But one stalwart stands tall yet again in terms of being a clear value pick. [Week 5 Survivor Picks]( A team with a 1-3 record, the Dallas Cowboys, are the most popular survivor pool pick this week. Does that make sense with many similar options on the board? [NFL Betting Analysis]( Overs have dominated the season so far, but a team with a consistently stout defense has been bucking the trend. Also, is Dallas' 0-4 ATS streak likely to end? One fact looks promising. [WAS - WR Terry McLaurin practices](=) Source: NBC Sports Washington - JP Finlay Washington Football Team WR [Terry McLaurin](=) (thigh) returned to practice Thursday, Oct. 8, after sitting out the previous day. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Washington made a quarterback change to Kyle Allen...and there should be a mandate to get the ball to McLaurin as much as possible. He's a low-end WR1 with upside for Fantasy GMs in Week 5 against the Rams. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [BAL - QB Lamar Jackson expected to play]( Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens QB [Lamar Jackson](=) (knee) is expected to play in Week 5 on Sunday, Oct. 11. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fantasy GMs can breathe a bit of a sigh of relief here. The Ravens play against the Bengals and should have an easy time against that defense. We could see the team using the run game (more J.K. Dobbins please) to win the contest. Jackson's missed practices Wednesday and Thursday were precautionary measures taken by the team, according to this report. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [BUF - Zack Moss remains limited](=) Source: BuffaloBills.com Buffalo Bills RB [Zack Moss](=) (toe) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Moss was limited last week too and ended up missing Week 4. He could be inactive for Week 5 as well. Stay tuned to his Friday participation and expect more from Devin Singletary if Moss has to miss more time. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [BUF - WR John Brown tweaks injury?]( Source: TWC News Buffalo - Jon Scott Buffalo Bills WR [John Brown](=) (calf) practiced Thursday, Oct. 8 after missing the previous day, but did come up hobbling and had to be attended to on the sideline after making a catch during the end of the media session. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brown's status for Week 5 is in question. Of course, the whole Bills/Titans game is due to COVID-19. We'll see if Brown can practice on Friday and if the team is even going to play on Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CIN - RB Joe Mixon listed as limited](=) Source: Bengals.com Cincinnati Bengals RB [Joe Mixon](=) (shin) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mixon is the centerpiece of what the Bengals do on offense. He came through in a big way for Fantasy GMs last week, but it's a tough matchup against the Ravens in Week 5. Ride the hot hand with Mixon as a low-end RB1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [WAS - QB Kyle Allen week-to-week starter]() Source: ESPN.com - John Keim Washington Football Team QB [Kyle Allen](=) is the starter on a game-by-game basis, head coach Ron Rivera said Thursday, Oct. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No surprise here. We wouldn't be shocked to see Alex Smith start some games for Washington if Allen struggles. It also wouldn't be terribly surprising to see Dwayne Haskins get back into the lineup later in the year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [NYJ - Le'Veon Bell showing good signs]( Source: NewYorkJets.com - Eric Allen New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell (hamstring) has looked good in practice this week and could be activated for Week 5, according to head coach Adam Gase. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With Joe Flacco at quarterback, we're not super excited about a potential return for Bell. He should be considered a flex play or RB3 if he does get out there against Arizona on Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [KC - WR Mecole Hardman fully practices]( Source: Chiefs.com Kansas City Chiefs WR [Mecole Hardman](=) (hamstring) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A good sign for the speedy wideout here. Hardman can be considered a 'what the heck' flex for Fantasy GMs in Week 5. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [CLE - Coach: TE David Njoku 100 percent](=) Source: The Chronicle-Telegram - Scott Petrak Cleveland Browns TE [David Njoku](=) (knee) is '100 percent' according to head coach Kevin Stefanski, as Njoku returns from a knee injury that had him on the Reserve/Injured list for the last three games. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for Njoku here...but it's not all good news for him. Njoku is basically third on the depth chart behind Austin Hooper and rookie Harrison Bryant. That means he won't get much work now that he can be back on gameday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [CLE - WR Odell Beckham limited Thursday]( Source: ClevelandBrowns.com Cleveland Browns WR [Odell Beckham](=) Jr. (toe) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Beckham proved last week that he's still 'that dude' but that was against a bad Cowboys defense. The matchup is tougher this week against the Colts but we see him as a WR2 with upside for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [NE - WR Julian Edelman listed as limited](=) Source: Patriots.com New England Patriots WR [Julian Edelman](=) (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 8. The Patriots did not hold a practice Thursday, so this is an estimation. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Broncos/Patriots game has been moved to Monday night. We'll know more about everyone's status on Friday and now Saturday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [DEN - TE Noah Fant a long shot for Sunday](=) Source: Denver7 - Troy Renck Denver Broncos TE [Noah Fant](=) (ankle) is 'probably a long shot' to play in Week 5, according to head coach Vic Fangio, though he stopped short of ruling Fant out. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] No surprise here. Fant is unlikely to play against the Patriots. That means the team could use more Jake Butt or Nick Vannett. There's also a chance that rookie Albert Okwuegbunam is activated for the first time this year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [LAC - Justin Herbert to keep starting job]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Los Angeles Chargers QB [Justin Herbert](=) will remain the starting quarterback moving forward regardless of when [Tyrod Taylor](=) (chest, ribs) returns, according to head coach Anthony Lynn. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Herbert looks like the real deal. The stage is not too big for the rookie quarterback and he seems to be growing in his development on a weekly basis. Now, Herbert just needs to get the team on a winning track. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [CLE - RB Kareem Hunt a limited participant]( Source: ClevelandBrowns.com Cleveland Browns RB [Kareem Hunt](=) (groin) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hunt is going to be the primary running back for the Browns with Nick Chubb out. We will see his practice status on Friday, and there's a chance he could be a full participant. Now the lead guy, Hunt is a RB1 for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [MIA - Full practice for WR DeVante Parker]() Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan Miami Dolphins WR [DeVante Parker](=) (ankle) was full participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for Parker and the Dolphins passing game here. Parker is the no.1 target for QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and against the 49ers on Sunday we should see him produce like a WR2 for Fantasy GMs in Week 5. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [PIT - WR Diontae Johnson practices in full]( Source: Steelers.com Pittsburgh Steelers WR [Diontae Johnson](=) (toe) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Johnson is back in action this week for the Steelers. That means Fantasy GMs can look at him as a WR2 with upside. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [ATL - WR Julio Jones officially misses practice]() Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Will McFadden Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons WR [Julio Jones](=) (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones suffered a setback on Monday. Missing practice on Thursday is not a good sign for his availability in Week 5. Make other plans...as most Fantasy GMs have done already with Jones on the roster. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [NYJ - WR Jamison Crowder takes part in practice]() Source: NewYorkJets.com New York Jets WR [Jamison Crowder](=) (hamstring) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Crowder is about the only asset from the Jets offense Fantasy GMs want to consider starting. He's a WR2/WR3 option against the Cardinals on Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery unable to practice Thursday](=) Source: ESPN.com - Tim McManus Philadelphia Eagles WR [Alshon Jeffery](=) (foot, illness) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Eagles had a plan to bring back Jeffery by Week 5. That may not be the case with this practice status. They are desperate for help at the position but are not rushing Jeffery back. Fantasy GMs have other/better options.
