[ATL - WR Julio Jones requested trade](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones requested a trade a few months ago, according to sources, and that's when the team began listening to offers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's starting to seem unlikely we'll see Jones in a Falcons uniform this year. The speculation is that a second-round pick would be needed to secure the services of the superstar veteran receiver. Teams like the Ravens, Raiders, Chargers and Patriots could be interested. Earlier reports also indicated Jones may want to play with Cam Newton. Great news for the Patriots as Newton is their starter...for now. This Jones thing is far from over, so as always stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [TB - RBs expected to share load again in 2021]( Source: PewterReport.com - Jon Ledyard Tampa Bay Buccaneers RBs Ronald Jones and Leonard Fournette will likely split time again in 2021, according to recent comments made by head coach Bruce Arians.'They're both (going to) play. They're so talented and they both bring so much to the table. Hopefully, if they're both healthy, they are splitting time. I know fantasy doesn't like that, but those two guys ... I mean, RoJo is one of the best runners I've been around. Lenny had that great run in the playoffs. He showed what they drafted him for in the top five,' Arians said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That's the plan that worked last year and the Buccaneers kept the band together so they could do it again in 2021. From a fantasy perspective, Jones was the guy for the team during the regular season but Fournette was a "closer" when the team went on their Super Bowl run. Jones is a RB2 option and Fournette is more of a RB3/deep flex play if the regular season splits match last year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [GB - QB Aaron Rodgers skipping workouts](=) Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers did not report for the start of offseason workouts Monday, May 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No surprise here. Rodgers is disgruntled and there's plenty of buzz about him being traded after June 1st. The Packers are trying to patch things up, and that could include getting him a new contract in the near future. Rumors about them making offers have been out there for some time but nothing is concrete just yet. If nothing can be done and he must be traded, look for the Broncos to show the most interest. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [HOU - QB Deshaun Watson not at workouts]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson is not attending the offseason workouts and is still seeking a trade, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Watson isn't going to show up to anything until his off-field stuff is taken care of. ESPN's Sarah Barshop reports a member of Tony Buzbee's legal team has approached Watson to discuss "working things out." We'll see if a settlement is the way things go with training camp and the regular season fast approaching. When the legal issue is resolved, Watson is still likely to be suspended by the NFL under their personal conduct policy. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CIN - Chris Evans shining as receiver](=) Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson Cincinnati Bengals RB Chris Evans impressed the coaching staff with his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. 'Chris's trait that is different than a lot of other running backs in the league is his ability to catch the ball and he's a very natural route runner out of the backfield,' head coach Zac Taylor said. 'He can split out.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Evans could have some Rex Burkhead to his game. Like Burkhead, Evans is a strong back who can be used effectively as a receiver out of the backfield. The Bengals say they're going to use Joe Mixon as much as possible this year, but in order to keep him fresh they should work on mixing other backs in. Samaje Perine could handle more work as a runner but perhaps Evans could get some snaps here and there in passing situations. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [MIA - Jaylen Waddle could be returner]() Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley Miami Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle will have the opportunity to compete for the kick and punt returner job during training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Waddle could do that but the team should just focus on him making a play as a receiver. He's a dynamic athlete who can make defenders look silly and be a playmaker for them on offense. Waddle could be a dangerous return man, but perhaps they should only use him sparingly on special teams to keep him fresh. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [MIA - Tua Tagovailoa expected to improve]() Source: Miami Herald - Adam Beasley Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa should play better this upcoming season because he has playing experience in the NFL now and will have a better supporting cast, according to co-offensive coordinator George Godsey. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Tagovailoa struggled as a rookie and there were times when the team would insert Ryan Fitzpatrick to give them a better chance to win. This year, Tagovailoa has to take that next step. The team has put better weapons around him and we'll see if he can improve his play as a passer. [SEA - D'Wayne Eskridge living up to hype](=) Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle Seattle Seahawks WR D'Wayne Eskridge 'looked just like we had hoped,' head coach Pete Carroll said following rookie minicamp. 'He looks very quick, very strong,' Carroll said. 'Had a really easy time with the types of routes that we were running.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Eskridge can fly down the field and take the top off the defense. His quickness allows him to get open in a hurry, and Eskridge is dangerous after the catch. The rookie is not a nuanced as a route runner and will need to sharpen those skills to play up to his potential in the pros. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [ATL - QB Matt Ryan steady]() Source: SI.com - Albert Breer Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan has completed at least 65 percent of his passes with a 90-plus QB rating, 4,400-plus yards and 26-plus touchdown passes in each of the last three years. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ryan is steady, that's the name of his game. While he may not quite be the player he used to be (MVP level), Ryan is still one of the better starters in the league and has plenty of football left. If (when?) Julio Jones is traded away, we'll see how Ryan's game and numbers shift in 2021. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [HOU - QB Ryan Finley let go](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero Houston Texans QB Ryan Finley was released Monday, May 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Texans signed Jeff Driskel last week, further cramping their quarterback room. Finley is young and has potential but will now be on his third team in three seasons. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [GB - GB to work out Donald Hammond]() Source: SportsTalk 790 - Aaron Wilson Undrafted free-agent QB Donald Hammond III (Air Force) is scheduled to work out for the Green Bay Packers Tuesday, May 25, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hammond is a rusher who can rip the ball down the field. In 2019, Hammond threw for 13 touchdowns and ran for 13 touchdowns in the triple option offense of Air Force. The Packers have an uncertain quarterback situation due to Aaron Rodgers, and they've already brought in Blake Bortles and Kurt Benkert to compete for a spot on the depth chart (along with second-year pro Jordan Love). We'll see if Hammond can impress in his tryout on Tuesday to earn a job. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [DAL - WR Johnnie Dixon joins Dallas](=) Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper Free-agent WR Johnnie Dixon (Cardinals) signed with the Dallas Cowboys Monday, May 24. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Dixon was a UDFA out of Ohio State in 2019 and has spent time with the Texans and the Cardinals. He showed speed, special teams ability as a return man and a nose for the end zone in college. The Cowboys are stacked with talent at the wide receiver position, so Dixon is a long shot to make the 53-man roster. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [MIA - WR Preston Williams making good progress]( Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson Miami Dolphins WR Preston Williams (foot) has been working with the team's trainers and is making good progress in his recovery from a foot injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams has a ton of talent but injuries have kept him from playing up to his potential as a pro. Last year, Williams was placed on injured reserve in early November after being carted off the field in Week 9 against the Cardinals. We'll see what kind of progress he makes when it comes to training camp participation. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [MIN - QB Kirk Cousins picked apart single coverage in 2020]() Source: Pro Football Focus Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins ranked third in the league with 1,825 passing yards and fourth with 22 touchdown passes when targeting single coverage last season, according to Pro Football Focus. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cousins did that in large part due to the play-action passing and the quality weapons like Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson. With Klint Kubiak taking over the reins from his father Gary as the Offensive Coordinator, the system will stay the same and the production should follow suit.
