Yes, please. We've got some News and Notes so let's get to it. J --------------------------------------------------------------- SITE NEWS A. [The Audible - Week 6 Recap]() In This Episode: Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom go beyond the box score and recap the Week 6 NFL games. Topics Include - the return of Phillip Lindsay is good for the Broncos and good for Fantasy GMs, big days for veteran WRs Julio Jones and A.J. Green, the Buccaneers win with defense (and RB Ronald Jones), plus more! [] INSIDE THIS ISSUE 1. [SF - RB Raheem Mostert likely going on IR](#1) 2. [SF - RB Raheem Mostert likely going on IR](=) Source: San Francisco Chronicle - Eric Branch San Francisco 49ers RB [Raheem Mostert](=) (ankle) suffered a high ankle sprain during the Week 6 game and likely will be placed on the Reserve/Injured list, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mostert has a high ankle sprain and those take quite a bit of time to heal properly. If he's on the IR list then Mostert will have to miss three weeks before he's eligible to return. The 49ers could turn to Jeff Wilson and JaMycal Hasty while Mostert is out. They also have Jerick McKinnon to serve as a big-play back in their 'hot hand' RBBC. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [PHI - TE Zach Ertz likely to miss 3-4 weeks](=) Source: ESPN.com Philadelphia Eagles TE [Zach Ertz](=) (ankle) is expected to be sidelined three to four weeks after he was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain following the team's Week 6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fantasy GMs can move on from the veteran tight end. The Eagles may be getting Dallas Goedert back in Week 7 for their Thursday night matchup against the Giants. If Goedert isn't ready yet, the team will turn to Richard Rodgers as their primary tight end. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey still with no set timetable?]() Source: The Athletic - Joe Person Carolina Panthers RB [Christian McCaffrey](=) (ankle) has missed four games with a high-ankle sprain, and head coach Matt Rhule told reporters Monday, Oct. 19, that he's not sure if McCaffrey will return in Week 7, Week 8 or Week 9. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Panthers have no idea when McCaffrey is going to be back but we can say they aren't rushing him back. Mike Davis has been the fill in with McCaffrey out and he's got RB1 potential for Fantasy GMs each week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [TEN - Taylor Lewan out for season]( Source: Twitter Tennessee Titans OT Taylor Lewan (knee) announced his MRI revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, and he'll miss the rest of the season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Lewan is a cornerstone of the Titans offensive line and he's rarely missed time even though he's played banged up. Now, he'll miss the year and try to get ready for the 2021 season. There's a chance he could be ready for the start of next season, although that is no guarantee given it takes around 12 months to properly heal from this injury. Ty Sambrailo takes over for Lewan at left tackle. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [PHI - RB Miles Sanders unlikely to go Week 7]( Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen Philadelphia Eagles RB [Miles Sanders](=) (knee) is expected to miss Week 7 against the New York Giants with a knee injury he suffered in Week 6, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No surprise here. Sanders is getting checked out and we'll know more about his knee injury in the near future. The Eagles play on Thursday, so Sanders was unlikely to go even if he got great news on his knee. That makes Boston Scott the lead back for the Eagles and he's got RB2 potential with upside in Week 7. Check out your waiver wire to see if he's there. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [NYJ - Denzel Mims nearing debut?]() Source: The Athletic - Connor Hughes New York Jets WR Denzel Mims (hamstring) reportedly put in a lot of work with the scout team leading up to Week 6, and the hope is that will be a launching point for him to make his NFL debut in Week 7 versus the Buffalo Bills. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mims has a ton of talent that we have yet to see. The rookie from Baylor has a great size/speed combination and can go up and rip contested passes away from defenders. We're not too high on anyone not named Jamison Crowder in the Jets passing game, but we do love Mims in dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [CLE - QB Baker Mayfield sore, but OK]() Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich Cleveland Browns QB [Baker Mayfield](=) (ribs) came out of Week 6 sore, but nowhere near as sore as he was after last week, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Steelers got after Mayfield early and often. He was sacked four times and generally under pressure from the first snap. Mayfield will be limited in practice with this ribs injury for most of the year. Browns coach Kevin Stefanski announced Mayfield will start Week 7 against the Bengals so long as he's healthy. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [TEN - TE Jonnu Smith has minor sprain]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Tennessee Titans TE [Jonnu Smith](=) (ankle) has a minor ankle sprain that will likely make him questionable for next week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for Titans fans and Fantasy GMs here. Smith left the game against the Texans early and then Anthony Firkser caught eight passes for 113 yards and a touchdown as his replacement. We'll likely see Smith limited in practice all week long, so keep an eye on his Friday status to determine whether or not he's going to play. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [TEN - WR Corey Davis cleared to return]( Source: The Tennessean - Erik Bacharach Tennessee Titans WR [Corey Davis](=) was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Oct. 19. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Davis was looking good earlier this year before being placed on the COVID-19 list. He caught five of his six targets for 69 yards in a 31-30 win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3. Upon his return, Davis will give QB Ryan Tannehill another quality target to throw to. Davis is a flex play for Fantasy GMs in deeper leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [BAL - RB Mark Ingram may play in Week 8](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens RB [Mark Ingram](=) (ankle) does not have a 'significant' ankle injury, leading head coach John Harbaugh to believe Ingram 'has a chance' of playing in Week 8 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ravens v Steelers is always a hard-fought game. Having a back like Ingram out there to soften up the defense would greatly help. Gus Edwards and rookie J.K. Dobbins will get work as well when the Ravens want to hand the ball off. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [MIN - QB Kirk Cousins' job on the line?]( Source: ESPN.com - Courtney Cronin Minnesota Vikings QB [Kirk Cousins](=) said after throwing three interceptions in Week 6: 'The reality is if the pace I'm on in terms of the interceptions, if that were to continue, I won't finish the season,' Cousins said. 'I won't - you know what I mean? There's a little bit of, you got to improve. Whether it's them telling me, 'Hey, we gotta improve,' or them pulling me; we got to get better. That's what the rest of the season will be about for me is trying to protect the football as best I can. Because when you turn the ball over, it really hurts your chances to win. I know that. I just need to improve as we look ahead to the rest of the season.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see what kind of changes the Vikings offense makes during their Week 7 bye. They come back in Week 8 in a big game against the Packers and Cousins should perform like a QB2 for Fantasy GMs. Getting RB Dalvin Cook back in Week 8 will greatly help this offense and the performance of Cousins. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [PHI - Jalen Hurts' role to increase soon?]( Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com - Bo Wulf Philadelphia Eagles QB [Jalen Hurts](=) has rushed seven times for 49 yards and one catch for three yards through six weeks, and head coach Doug Pederson told reporters Monday, Oct. 19, that he 'could see things continuing' in terms of his role increasing in the offense moving forward. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We could see the Eagles use Hurts more as the season goes on. He's a quarterback but he's the Eagles version of Taysom Hill. Hurts can hurt a defense as a runner, receiver...and even as a passer on gadget plays. The Eagles need more playmakers on offense and Hurts can be one. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [CLE - TE David Njoku restates desire for trade]() Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot Cleveland Browns TE [David Njoku](=), who asked for the Browns to trade him in early July before rescinding the request nearly a month later, has made it be known he would like to be traded before the Nov. 3 deadline. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see if there's some movement here this time. Many will speculate the Patriots would be a likely destination for Njoku but we'll see if the Browns can be swayed with an offer they can't refuse.
