Let's get to the News and Notes. J --------------------------------------------------------------- [] INSIDE THIS ISSUE 1. [BAL - WR Dez Bryant activated](#1) 2. [CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey activated from IR](#16) 17. [DAL - Garrett Gilbert expected to start Week 9](#17) 18. [TEN - OLB Jadeveon Clowney dealing with meniscus issue](#18) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [BAL - WR Dez Bryant activated]( Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates Baltimore Ravens WR [Dez Bryant](=) was elevated to the 53-man roster Saturday, Nov. 7. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's an interesting note but who knows how much fantasy value is really here. First, the Ravens are a run-heavy team who has not been keeping WR Marquise Brown happy. Second, Bryant is not the same player he used to be and may only see a small amount of snaps. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott looking iffy]() Source: Dallas Morning News - Michael Gehlken Dallas Cowboys RB [Ezekiel Elliott](=) (hamstring) is listed as questionable for the team's Week 9 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the team is preparing to be without him, elevating FB Sewo Olonilua from the practice squad Saturday, Nov. 7. Elliott's status likely will be determined in a pregame workout, but there there is 'some thought that it may be in his and team's best interest that he not play,' with the Cowboys' bye upcoming in Week 10, according to a team beat reporter. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Consider Elliott a game-time decision in Week 9. Things were looking different on Friday and there was some positivity about Elliott's status. Now, things could boil down to how he feels before the game against the tough Steelers defense. With Garrett Gilbert at quarterback, downgrade all Cowboys skill position players. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [LAC - WR Keenan Allen added to report]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Los Angeles Chargers WR [Keenan Allen](=) (illness) has been added to the injury report Saturday, Nov. 7, and is listed as questionable due to illness. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There is no word on whether or not this is a COVID-19 related illness. Keep an eye on his status before the game before setting-it-and-forgetting-it with Allen in your lineup. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [SEA - RB Alex Collins activated](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Seattle Seahawks RB Alex Collins was promoted from the practice squad Saturday, Nov. 7. DT Rasheem Green (neck) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Chris Carson (foot) and Carlos Hyde (hamstring) are both out in Week 9. DeeJay Dallas will be the lead back for Seattle and Collins will work in a reserve role if he sees the field on Sunday against the Bills. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [KC - WR Sammy Watkins out Week 9]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Kansas City Chiefs WR [Sammy Watkins](=) (hamstring) on Saturday, Nov. 7, was ruled out of Sunday's Week 9 game against the Carolina Panthers with a hamstring injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Watkins is getting closer to returning but not quite there yet. The team is obviously not rushing him back as he was limited in practice this week. We'll see if he can get out there in the near future. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [NE - N'Keal Harry still sidelined]() Source: Boston Herald - Karen Guregian New England Patriots WR N'Keal Harry (concussion) was not spotted at practice Saturday, Nov. 7, making him unlikely to play in the team's Week 9 game against the New York Jets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Harry is not doing much in the pros even when he's healthy. Fantasy GMs have long moved on from Harry and even players in dynasty formats are considering giving up on the former first-round pick. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [DET - QB Matthew Stafford activated](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Detroit Lions QB [Matthew Stafford](=) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Nov. 7. He must pass one more round of tests to be cleared to play Sunday, Nov. 8. He'll be a game-time decision. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see if Stafford is out there on Sunday against the Vikings. It's a great matchup for Stafford if he plays, even though he will be without WR Kenny Golladay (hip). [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [NYG - WR Golden Tate being left at home](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport and Kim Jones New York Giants WR [Golden Tate](=) will not make the trip with the team Saturday, Nov. 7, to Washington and consequently will miss Sunday's game against the Washington Football Team, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This situation comes about with Tate complaining about his lack of targets on social networking. Sterling Shepard will do more with Tate out of action. The decision was made due to 'overall issues with (Tate's) effort and performance.' Tate 'has a chance' to return to the team's lineup in Week 10. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [GB - RB Dexter Williams has sprained MCL](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers RB Dexter Williams (knee) will be sidelined for at least three weeks after an MRI exam revealed that he has a sprained medial collateral ligament, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] He is a candidate to be placed on the Reserve/Injured list. If Williams is placed on IR then he'll have to miss at least three weeks due to the injury. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [NYG - WR Golden Tate in last NYG season?]( Source: SNY - Ralph Vacchiano New York Giants WR [Golden Tate](=)'s time with the team is 'almost certainly nearing an end,' opined one team beat reporter Saturday, Nov. 7. The Giants attempted to trade Tate last week, but found no market, according to a source, and he very likely will be released following the season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No surprise here if that's the case. Things aren't going well for Tate as he's going to be a healthy scratch in Week 9 as a disciplinary action for complaining about his lack of targets on social networking. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [NYJ - QB Joe Flacco getting Week 9 start]( Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini New York Jets [Joe Flacco](=) will start Monday, Nov. 9, against the New England Patriots, said head coach Adam Gase, who added he's not concerned about Flacco's limited practice reps this week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sam Darnold has a shoulder problem that has been bothering him since he was first injured against the Broncos earlier this season. Flacco is a seasoned veteran and doesn't need a ton of reps in practice before a start. The Jets go up against the Patriots on Monday night in a game that should not have much interest from Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [NYJ - Sam Darnold expected to miss start]() Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini New York Jets QB [Sam Darnold](=) (shoulder) did not practice Saturday, Nov. 7, and is not expected to start Monday night in the Week 9 game against the New England Patriots. Darnold will be listed as doubtful for the contest. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Darnold was limited in practice on Friday, putting his status for Monday night's game against the Patriots in doubt. Without Darnold, the Jets will once again turn to Joe Flacco as their starter. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [NYJ - WR Jamison Crowder expected to play]( Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta New York Jets WR [Jamison Crowder](=) (groin) is expected to play in Week 9. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for the Jets as they get ready to face the Patriots on Monday night. Crowder has flex appeal for Fantasy GMs this week and should be a struggle target for QB Joe Flacco. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [NYJ - WR Breshad Perriman expected to play]( Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta New York Jets WR [Breshad Perriman](=) (concussion) is expected to play in Week 9. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Perriman and Jamison Crowder should be out there on Monday night against the Patriots. Add in rookie Denzel Mims and you can see a nice trio of targets for QB Joe Flacco in Week 9. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [NYG - WR Golden Tate could miss Week 9's game]() Source: New York Daily News - Pat Leonard New York Giants WR [Golden Tate](=) has worked out with the scout team at practice over the last two days and could be deactivated for Week 9's game versus the Washington Football Team. Tate originally got in trouble with the organization for screaming at the Giants' sideline during Week 8's game versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of unhappiness with his lack of involvement in the offense. He later posted a video on Instagram of him screaming into an ESPN end zone camera after scoring a touchdown during that game, where he once again voiced his displeasure with his lack of targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Keep an eye on this situation as the Giants deal with the disgruntled veteran receiver. Sterling Shepard could get more work if Tate is benched or a healthy scratch in Week 9. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey activated from IR](=) Source: Panthers.com - Myles Simmons Carolina Panthers RB [Christian McCaffrey](=) (ankle) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list to the 53-man roster Saturday, Nov. 7. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Panthers coach Matt Rhule said that McCaffrey is expected to play in Week 9's game against the Chiefs, although it is uncertain if he will see limited touches or offensive snaps. The team needs all hands on deck against the World Champion Chiefs. McCaffrey could get nearly a normal workload in Week 9 and is a must-start RB1 for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [DAL - Garrett Gilbert expected to start Week 9]() Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero Dallas Cowboys QB Garrett Gilbert is expected to start Week 9's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, since he has received the majority of reps in practice during the week, according to multiple sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cowboys don't have great choices with Andy Dalton out of action. Gilbert is the lead quarterback, beating out Cooper Rush for that distinction in Week 9. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [TEN - OLB Jadeveon Clowney dealing with meniscus issue]() Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo Tennessee Titans LB Jadeveon Clowney (knee) has been dealing with a meniscus issue in his knee and it is unknown if he will play in Week 9's game against the Chicago Bears or Week 10's contest versus the Indianapolis Colts, according to multiple sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] He was listed as questionable on the injury report despite not practicing at all during the week. All options are currently on the table for Clowney, including undergoing surgery. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
