[CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey looking good](=) Source: ESPN.com - David Newton Carolina Panthers RB [Christian McCaffrey](=) (ankle) moved 'really well' in practice and showed 'great burst' in individual drills Thursday, Nov. 5, leading ESPN's David Newton to state that it 'seems like a formality' he will be activated for Week 9 against Kansas City Chiefs. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McCaffrey was close to playing last week. He's an RB1 for Fantasy GMs upon his return and the Panthers will need all the firepower they can muster against the Chiefs on Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [WAS - TE Logan Thomas upgraded]( Source: WashingtonFootball.com Washington Football Team TE [Logan Thomas](=) (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fantasy GMs who lost George Kittle this week can look to a guy like Thomas. He's a TE2 with upside in Week 9. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [BUF - WR John Brown back on field](=) Source: BuffaloBills.com Buffalo Bills WR [John Brown](=) (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Bills should use Brown more in the offense. His deep speed can flip the field and it helps QB Josh Allen stretch the defense. Against Seattle in Week 9, Brown can be a deep flex with punch for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [MIA - RB Myles Gaskin headed to IR]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Miami Dolphins RB [Myles Gaskin](=) (knee) will be placed on the Reserve/Injured list Thursday, Nov. 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This was in the works since Gaskin has a knee injury that should cost him around three weeks of action. We'll see if he can get back in action in a short amount of time, right in time for the fantasy playoffs. The Dolphins have Jordan Howard and Matt Breida (when healthy) to share work in the backfield. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [BAL - OC: J.K. Dobbins' role evolving]( Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens RB [J.K. Dobbins](=)' role 'will evolve as the season goes on,' offensive coordinator Greg Roman said Thursday, Nov. 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Dobbins had his first 100-yard rushing game last week and he could do more with a more consistent role. The rookie is a talented all-purpose back who can do damage as a runner or receiver out of the backfield. Dobbins will continue splitting time with Gus Edwards and Mark Ingram when he's healthy. Oh yeah, QB Lamar Jackson will also run the rock quite a bit. That limits his potential on a weekly basis but he can perform like a flex play with upside. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [BAL - RB Mark Ingram remains sidelined]( Source: BaltimoreRavens.com Baltimore Ravens RB [Mark Ingram](=) (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ingram is working his way back but the team has no reason to rush him. They'll use rookie J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards in a productive rotation if Ingram has to miss more time. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [MIA - RB Matt Breida remains sidelined](=) Source: MiamiDolphins.com Miami Dolphins RB [Matt Breida](=) (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Dolphins put Myles Gaskin on Injured Reserve and are looking to Breida and Jordan Howard to pick up the slack. Patrick Laird and Salvon Ahmed could get more work if Breida can't play in Week 9. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [BUF - TE Dawson Knox comes off COVID list]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Buffalo Bills TE [Dawson Knox](=) on Thursday, Nov. 5, was activated off the Reserve/COVID-19 list. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Knox could do more if the team went to him more often. He's a little-used tight end with an athletic profile. We'll see if the Bills want to increase his target share going forward. Tyler Kroft basically goes back to the bench with the return of Knox. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [DEN - RB Phillip Lindsay expected to play](=) Source: BSNDenver.com - Zac Stevens Denver Broncos RB [Phillip Lindsay](=) (foot) is expected to practice Thursday, Nov. 5, and be available to play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, head coach Vic Fangio said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That sounds about right. Lindsay had been battling turf toe/foot problems this year. He looks great when healthy and has been doing quite a bit without getting many touches. Expect Melvin Gordon, who is not performing as well as Lindsay, to continue to get more snaps/touches. However, Lindsay can make a field-flipping play at any time and is worth considering as a flex play. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [NYJ - No practice for WR Jamison Crowder]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper New York Jets WR [Jamison Crowder](=) (groin) won't practice Thursday, Nov. 5, head coach Adam Gase said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Jets play on Monday night against the Patriots, so Saturday is the day of practice we need to see Crowder out there for. He's getting close to a return and is worth a flex play if he does play in Week 9. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [NYJ - QB Sam Darnold sitting out practice]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper New York Jets QB [Sam Darnold](=) (shoulder) won't practice Thursday, Nov. 5, head coach Adam Gase announced. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Darnold was banged up again last week and we'll have to see if he can get out there in order to play on Monday night against the Patriots. Gase added that he believes Darnold will be able to practice Friday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott officially limited](=) Source: DallasCowboys.com Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys RB [Ezekiel Elliott](=) (hamstring) was listed as limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Elliott is trying to get ready for the Steelers in Week 9. If he misses the game, then Tony Pollard would get a large role. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [CHI - QB Mitchell Trubisky seeing specialist]() Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo Chicago Bears QB [Mitchell Trubisky](=) (shoulder) is in Los Angeles to see Dr. Neal ElAttrache regarding a shoulder injury similar to the one that kept him out two games in 2018. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Trubisky played one snap last week, ran the ball one time for three yards and was hurt. Just when some Bears fans were calling for the team to turn back to the first-round pick. Nick Foles continues comfortably as the starter for the Bears despite his 'meh' performances. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott doing little Thursday]( Source: The Athletic - Jon Machota Dallas Cowboys RB [Ezekiel Elliott](=) (hamstring) wasn't able to do much in the portion of practice open to the media Thursday, Nov. 5, aside from some work off to the side on resistance bands. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Elliott has been limited all week with this hamstring injury. If he can't play against the Steelers, we'd see a large workload for Tony Pollard. If Elliott does play in this tough matchup, Fantasy GMs should consider him more of a flex play than his normal RB1 status. That means you might have better options this week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [NYG - RB Devonta Freeman on the field Thursday]( Source: Giants.com New York Giants RB [Devonta Freeman](=) (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Freeman is trying to give it a go in Week 9. If he does play, the team might limit his snaps. If he doesn't play, Wayne Gallman would take over as the lead back again. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [PIT - QB Ben Roethlisberger returns to practice](=) Source: Steelers.com - Teresa Varley Pittsburgh Steelers QB [Ben Roethlisberger](=) (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Roethlisberger had Wednesday off, just like he does every week. The Steelers should have no problem with the Cowboys on Sunday.
