[BUF - QB Josh Allen's option picked up]() Source: BuffaloBills.com Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen's fifth-year option for 2022 was exercised Monday, May 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Allen has flourished in the NFL and is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He's mobile, has a rocket arm, and has become much more nuanced as a passer (thank you, Stefon Diggs). The Bills will be working on a new contract for Allen that makes him among the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [ATL - Kyle Pitts the total package]( Source: ESPN.com Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts led all tight ends in the 2021 draft class in average depth of target and yards per route run, and he didn't drop any of his 66 targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pitts is the total package as a receiver, because that's what he basically is. There is "TE" next to his name, but his game is that of a "WR" and he is going to be tough for defenses to contend with. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [ATL - WR Calvin Ridley's option exercised](=) Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley had his fifth-year option was exercised Monday, May 3. He is scheduled to make $11.116 million in 2022. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ridley had his breakout season in 2020 and finished as the no.4 fantasy receiver in standard scoring leagues. The Falcons will continue to use him as a featured part of their passing game. Fantasy GMs can lean on him as a WR1 and Ridley has a current ADP of WR6 (2.08) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [CIN - Ja'Marr Chase should be on the field]( Source: ESPN.com Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase became the seventh receiver picked in the top six of the NFL Draft since 2009, and the previous six have averaged a target share of at least 19 percent in their rookie season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Chase should be on the field because he's damn good and one of the most dangerous rookie receivers in this class. He can do it all, flying down the field and making plays in the red zone too. Fantasy GMs should consider the rookie a WR2 with upside in 2021. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [BUF - Buffalo adds Quintin Morris](=) Source: 247Sports - Bryan DeArdo Undrafted free-agent TE Quintin Morris (Bowling Green) agreed to terms with the Buffalo Bills. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Morris was a converted wide receiver who led the team in receiving over the last two seasons. He's got experience lining up all over the field and can even line up in the backfield as an H-back. Morris isn't overly fast or overly strong, but he's an effort blocker who has good receiving skill and a basketball background which helps him fight for the ball. He's still learning the nuances of the position and is a developmental prospect who is looking to make the practice squad as a future "F" tight end. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [IND - TE Mo Alie-Cox under contract](=) Source: Colts.com Indianapolis Colts restricted free-agent TE Mo Alie-Cox signed his one-year tender offer Monday, May 3. Financial terms were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Alie-Cox stays with the Colts as a restricted free agent and we'll see if his role grows this upcoming season. His 38 targets in 2020 were the most of his career and he could get a similar amount of passes thrown his way this season. With Jack Doyle ahead of him on the depth chart it seems like Alie-Cox is going to be in a TEBC once again. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [SEA - RB Rashaad Penny's option declined](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Seattle Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny's fifth-year option was declined Monday, May 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Penny was overdrafted in the first round a few years ago and he's done little to prove that he can be the lead back some thought he could be coming out of San Diego state. Injuries have been his biggest problem in the NFL. He's got one more year left to prove himself with Seattle, working once again behind Chris Carson. [ATL - TE Hayden Hurst's option not picked up](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Atlanta Falcons TE Hayden Hurst will not have his fifth-year option exercised, and he'll be a free agent after the 2021 season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No surprise here. With the Falcons selecting TE Kyle Pitts with the no.4 overall pick it's a sign that they'll likely move on from Hurst after this season. After struggling to impress with the Ravens, Hurst did flash that first-round talent in his first year with the Falcons last season. When he hits the open market in 2022 there should be more than a few teams interested in making him a no.1 tight end. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [IND - Tarik Black catches on with Indianapolis](=) Source: CBSSports.com Undrafted free-agent WR Tarik Black (Texas) agreed to terms with the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, May 2. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Black began his college career at Michigan and was slowed by foot injuries in his first two seasons with the Wolverines. He was a graduate transfer who went to Texas in 2020 and posted 10 catches for 240 yards and one touchdown. Black has a nice size/speed combination but with concentration problems and lack of production at two stops in college he is a long shot to do much in the NFL. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [ATL - Atlanta adds 18 UDFAs]() Source: AtlantaFalcons.com Undrafted free-agent OT Jack Batho IV (South Dakota School of Mines), DT Zac Dawe (Brigham Young), LB Dorian Etheridge (Louisville), OG Bryce Hargrove (Pittsburgh), RB Caleb Huntley (Ball State), LB Eli Howard (Texas Tech), S Dwayne Johnson (San Diego State), LB Kobe Jones (Mississippi State), CB Marcus Murphy (Mississippi State), OG Ryan Neuzil (Appalachian State), WR Antonio Nunn (Buffalo), S JR Pace (Northwestern), LB Alani Pututau (Adams State), TE John Raine (Northwestern), OG Joe Sculthorpe (North Carolina State), OT Keion Smith (Fayetteville State), LB Erroll Thompson (Mississippi State) and WR Austin Trammell (Rice) agreed to terms with the Atlanta Falcons Monday, May 3. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Huntley is an interesting running back to monitor. He's a strong runner with a low center of gravity and plenty of leg drive. Huntley wasn't proven as a receiver out of the backfield but he gives great effort anytime he touches the ball. The Falcons need running back help and Huntley could work his way onto the 53-man roster but as a priority free agent he's more likely to land on the practice squad. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [IND - RB Paul Perkins released](=) Source: Colts.com Indianapolis Colts RB Paul Perkins was released Monday, May 3. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Perkins was on the Colts practice squad in 2020 and didn't see any playing time. Some team in need of veteran experience will consider picking up the veteran three-down back. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [PIT - Pittsburgh adds Isaiah McKoy](=) Source: CBSSports.com Undrafted free-agent WR Isaiah McKoy (Kent State) agreed to terms with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, May 2. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] In four games, McKoy was 1st team All-Mac and led his team in receiving with 25 catches for 455 yards. McKoy has explosive capabilities as evidenced by 13 of his 16 career receiving touchdowns being 20 yards or more. However, drops (15 in three years) are an issue and his build up speed doesn't maintain when changing direction. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [PHI - Trevon Grimes lands in Philly](=) Source: 94WIP Radio - Howard Eskin Undrafted free-agent WR Trevon Grimes (Florida) agreed to terms with the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday, May 2. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Grimes started his college career at Ohio State but left after his first season and went to Florida. His numbers got better each season with the Gators and Grimes has the chip on his shoulder to prove doubters wrong. Grimes is a big target and has a nice size/speed combination. He's not a burner but can win at the catch point and has more subtlety as a route runner than some think. In crazy deep dynasty formats we'll keep an eye on him.
