[JAX - Travis Etienne expected to provide boost](#4) 5. [DEN - QB Teddy Bridgewater, QB Drew Lock to work out](#5) 6. [JAX - QB Gardner Minshew performing well during offseason](#6) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [NE - QB Cam Newton most improved?]( Source: NFL.com - Gil Brandt New England Patriots QB Cam Newton tops NFL analyst Gil Brandt's recently released list of nine players who he believes are 'guaranteed to play better' in 2021. Brandt cites Newton's full 2021 offseason with the team, his 2020 bout with COVID-19 and the Patriots' skill-position upgrades as reasons he's expecting a much better season out of Newton. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see if Newton plays better in the preseason and how much rookie first-round pick Mac Jones is going to push him for the starting job. Newton should be the starter for the Patriots so long as the team is in contention. Keep that in mind if selecting the veteran passer in your fantasy drafts. If things fall apart for New England, they will want to take a look at Jones as their starter. If they're pushing for the postseason then Newton is likely the guy. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [ARI - QB Kyler Murray eliciting confidence]( Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray has general manager Steve Keim eager for 2021 as the quarterback enters his third season. 'Because it's arguably the most important position on the field, you always put some time and effort into that position,' Keim said in article Friday, June 25, on the team's website. '(But) I would say my confidence at the position and in general is at a real high. ... with a guy like Kyler Murray, the thing that is so exciting for me is having the opportunity to build around a young player, a guy you can grow with as an organization and as a roster. And there are different things you can do, especially with a rookie contract, as opposed to a veteran who is making a considerable part of your salary cap.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cardinals have an improved offensive line, and they've improved the talent around Murray on offense. He was the no.2 fantasy quarterback last year, and there is no doubt he could be the best fantasy quarterback in 2021. Murray is developing as a passer, but it's his rushing ability that really boosts his stock. His size was a concern coming out of college, but Murray has not missed any time. He's going off the board at QB3 (4.10) in 12-team PPR leagues at this time. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CHI - WR Marquise Goodwin won't miss any time]( Source: NFL.com Chicago Bears WR Marquise Goodwin will not miss any of the club's offseason programs, after failing to qualify for the long jump event at the U.S. Olympic Trials Friday, June 25, in Eugene, Oregon. He finished in 19th place out of 24 participants. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Goodwin has Olympic speed and can fly down the field. The veteran is a field-stretcher is competing to make the Bears 53-man roster, likely the no.4 spot on the depth chart behind Allen Robinson, Darnell Mooney and Anthony Miller. [JAX - Travis Etienne expected to provide boost]( Source: ESPN.com - Michael DiRocco Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne will be used in multiple roles in order to create big plays for a Jacksonville offense that ranked last in the NFL with 16 plays of 20 yards or more in 2020. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Etienne's role in the Jaguars offense is one of the big mysteries of the offseason. They'll use him in multiple ways, because he's versatile and can do damage as a runner, receiver out of the backfield or from the slot. How much does he take from the plate of James Robinson? Does he start over Robinson? Is Etienne a gadget player or can he be the centerpiece of the Jaguars offense? We'll have more clarity about this in training camp and the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [DEN - QB Teddy Bridgewater, QB Drew Lock to work out]() Source: Broncos Wire - Jon Heath Denver Broncos QBs Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock plan to get together for some throwing sessions in South Florida in the weeks leading up to training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The competition in Denver is 50-50 according to head coach Vic Fangio. During OTAs and mandatory minicamp, Bridgewater was steady while Lock's performance was up and down. We imagine that continues in training camp, and it will be the preseason games that determine who is going to start for the Broncos in 2021. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [JAX - QB Gardner Minshew performing well during offseason](=) Source: SI.com - John Shipley Jacksonville Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew has outperformed QB C.J. Beathard this offseason by a considerable margin, according to SI.com's John Shipley. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Minshew should be better than Beathard...by a wide margin. We'll see Minshew likely be the primary backup to no.1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence in 2021. Dynasty GMs are waiting for Minshew to get traded in order to compete for a starting job again in the NFL.
