[LAR - RB Darrell Henderson gets into end zone twice](#23) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [NO - WR Michael Thomas to miss Week 5](=) Source: NewOrleansSaints.com New Orleans Saints WR [Michael Thomas](=) (non-injury, ankle) has been ruled out of the Week 5 game because of a non-injury related reason. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thomas got in an altercation with a teammate and will be benched as discipline. The Saints are on a bye in Week 6 so we'll see him in Week 7. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [DAL - QB Dak Prescott to have ankle surgery]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys QB [Dak Prescott](=) (ankle) will have ankle surgery on Sunday, Oct. 11, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Prescott suffered a compound fracture of his ankle. He was in tears and the team was visibly shaken up. Andy Dalton is one of the best backups in the league, but everyone in the Cowboys offense takes a big hit on this news. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CIN - WR A.J. Green injures hamstring]( Source: Bengals.com Cincinnati Bengals WR [A.J. Green](=) (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury during the Week 5 game and is considered doubtful to return. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This will give you permission to drop him from your roster - even in dynasty - if you haven't already. It has been sad to watch the ghost of AJ Green this year and we'll prefer to remember him as he was before the run of injuries stole something that he never got back. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [SF - QB Jimmy Garoppolo pulled at halftime]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter San Francisco 49ers QB [Jimmy Garoppolo](=) was benched at halftime of the Week 5 game against the Miami Dolphins. He completed 7-of-17 passes for 77 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in the first half. QB [C.J. Beathard](=) replaced him. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Garoppolo was falling apart at the end of the half. The team might believe he showed he wasn't ready physically or that leaving him in would do damage mentally, but either way they don't think Garoppolo should be out there. A big division matchup is up next vs. the Rams and Garoppolo should be out there, but one wonders about how long his leash is now. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [PHI - Lane Johnson carted off](=) Source: NFL.com Philadelphia Eagles OT Lane Johnson (ankle) was carted off the field after suffering an ankle injury during the Week 5 game and is considered questionable to return. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Eagles offense suffered without Johnson. We'll be watching his status leading into next week's game against Baltimore. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [BAL - QB Lamar Jackson throws two TDs]() Source: NFL.com Baltimore Ravens QB [Lamar Jackson](=) went 19-for-37 for 180 yards, two touchdowns and one interception against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5. He only rushed for three yards on two carries during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jackson was off as a passer in this one and there's a clear feeling that he hasn't come close to his 2019 level of play yet this year. He has been a major fantasy disappointment, but in part because the Ravens have had four wins where they were barely challenged and could take the foot off of the gas in the second half. Jackson gets the Eagles next week and should still be in lineups. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [LVR - Henry Ruggs posts 118 yards, TD]() Source: ESPN Las Vegas Raiders WR [Henry Ruggs](=) III reeled in two receptions for 118 yards, including a 72-yard touchdown, in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs on three targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ruggs looked healthy for the first time since the first half of Week 1 and the Chiefs had no answer for his speed in the secondary on his two big plays. He'll be a strong WR3/Flex upside play after his bye. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [ARI - RB Kenyan Drake reaches end zone]() Source: NFL.com Arizona Cardinals RB [Kenyan Drake](=) rushed for 60 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries against the New York Jets in Week 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Drake finally got back in the end zone, but he was outplayed by Chase Edmonds again in a game that should make you wonder when Edmonds will make this a committee, if not take over the backfield. Drake will be a what the heck flex against the Cowboys next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [KC - QB Patrick Mahomes tosses two TDs]() Source: ESPN Kansas City Chiefs QB [Patrick Mahomes](=) completed 22-of-43 passes for 340 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders and he also rushed six times for 21 yards and a score. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mahomes was flustered by pressure and good coverage even though his fantasy result was very good. He hasn't been a disappointment for fantasy teams, but the last two weeks it feels like he could have played better. He'll face Buffalo in a Monday night showdown in Week 6. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [KC - WR Sammy Watkins scores in Week 5]() Source: ESPN Kansas City Chiefs WR [Sammy Watkins](=) ended up with two catches for 24 yards and a score on his two targets in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Watkins left the game with a hamstring injury, and he's not known as a quick healer. He'll have an extra day to get healthy enough to go for Monday night football against the Bills. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [LAR - Cam Akers tops the rushing charts]() Source: ESPN Los Angeles Rams RB [Cam Akers](=) rushed nine times for a game-high 61 yards in Week 5 against the Washington Football Team. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Akers had his best run when the game was already decided but still showed enough to remain a part of this tough to project running back rotation. He's worth stashing at the end of your bench but doesn't have any lineup value right now. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [LAR - QB Jared Goff goes over 300 yards]() Source: ESPN Los Angeles Rams QB [Jared Goff](=) completed 21-of-30 passes for 309 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Week 5 against the Washington Football Team. He also had a rushing score. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Goff crushed a bad NFC East defense for the second time this year. He was also strong in a furious comeback second half against the Bills, but might not be trustworthy against solid defenses. The 49ers don't look like one right now, but the Rams haven't faced enough good competition to completely trust Goff next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [LVR - RB Josh Jacobs runs for two scores]() Source: ESPN Las Vegas Raiders RB [Josh Jacobs](=) ran 23 times for 77 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs and he added two catches for eight yards on three targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jacobs was bottled up for a lot of this game but he was effective at the goal line and at the end of the game when the Raiders needed to salt away this win. Las Vegas's offense is trending up and Jacobs scoring opportunities should be plentiful. After a slow last three weeks, Jacobs value is back up going into his bye when he'll get much needed rest. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [WAS - QB Alex Smith takes over in Washington]() Source: ESPN Washington Football Team QB Alex Smith completed 9-of-17 passes for 37 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams after taking over for the injured QB Kyle Allen (arm). [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith looked overwhelmed at times and didn't move or throw like he did before his numerous leg surgeries. This is an uplifting story, but we hope they are careful here. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [LAR - TE Gerald Everett goes for 90 yards]() Source: ESPN Los Angeles Rams TE [Gerald Everett](=) finished with four catches for a game-high 90 yards on four targets in Week 5 against the Washington Football Team. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Everett was dynamic for a big man on his touches and appears to be more prominent in the game plan than Tyler Higbee even though Higbee went much earlier in fantasy drafts, that is if Everett was drafted at all. He's a desperation play tight end right now, but with room for his value to grow heading into a matchup with the 49ers. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [CAR - WR Robby Anderson hits triple digits]() Source: ESPN Carolina Panthers WR [Robby Anderson](=) registered eight receptions for 112 yards on 13 targets in Week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Anderson continues to roll this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [LAR - DE Aaron Donald registers four sacks]( Source: ESPN Stats and Information Los Angeles Rams DT Aaron Donald posted four sacks, three tackles for loss and three quarterback hits in Week 5 against the Washington Football Team. It's the fifth time in his career he has at least three or more sacks in a game, the most by any player since he entered the league in 2014. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Washington had no answer for Donald, who was in the backfield all afternoon. He is making the Rams D/ST worth playing every week. The 49ers will try to slow him down next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [LVR - QB Derek Carr tosses three touchdowns]() Source: ESPN Las Vegas Raiders QB [Derek Carr](=) completed 22-of-31 passes for 347 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Carr got the vertical passing game going and exposed a lot of flaws in the Chiefs secondary in this game. He's now in consideration to be a matchup QB1 heading into his bye, and Carr should be rostered in all leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [KC - Clyde Edwards-Helaire mostly bottled up]() Source: ESPN Kansas City Chiefs RB [Clyde Edwards-Helaire](=) rushed 10 times for 40 yards in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders and he added three grabs for 40 yards on eight targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Edwards-Helaire looked ordinary and hasn't been able to provide the red zone productivity or big passing game plays that Damien Williams added to this offense when he was healthy. Edwards-Helaire did have a short touchdown reception wiped off of the board by a penalty. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [ARI - WR DeAndre Hopkins has outstanding game]() Source: NFL.com Arizona Cardinals WR [DeAndre Hopkins](=) caught six passes for 131 yards and one touchdown against the New York Jets in Week 5. He was targeted seven times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hopkins was quiet until the fourth quarter but did enough to post a big game as the game was getting out of hand. His ankle isn't an issue heading into a choice matchup with the Cowboys next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 21. [NYJ - WR Jamison Crowder surpasses 100-yard mark]() Source: NFL.com New York Jets WR [Jamison Crowder](=) caught eight passes for 116 yards and one touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5. He was targeted 10 times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Crowder has at least seven catches and 100 yards in all three games he has played in this year. He is unbenchable going into a matchup with the Chargers next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 22. [ARI - RB Chase Edmonds involved in run, pass game]() Source: NFL.com Arizona Cardinals RB [Chase Edmonds](=) rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown on three carries against the New York Jets in Week 5. He also caught five passes for 56 yards during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Edmonds was more dynamic than Kenyan Drake and got the vast majority of the running back passing game work again this week. He's a strong flex play and PPR RB2 in a pinch with the Cowboys and a potential shootout up next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 23. [LAR - RB Darrell Henderson gets into end zone twice]() Source: ESPN Los Angeles Rams RB [Darrell Henderson](=) ran 15 times for 38 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 against the Washington Football Team and he added three grabs for 30 yards and a score on four targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Henderson ran with great initial burst and was a good passing game contributor while leading the backfield in carries. Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown still combined for more carries than Henderson and this backfield remains unpredictable. Henderson was likely on fantasy benches after Malcolm Brown got more work than him last week, and he'll only be a flex play against the 49ers next week despite the momentum.
