio - Pro Football Talk Mike Florio, from Pro Football Talk, reports Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson seems to be taking unnecessary risks as video has emerged of him playing defensive back and receiver on an asphalt basketball court. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jackson is having some fun out there on the basketball court, but on the verge of a contract that will make him one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league perhaps he should reconsider. He wasn't hurt, but the possibility is there on asphalt. Sure, it could happen anywhere but why take the risk? The Ravens are going to take care of Jackson, and the sooner the better for both sides. We'll see if they get him a new contract before the start of training camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [PHI - Rookie WR Smith Impressing Teammates]( Source: NFL Network In a recent interview on NFL Network, Philadelphia Eagles OT Lane Johnson talked about how impressed he was with rookie WR DeVonta Smith. "We call him the 'Slim Reaper,'" Johnson said during a Monday interview on NFL Network. "He's impressed early on in camp, his change of direction, his ball skills. He doesn't say a whole lot, but he does show a whole lot of what he's capable of. I think when you have a guy that high caliber, I think he does nothing but bring everybody else along in the receiving corps. So we're excited about him. I think he's going to do tremendous things this year. And yeah, the Slim Reaper -- watch out for him." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith's game is all about speed, speed and more speed. The Heisman Trophy winner can be a dangerous asset for the Eagles offense. Not only does Smith have speed to take the top off the defense, he's got an incredible nose for the end zone with 37 touchdown grabs over the last two seasons at Alabama. Fantasy GMs are looking at him as a WR3/flex play in 2021, and Smith has a current ADP of WR31 (7.06) in 12-team PPR leagues. [] 5. [DAL - QB Prescott to Have 'Huge, Huge Year'](=) Source: USA Today Former NFL QB Alex Smith said in a recent interview that he thinks Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is going to perform at a high level in 2021. "Dak is, I think, one of the most unique athletes in the NFL - and I really think that from like a freakish perspective," Smith told USA Today. "He is such a strong, powerful, such a good athlete. So I really expect him to come back and be rolling. Then you add that on to his fortitude and mental perspective? I think he's going to have a huge, huge year." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Prescott was on fire last year before getting hurt. Now, he returns for a healthy season with fantastic weapons around him. He's an easy QB1 for Fantasy GMs, and there's a chance he's the no.1 fantasy quarterback in 2021. His current ADP is QB4 (5.03) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [GB - QB Rodgers Timeline Only Prolongs Story](=) Source: Mike Florio - Pro Football Talk Mike Florio, from Pro Football Talk, writes about how Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers timeline to make a decision on his playing future only prolongs the story. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Last week at yet another golf tournament, Rodgers was asked about his future...again. This time we did get a bit more information from the superstar quarterback. Rodgers said he plans to resume working out soon and will take a few weeks to decide on his future. When the Packers begin training camp at the end of July, Rodgers may not be there. That might not be enough to force their hand and get them to trade him away. This ugly situation is far from over, so stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [NO - QBs Winston/Hill Will 'Rise to the Challenge' per Payton]( Source: NFL Network In a recent interview on NFL Network's "Total Access" Saints head coach Sean Payton addressed the quarterback competition between Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill. "Obviously, there's a high bar for our team. ... And I think both of those guys will rise to the challenge. They both understand the importance of the reps that we're going to have in this upcoming training camp. And there is a little bit of a standard and it's kind of high, and so that's OK." Payton said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This quarterback situation is one to watch in training camp. Winston has to be the frontrunner because of his starting experience. Hill has started a handful of games, but he's not the developed passer that Winston is. Now, Winston needs to take care of the football better but we're expecting Payton to scheme something for that. If Winston wins the job, he could have a short leash if Hill impresses in camp. With Hill in the lineup as the starter, the offense would have a different look.
