[SF - QB Jimmy Garoppolo lacking big plays](#8) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [BUF - QB Josh Allen could see $100 million guaranteed]( Source: CBSSports.com - Joel Corry Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen could become the first player to eclipse $100 million fully guaranteed in his next contract, in the opinion of former agent Joel Corry. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Allen, Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson - all from that top-tier QB class in 2018 - are awaiting new long-term contracts. We'll see which one gets their deal first and which one gets the largest contract. Allen is likely to be one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league when his new deal is done. The jump to MVP levels last year was amazing and the team is looking to make a Super Bowl run this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [BUF - RB Moss Set to Take Over Backfield?]( Source: Joe Buscaglia - The Athletic Joe Buscaglia, from The Athletic, reports Buffalo Bills RB Zack Moss could "take over the backfield in 2021 if he continues to improve." He speculates Moss could get as many as 70 percent of the team's snaps in 2021. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Moss has to get healthy as an ankle injury has kept him from participating fully this offseason. He should be ready for training camp and the start of the regular season. If he does beat out Devin Singletary for that primary role, Moss could perform like a RB2 with upside. His current ADP of RB41 is due to the expected RBBC between Moss and Singletary. If one emerges in camp, expect that to change. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [LAC - Justin Herbert the focal point](=) Source: Chargers.com - Hayley Elwood Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert is going to have the offense 'run through' him this season, according to head coach Brandon Staley. 'I wanted him to make it work and I think that's what's been fun to sort of get started,' Staley said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Chargers are not a run-first type of team. Instead, they've got an offense that be a "fast break" unit to put up a bunch of points. That means they'll flow through Herbert and he'll spray targets all over the field to talented players like WR Keenan Allen and RB Austin Ekeler. Herbert is a QB1 for Fantasy GMs this season with a current ADP of QB6 (6.02) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [DET - RB Jamaal Williams the No. 2 back?]() Source: ESPN.com - Eric Woodyard Detroit Lions RB Jamaal Williams is 'expected to be the No. 2 running back' and complement RB D'Andre Swift in 2021, according to Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams is an "A back" according to Lions running back coach Anthony Lynn. He's the type of back who can do everything and do it well. Nothing about his game jumps off the page, but Williams is a consistent performer with intelligence, instincts and determination. He won't have much fantasy value unless Swift misses time but has significant fantasy upside in that scenario. If you've got the roster space, handcuff Williams to Swift as an injury upside pick. [Sign Up Now]() --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [BUF - TE Hollister a Potential Starter]( Source: Joe Buscaglia - The Athletic Joe Buscaglia, from The Athletic, reports Buffalo Bills TE Jacob Hollister could become the team's starter if Dawson Knox's struggles continue in 2021. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hollister has flashed a bit of talent during his time with the Patriots and the Seahawks in his career. A college teammate of QB Josh Allen at Wyoming, Hollister has instant chemistry with his quarterback and can create mismatches on the field against linebackers tasked with covering him. Knox has talent, but he's yet to play up to his potential. If he falters, then perhaps Hollister could take over. Watch this situation in training camp as all Fantasy GMs should be collecting pieces of the high-powered Bills offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [LAC - WR Williams to Play 'X' Receiver](=) Source: Daniel Popper - The Athletic Daniel Popper, from The Athletic, reports Chargers WR [Mike Williams](=) is expected to play the "X" receiver spot in new OC Joe Lombardi's offense. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Another day, and another article pointing out how Williams will play the "X" position in Lombardi's offense - which is the Michael Thomas role. Yes, everyone should be paying attention to this consistent drumbeat. Williams has talent but he's never truly played up to his potential in the pros. In this role, if healthy, Williams could prove to be a tremendous value for Fantasy GMs. His current ADP is WR53 (12.04) in 12-team PPR leagues which has risen slightly since this Lombardi report came out a few weeks ago. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [IND - Mike Strachan catches eye of coach]() Source: 1075 The Fan - Kevin Bowen Indianapolis Colts WR Mike Strachan has impressed head coach Frank Reich during spring practices. 'Strachan, the size and speed and he's got good short area quickness, he just has great competitive disposition as an athlete,' Reich said. 'He's really smart. So just really happy about the immediate impression he's made.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Strachan was a seventh-round pick out of Charleston in the 2021 NFL draft. He was a track star in college and he brings that skill set to the pro game. At 6-feet, 5-inches, 226 pounds Strachan has a great size/speed combination. He's got a nose for the end zone and can win "above the rim" near pay dirt. He's buried on the Colts depth chart right now but we love this kind of prospect in deep dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [SF - QB Jimmy Garoppolo lacking big plays]() Source: Pro Football Focus San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo ranks last among 32 qualified quarterbacks with a Big Time Throw percentage of 2.6 percent over the last two seasons, according to Pro Football Focus data. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is an interesting data point for Garoppolo that shows a flaw in his game. Especially in the Shanahan system, making big throws down the field is part of the plan. The team uses play-action passes, rolling out and high-low reads to set things up for the quarterback. We'll see in training camp and the preseason if Garoppolo can hold off 2021 no.3 overall pick Trey Lance for the starting job in 2020. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family and I hope you have an awesome weekend. Seriously, be careful out there. Peace and Grace to you.
