May that be the case for me. Now let's get to a few News and Notes. [JAX - James Robinson won't play](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Jacksonville Jaguars RB [James Robinson](=) (ankle) won't play in the season finale in Week 17. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Robinson was a great waiver wire pickup for Fantasy GMs back in Week 2. He played a great season, finishing the year with 1070 rushing yards, seven rushing touchdowns, 49 catches for 344 yards and three receiving touchdowns. Robinson should get an upgrade in quarterback next year with no.1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) and he's looking at being an early first-round pick in most any league in 2021. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [JAX - QB Mike Glennon to start](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Jacksonville Jaguars QB [Mike Glennon](=) will start in Week 17 against the Indianapolis Colts. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No quarterback competition this week. Glennon finishes out the season as the starter and Gardner Minshew ends the season on the bench. The Jaguars will have a potential superstar in 2021 no.1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) next season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [MIN - RB Dalvin Cook out for Week 17]() Source: ESPN.com - Courtney Cronin Minnesota Vikings RB [Dalvin Cook](=) (personal) left the team due to a family emergency Tuesday, Dec. 29, and will be unavailable for Week 17. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Alexander Mattison will start in Cook's place if he's cleared from his concussion that kept him out of action in Week 16. Cook finishes the 2020 season with a whopping 1,557 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns. Plus, Cook had 44 catches for 361 yards and one receiving touchdown. He's a top-5 pick in any fantasy league next year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [LAR - WR Cooper Kupp out for Week 17](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Los Angeles Rams WR [Cooper Kupp](=) (illness) tested positive for COVID-19 Wednesday, Dec. 30, and was ruled out for Week 17. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Rams are already going to be without starting QB Jared Goff. We'll see Josh Reynolds get more work in Kupp's place. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CAR - RB Mike Davis expected to sit out finale]() Source: The Athletic - Joseph Person Carolina Panthers RB [Mike Davis](=) (ankle) is not expected to play in the Week 17 game because of a sprained ankle. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Rodney Smith and Trenton Cannon are going to lead the way in the backfield. We'd consider either one of them a deep flex play in Week 17. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [WAS - Antonio Gibson not on field]() Source: The Washington Post - Sam Fortier Washington Football Team RB [Antonio Gibson](=) (toe) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Washington is just likely giving Gibson a day of rest. He was able to play in Week 16 but was only on the field for 21 snaps. We'll see if he can do more this week in the season finale. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [CIN - Day off for WR A.J. Green](=) Source: Bengals.com Cincinnati Bengals WR [A.J. Green](=) (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Green is a seasoned veteran and gets Wednesdays off. We should see him play against the Ravens on Sunday in what could be his final game with the Bengals. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [NYJ - RB Ty Johnson fully practices]() Source: NewYorkJets.com New York Jets RB [Ty Johnson](=) (hip) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] LaMical Perine is out for the season finale and so is Frank Gore. That means Johnson is the primary back for the Jets and might be worth considering as a flex play in Week 17. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [WAS - No practice for WR Terry McLaurin]() Source: The Washington Post - Sam Fortier Washington Football Team WR [Terry McLaurin](=) (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McLaurin missed the Week 16 game for Washington and it's a bit disappointing that he couldn't get out there on Wednesday to practice. We'll see if he can get healthy enough for Sunday night's big game against the Eagles with the division title on the line. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [BUF - WR Cole Beasley misses practice](=) Source: BuffaloBills.com Buffalo Bills WR [Cole Beasley](=) (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Beasley is going to be shut down for the season finale with the hopes he can be ready for the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [CIN - Limited practice for Tee Higgins](=) Source: Bengals.com Cincinnati Bengals WR [Tee Higgins](=) (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 30. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Higgins had six catches for 99 yards and a touchdown last week. That was against the Texans, and this week he'd be facing the Ravens...a much different matchup. Watch his status as the week goes on and consider Higgins a WR3/flex play. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [NFL - QB Dwayne Haskins unlikely to sign now](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Free-agent QB [Dwayne Haskins](=) (Washington) is receiving interest from several teams but is not expected to sign with a team before the end of the 2020 season, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Haskins is going to wait just to see if more interest can be drummed up. The 2018 first-round pick fell out of favor with the new staff in Washington. On the field he struggled with consistency and off the field, well...let's just say that part didn't make the team happy either. Any team that adds Haskins will do so with the idea that he's a reclamation project. It's doubtful that some team does anything more than let him compete for a spot on the depth chart in 2021. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [BUF - Buffalo meeting with WR Kenny Stills]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Free-agent WR [Kenny Stills](=) (Texans) is scheduled to meet with the Buffalo Bills this week, and there is optimism that the two sides will reach an agreement if he can pass the COVID-19 protocols, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With Cole Beasley and John Brown a little banged up, the Bills are looking for help at the wide receiver position. Stills didn't do much this year for the Texans before his release but would be a good veteran fallback option for the playoffs if/when he signs with the Bills. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [DEN - KJ Hamler doesn't practice Wednesday](=) Source: Raiders.com Denver Broncos WR KJ Hamler (concussion) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hamler doesn't seem to be trending in the right direction. The rookie has flashed some ability this season but he's been banged up with various injuries along the way. We'll see if Hamler can continue to use his speed and quickness to make plays for the Broncos in 2021 and beyond. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [MIN - RB Alexander Mattison listed as limited](=) Source: Vikings.com Minnesota Vikings RB [Alexander Mattison](=) (concussion) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 30. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Dalvin Cook is out for Week 17 due to personal reasons, so that means Mattison would be the lead back if he's cleared to play. If you're still going for your fantasy championship in Week 17, then consider Mattison as a RB2 with upside if he does play against the Lions. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [TB - RB Ronald Jones dealing with finger issue]() Source: Buccaneers.com Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB [Ronald Jones](=) (finger) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones is back in action and off the COVID list, but he's still got to deal with the finger injury that required surgery. We'll see if the Buccaneers use Jones and ramp him up for the playoffs with a starter's role in Week 17. Watch his practice status on Friday if you're still playing for your season-long fantasy championship. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [LAC - WR Keenan Allen sits out Wednesday practice]( Source: Chargers.com Los Angeles Chargers WR [Keenan Allen](=) (hamstring) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Allen was shut down for the Week 16 game against the Broncos. This hamstring injury might keep him out of action for Week 17 against the Chiefs. We'll see if the veteran gets back out there on Friday at the latest. Fantasy GMs should be making other plans. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [DET - QB Matthew Stafford doesn't practice Wednesday]() Source: DetroitLions.com Detroit Lions QB [Matthew Stafford](=) (thumb, ribs, ankle) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's the middle of the week, so Stafford's status is up in the air. He might have played the final game of the season after battling through multiple injuries in 2020. In fact, Stafford may have played his final snaps as the quarterback of the Lions. There are massive rumblings that Stafford will be on the move this offseason. A fresh start might be the best thing for both parties involved...stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [DET - WR Kenny Golladay remains absent from practice]() Source: DetroitLions.com Detroit Lions WR [Kenny Golladay](=) (hip) was a non-participant at practice Wednesday, Dec. 30. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Golladay hasn't played since Week 8, and there's no need to get him out there for the season finale. Set to be a free agent in 2021, Golladay will have to see what the market does for him this offseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [ATL - RB Ito Smith puts in limited practice Wednesday]() Source: Buccaneers.com Atlanta Falcons RB [Ito Smith](=) (ribs) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith is working as the lead back for the Falcons with Todd Gurley and Brian Hill mixed in. He hasn't been doing much with more snaps in recent weeks, and up against the Buccaneers on Sunday Fantasy GMs have much better flex options in Week 17.
