[IND - RB Marlon Mack may have torn Achilles]( Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (Achilles) left the Week 1 game early, and the team fears that Mack suffered a torn Achilles tendon, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Obviously Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines stock both take a big leap on this news. This is sad because Mack is heading to free agency next year and might have to wait a while to get signed. Jordan Wilkins becomes the #2 early down back on this news. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NE - QB Cam Newton accounts for two TDs](=) Source: NFL.com New England Patriots QB Cam Newton went 15-for-19 for 155 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. He also rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Newton played it safe in the passing game and finished two drives as a runner to provide a good game for anyone who trusted him in Week 1. If he was your best quarterback this week, you'll probably start him against Seattle next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NYJ - Le'Veon Bell injures hamstring]() Source: NewYorkJets.com New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury during the Week 1 game and is considered doubtful to return. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bell was already damaged goods because of the offense he plays in, and now we have a reason to avoid him, or any Jets back. He won't be a good play even if he is somehow ready to play against San Francisco next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [LVR - RB Josh Jacobs racks up three rushing TDs]() Source: ESPN Oakland Raiders RB Josh Jacobs carried 25 times for 93 yards and three touchdowns in the Week 1 road win against the Carolina Panthers. He also added four receptions for 46 yards on six targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jacobs was more involved in the passing game as promised, and all three of his scores were easy, which bodes well for the Buccaneers goal line running game next week. Jacobs faces a much tougher Saints defense next week, but his fantasy teams could not be happier. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [GB - Aaron Rodgers Shines With 4 TDs]() Source: ESPN Aaron Rodgers passed for 364 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Packers past the Vikings 43-34 [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] For all the talk of Aaron Rodgers decline, he played fantastic Sunday with several vintage type highlight throws. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [CLE - Knee injury for TE David Njoku]() Source: NFL.com Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (knee) suffered a knee injury during the Week 1 game and is considered questionable to return. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Njoku was having a good game after some thought he had fallen to the TE3 on the Browns roster. Austin Hooper or rookie Harrison Bryant could get more targets next week if Njoku isn't ready to play the Bengals. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [NE - N'Keal Harry catches five passes](=) Source: NFL.com New England Patriots WR N'Keal Harry caught five passes for 39 yards against the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. He also lost a fumble during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Harry's fumble went through the end zone. There was enough volume there from Harry via Cam Newton to hold Harry in deeper leagues, but the fumble stopped his positive momentum. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [GB - Shoulder injury for Lucas Patrick]() Source: NFL.com Green Bay Packers OG Lucas Patrick (shoulder) suffered a shoulder injury during the Week 1 game and is considered questionable to return. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Packers shoehorned Patrick to avoid playing pricey free agent pickup Ricky Wagner after Billy Turner missed this game. The Vikings are still having trouble getting pressure on Aaron Rodgers. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [BUF - Zack Moss finds end zone in debut]() Source: NFL.com Buffalo Bills RB Zack Moss caught three passes for 16 yards and one touchdown against the New York Jets in Week 1. He also rushed for 11 yards on nine carries during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Moss's touchdown bailed out what was otherwise a very quiet debut for him, but at least he got half of the running back carries. He'll only be a flex play against the Dolphins next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [MIA - RB Jordan Howard reaches end zone]( Source: NFL.com Miami Dolphins RB Jordan Howard rushed for seven yards and one touchdown on eight carries against the New England Patriots in Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Howard just isn't going to find a lot of room to run behind this line or have game scripts to give him high volume. He's droppable heading into a game against Buffalo. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [BUF - Three touchdowns for QB Josh Allen]() Source: NFL.com Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen went 33-for-46 for 312 yards and two touchdowns against the New York Jets in Week 1. He also rushed for 57 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries but did lose two fumbles. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Allen was excellent on most of the plays, but he also had the lost fumbles and missed more than one easy touchdown pass. The real test will come when Allen plays a better team and has to be more consistent, but that might not come next week against Miami. He should be in fantasy lineups after posting one of the best statistical games of his career. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [MIA - WR Preston Williams posts 41 yards]( Source: NFL.com Miami Dolphins WR Preston Williams caught two passes for 41 yards against the New England Patriots in Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams could get more opportunity than expected this year if Devante Parker's hamstring portends another headache season for the Dolphins #1 receiver. Still, if Parker is out next week against the Bills, Williams will have a tough matchup against Tre'Davious White. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [BUF - WR John Brown finishes with 70 yards]() Source: NFL.com Buffalo Bills WR John Brown caught six passes for 70 yards and one touchdown against the New York Jets in Week 1. He was targeted 10 times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brown should have had another score, but Josh Allen missed him badly on a short throw. Brown looks as good as ever and he's worth as much as Stefon Diggs if not more. He is still a risky play against the top end Dolphins corners next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [BUF - WR Stefon Diggs plays well in Week 1]() Source: NFL.com Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs caught eight passes for 86 yards against the New York Jets in Week 1. He was targeted nine times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Diggs was a solid PPR play this week because of the high passing volume for Josh Allen, which might not be a norm for the Bills. Next week he'll face the tough Dolphins outside corners, making him a WR3/Flex at best. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [MIA - TE Mike Gesicki catches three passes]( Source: NFL.com Miami Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki caught three passes for 30 yards against the New England Patriots in Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gesicki and the whole Dolphins offense was underwhelming against a Patriots defense that might still be among the league's better units. He's not a preferred start next week against the Bills. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [PHI - QB Carson Wentz shaky in opening loss]() Source: ESPN Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz completed 24-of-42 passes for 270 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in Week 1 against the Washington Football Team and he also lost a fumble. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wentz had a few shining moments on the way to building a 17-0 lead but his interceptions helped start the undoing of his team. He put up a reasonable stat line but his offensive line could be a problem. The Rams are up next week and Wentz isn't an obvious start. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [MIA - Hamstring injury for WR DeVante Parker]() Source: NFL.com Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (hamstring) left the Week 1 game early because of a hamstring injury and is questionable to return. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Parker had some hamstring issues in training camp so this is all too expected. Preston Williams will face Tre'Davious White next week if Parker is out so he's not exactly a hot play for Week 2. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [MIA - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick struggles in opener]( Source: NFL.com Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick went 20-for-30 for 191 yards, zero touchdowns and three interceptions against the New England Patriots in Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There was no Fitzmagic today. We should continue to respect the Patriots defense, and maybe slow expectations for the Dolphins to be moving up in the AFC East power rankings. This game did nothing to slow down the arrival calendar for Tua Tagovailoa. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [BUF - RB Devin Singletary posts 53 total yards]() Source: NFL.com Buffalo Bills RB Devin Singletary rushed for 30 yards on nine carries against the New York Jets in Week 1. He also caught five passes for 23 yards during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Bills running game was contained by the Jets and Singletary split the work with Zack Moss down the middle. He'll be a flex play at best against the Dolphins next week with the hope that he remains as involved in the passing game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [CAR - WR D.J. Moore targeted nine times in loss]() Source: ESPN Carolina Panthers WR D.J. Moore checked in with four catches and 54 yards on nine targets in Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Moore wasn't a frequent target for Teddy Bridgewater in a disappointing game for teams that drafted him. If he doesn't put up a better game against the Bucs next week, he might not be an automatic start in Week 3 against the Chargers. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 21. [NYJ - WR Jamison Crowder surpasses 100-yard mark]() Source: NFL.com New York Jets WR Jamison Crowder caught seven passes for 115 yards and one touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1. He was targeted 13 times during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Crowder broke a tackle and took a catch to the house to make his day, but the Jets offense was otherwise abysmal. Crowder is still a safe WR3/Flex in PPR leagues against San Francisco next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 22. [PHI - RB Boston Scott fizzles in starting chance]() Source: ESPN Philadelphia Eagles RB Boston Scott rushed nine times for 35 yards in Week 1 against the Washington Football Team and he added catches for 19 yards on two targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Scott was a big let down even though he led the backfield in touches with Miles Sanders out. The Eagles offensive line is compromised and Scott is only end of the bench material at best against the Rams next week even if Sanders is still out. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 23. [CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey just misses 100 yards]() Source: ESPN Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey rushed 23 times for 96 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders and he added three grabs for 38 yards on four targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McCaffrey wasn't heavily involved as a receiver, but his two rushing scores still made for a big day. You'd like to see him get more targets, but McCaffrey looks every bit the player he was last year and worth the #1 pick. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 24. [LVR - TE Darren Waller leads team with six catches]() Source: ESPN Las Vegas Raiders TE Darren Waller hauled in a team-high six reception for 45 yards in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers and he also led the team with eight targets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Waller was targeted early in the game, but since he didn't account for any of the scores and Derek Carr spread the ball around, he didn't have an outstanding fantasy game. He'll still be a low TE1 against the Saints next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
